With their 40th anniversary at hand in 2013, legendary country band Alabama embarked on their first tour in more than a decade and released an officially endorsed tribute album titled "Alabama and Friends." The album features current country stars covering some of Alabama's country-rock classics -- including Kenny Chesney on "Lady Down on Love," Jason Aldean on "Tennessee River," Luke Bryan on "Love in the First Degree," and the Eli Young Band on "The Closer You Get" -- along with two new Alabama songs. It was a fitting tribute for the most successful band in country music history, which logged 34 singles that topped Billboard's country singles chart between 1980 and 2011 and has sold more than 75 million albums. The band's core remains the same as when it was founded in 1969, when they were known as Wildcountry: Randy Owen (lead vocals, rhythm guitar), his cousin Teddy Gentry (bass), and another cousin, Jeff Cook (lead guitar, keyboards, fiddle). By 1973, the trio had decided to pursue music full time and they signed their first record deal -- and changed their name to The Alabama Band at the label's request -- in 1977. By the '80s, the band had hit its stride, moving huge numbers of concert tickets and filling their trophy cases with multiple Grammy, CMA and ACM awards.
Alabama was absolutely amazing. They played for a long time and played all their great songs. I wish I could see them again tonight!
It was one of the best concerts I've ever attended (and I go to a LOT of concerts). Also the amphitheater was really nice!
I never get tired of seeing my boys perform. They are now, as they have always been, great entertainers. Tuscaloosa was my 86th show and I have never witnessed them give less than a stellar performance. Most of all they truly care about helping others as was proven by this concert. Thank you guys for 30 years of remarkable memories.
Alabama was Great!!! As usual. We were so glad to see the boys come out of retirement to help Tuscaloosa. Hope to see them again.
My wife and I had an amazing night out that helped our community. This was our first event at the new amphitheater and we were very excited about what we saw. And with the overall atmosphere we will be back. And we will definitely be looking to see Alabama take the stage again.
Very great. I've seen them five times and they have never disappointed!!
Alabama is as good as ever! Jeff was unbelievable on the guitar and the fiddle!
Tuscaloosa Amphitheater + AlabamA = Perfect Evening!
It was a great concert for a great cause. Alabama is an great example of people helping people. That is one of the reason I love them. They never have forgotten where they come from.
It was great to hear ( and sing along with) Alabama in Alabama! So glad they did the show in Tuscaloosa.

Best Concert I've attended in YEARS!! This group has only gotten better with time!
Awesome concert. Tuscalossa Amphitheater was much better than any other amphitheater in Alabama.
The band came to play and they spilled their guts and gave everything they had for the crowd. They sincerely tried to please a grieving community and they did!
Alabama was amazing! The concert was upbeat and fun but serious to. They sang all their hit songs plus a song they wrote about the day of the tornado which i thought was great.I love what they're doing for te state of Alabama and the people affected by the tornado, definitely an unforgettable concert.
This was my first time to see the group ALABAMA live. This ranks in the Top 5 concerts that I have attended. This was a benefit concert for the Tuscaloosa, AL area for the April 27, 2011 tornado.
I've been to several concerts and Alabama was the best I've ever been to. They need to come back and do a follow up concert!!!
Alabama put on a great show with minimum fanfare, all for a great cause. Everyone had the time of their life. Nice outdoor venu.
It was breath taking!! They preformed each song with heart and gratitude to the crowd who came out to help support Tuscaloosa in their time of need. A great group within a great state!
This Alabama concert was one of the best concerts I have ever been to. The band interacted with the audience and played a great set list. I am glad that I went and would have paid a lot to have experienced that.
