Funny, Exciting, Best performance

New Amsterdam Theatre - New York

All crew members was great, performance was outstanding, But the genie was the best of all.... 200% i will definitely see Aladdin Broadway play again. the only thing that was bad is the intermission to get a snack or drink, the line should move fast and be organized. need more time . but overall GREAT PERFORMANCE!!!!

Awesome Aladdin

New Amsterdam Theatre - New York

We loved the beautiful location of the historic New Amsterdam Theatre. Our Mezzanine seats were fine and the production was very slick. Cast, scenery, costumes and special effects were brilliant. My husband, six year old son and I were amazed by the flying carpet, music and acting.

The show was great

New Amsterdam Theatre - New York

The show was amazing. My 6 yr old daughter and i loved it. The singing and performance was great. This was my second time seeing it but was her first. She was dancing the whole time. The only drawback from the experience was the seats in the theater. I'm 5'5" and my legs were squeezed up against the chair in front of me. They need to space the chairs out a little better so that you can be comfortable while watching the show instead of trying to keep moving around so you dont get a leg cramp.

Amazing!

New Amsterdam Theatre - New York

I must first say that I’m not a huge fan of broadway shows. However, Aladdin was one of the best shows I’ve ever seen. There was comedy, (mini) pyrotechnics, and just amazing visuals. I truly enjoyed every moment in the theatre and would love seeing this show again one day.

Aladdin: The Musical On Tour

Disney's 1992 animated film Aladdin, an adaptation of the classic Arabic folk tale from the book One Thousand and One Nights, was a worldwide smash, with songs like the wide-eyed "A Whole New World" and the jovial "Friend Like Me" entering the Mouse House's greatest-hits pantheon. In 2011, Aladdin: The Musical, featuring music from the movie as well as new songs specifically written for the stage adaptation, debuted in Seattle, and it's been opening up "a whole new world" to audiences around the globe ever since.

Aladdin: The Musical was originally conceptualized by lyricist Howard Ashman, one of the key figures behind Disney's animated-musical renaissance of the late 1980s and early 1990s. Working with composer Alan Menken, his creative partner on groundbreaking musicals like Little Shop of Horrors and Beauty and the Beast, Ashman penned the lyrics for "Arabian Nights" and "Friend Like Me" before his untimely 1991 death; Tim Rice (Jesus Christ Superstar, Evita) then stepped in, writing the lyrics for "One Jump Ahead" and the eventual pop chart-topper "A Whole New World." Playwright Chad Beguelin, who wrote the book for Aladdin's musical-theater adaptation, also contributed lyrics to a few new Menken-written songs, including Princess Jasmine's stirring "These Palace Walls" and the Genie and Aladdin's "bromance" celebration "Somebody's Got Your Back."

Since 2014, Aladdin: The Musical has been one of Broadway's premier musical theater attractions, racking up Tony and Drama Desk nominations and earning standing ovations from the New Amsterdam Theatre crowd nightly. It's also lit up theaters in Europe, Asia, and Australia, including the Prince Edward Theatre on London's West End and the Dentsu Shiki Theatre in Tokyo. The 2018-2019 North American touring production features newcomer Clinton Greenspan as the urchin-turned-prince Aladdin, Lissa deGuzman as the ever-dreaming Princess Jasmine, Michael James Scott reprising his Helpmann Award-winning performance as the freewheeling Genie, and Jonathan Weir as the cunning sorcerer Jafar.
