With their 40th anniversary at hand in 2013, legendary country band Alabama embarked on their first tour in more than a decade and released an officially endorsed tribute album titled "Alabama and Friends." The album features current country stars covering some of Alabama's country-rock classics -- including Kenny Chesney on "Lady Down on Love," Jason Aldean on "Tennessee River," Luke Bryan on "Love in the First Degree," and the Eli Young Band on "The Closer You Get" -- along with two new Alabama songs. It was a fitting tribute for the most successful band in country music history, which logged 34 singles that topped Billboard's country singles chart between 1980 and 2011 and has sold more than 75 million albums. The band's core remains the same as when it was founded in 1969, when they were known as Wildcountry: Randy Owen (lead vocals, rhythm guitar), his cousin Teddy Gentry (bass), and another cousin, Jeff Cook (lead guitar, keyboards, fiddle). By 1973, the trio had decided to pursue music full time and they signed their first record deal -- and changed their name to The Alabama Band at the label's request -- in 1977. By the '80s, the band had hit its stride, moving huge numbers of concert tickets and filling their trophy cases with multiple Grammy, CMA and ACM awards.

So great to see these guys back on tour. Wish they would start making records again. Will be a fan till I die.
Had a great time with all the extras before the show and then an hour and 1/2 show. Alabama sang some of my favorite songs. Could have listened for much longer. They still sound terrific.
Alabama put on a wonderful show. They've still got it! It's nice that they are making a 'comeback tour'. There is no problem with them coming back! Wonderful show, too short. Sign in front of venue said no photography or videos so we did not take any pictures, never did videos, but would have liked to get some pictures of them now..... : (
They sang straight for over 1 1/2 hours...we got our monies worth and more.....If you get a chance to see Alabama don't miss them!!
The songs they played were good but they did the same song twice and messed up the verses. For the money we paid I expected more than 80 minutes of entertainment. Clint Black was a much better show.
You could tell that Randy was pumped for the show and Teddy and Jeff were there as entertainers. Jeff and and Randy were getting in the groove of the music while Ted was being to hard on himself, and trying to entertain the crowd and focus on the music. But I really enjoyed the story lines that Randy was telling along with the songs and the way he played the stories into the songs.
The concert was fantastic. The "boys in the band" still have it and it was so enjoyable to just enjoy the music and entertainment. Jeff still can play the guitar and fiddle. Only "complaint" I have is the concert could have been longer. If we understood Randy correctly, they were only allowed to play for 90 minutes. At the price of the tickets, we should have been able to enjoy them the entire evening ~ or as long as they could
The concert was AWESOME! It was the first time my husband and I had seen Alabama in concert. Our only complaint would be that it was way too short! An hour and a half for a band that has as many hits as Alabama just isn't enough time!!
It was like the Best of alabama Concert. Wish it was 4 hours longer so we could hear almost all of their hits! Voices are still good and they really interacted well with the audience. Loved the smaller venue also.
Seen Alabama last night at the Seneca Allegany Casino and all I have to say is wow!!!!!!! I can't believe the way these guys still sound!!!! The harmonies of Randy, Jeff, and Teddy alone were outstanding!!!!! Didn't even need any band or instruments themselves as good as they sounded singing together!!!!! So all the other band members were icing on the cake!!!!! THEY SOUNDED PHENOMENAL!!!!!!!! They just have a great stage presence and a very entertaining show. I was laughing my butt off at some of the things they came up with between songs!!!!! These are just some plain good ole hometown boys that you can see still have a great time making music. My main intention was to take my girlfriend to the show as she's been a gigantic Alabama fan her whole life, and I've always liked them, but after last night, I AM A HUGE FAN!!!!!!!!!!! Will definitely go see them again if they get close to my area!!!!!!! KEEP ON KEEPIN' ON ALABAMA!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!.... and thank you so much for the music!!!!!!!!!!!!
The show was better than I thought it would be. The opening act was good also.
Thought it was going to rain and be a miserable night but the rain held off and we enjoyed an awesome show. Unexpectedly Luke Bryan showed up and sang with Alabama which was awesome. This was the first time I had seen Alabama in concert and was not disappointed!
2nd greatest concert I've ever been to:) The absolute BEST concert EVER was the first time I saw Alabama three years ago in Tuscaloosa to benefit tornado victims:).
ALABAMA was Awesome. They sounded just as good as they did 20 years ago. Hope to see them again in the near future. I LOVE ALABAMA!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
They did not have the spirit they used to have. Really disappointed. I really liked this group and I still do. But, they're not as hungry as when first starting out. Used to have so much passion.
Alabama was awesome! I wanted to see them my whole life and they did not disappoint! Randy was cutting up like he was still in his 20s and Jeff still plays the fiddle like nobody's business! They were well worth the wait! ROLL ON!
Great performance. The crowd was wild and sang every song with the band. Thanks for coming back Alabama!!!
The Alabama concert at The Wharf was absolutely awesome. We drove from North Carolina to see them. To hear classic Alabama in person one more time was the absolute BEST! This was my first time to attend an event at The Wharf and I was very impressed with the facilities and the staff were very helpful and friendly. Even the rain did not dampen my experience. It was great and everyone around me seemed to feel the same.
I grew up listening to ALabama. Spent my sweet 16 at June Jam. Loved them then and even more now. Sold out Crowd even with the rain. Randy You know you have dedicated fans with they show up wearing rain ponchos just to see the show. I love all the old songs but was hoping to catch a glimpse of the new album. Was a little shocked that nothing new was played expecially since its been so long since a new Album has been released.
