Disney’s ALADDIN is a dazzling and extravagant showcase of special effects — including a flying magic carpet during “A Whole New World” — as well as glittering-gold costumes and art deco-style sets that mirror the grandeur of a Busby Berkeley musical. One of Broadway’s most popular musical comedies, the show opened at the legendary New Amsterdam Theatre on March 20, 2014, and has since broken numerous house records (grossing over $500 million on Broadway). Eight-time Oscar winner Alan Menken composed the show’s music. The lyrics are by two-time Oscar winner Howard Ashman (Beauty and the Beast, The Little Mermaid), as well as three-time Tony Award and three-time Oscar winner Tim Rice and six-time Tony Award nominee Chad Beguelin. The book is by Beguelin and direction/choreography is by two-time Tony Award-winner Casey Nicholaw.

The New Amsterdam Theatre is located on 214 West 42nd Street between 7th and 8th Avenue. There is no designated on-site parking. However, there are numerous parking options in the Broadway Theater District. Here's a link to a Google map display of the various options in the Times Square area.

Meet expectation. I listened to the original cast recording of the Broadway Show for a long while before attending the Broadway Show. The whole cast is phenomenal. The story holds a lot of traditional family values so it is very family and kid-safe.

The show was really amazing. The actors were good, the script is funny and the songs are great too with beautiful voices. We loved everything so much we wanted to go back as soon as we got out. If you love colors, music, dances and big shows that's the perfect choice !

Aladdin on Broadway is a classic tale with a twist. While keeping to the storyline and structure of the animated Disney version, Iago (originally a parrot) is replaced by a loud, shrieking, equally hilarious sidekick who stole many scenes. The genie, an equally engaging character, added flare to the story with updated lines, song lyrics, and modern “attitude”. Aladdin’s three friends replaced Aboo but provided the same sense of camaraderie. The crowd and street scenes were wonderfully choreographed and the costumes were beautiful. The show contained several surprises which added to the overall success of this rendition. The character of Aladdin was well-played; however, the new song “Proud of Your Boy” was, I feel, unnecessary. A mother figure was cut from the animated version so why try to insert the idea of her here? While promoting Aladdin’s noble heart and intentions, it strayed too far by adding an element that wasn’t there. Overall, the musical was enthralling and exciting and I would see it again and again!
Great show, great voices. A little on the pricy side when it comes to beverages etc, but it’s also NYC so expect to spend a pretty penny. Overall a great experience. I will def do it again.

What a wonderful show! From entering the theatre it was quite an event. The ushers were professional, quick and thorough. The entire show was enjoyable, and the Genie, fantastic!! The Genie made the show!! I only wish the Genie was in more of the production, but the entire show from introduction to the end was wonderful. I even enjoyed how animated the conductor was. You can clearly see even she was having a good time, and this is after many, many performances. So glad we were able to get tickets.

We went with our kods to watch Aladdin. It was our first Broadway show and it was amazing. We had balcony seats, and even though the seats were pretty high up and narrow, we had an amazing experience. The stage, costumes, acting, everything was amazing! Highly recommend!
