About

AJR IN CONCERT:

New York-based brother band AJR is generating significant buzz with their unique blend of barbershop harmonies, dubstep beats, and internet-savvy lyrical references. The trio's success with debut single "I'm Ready" has inevitably drawn comparisons to fellow brother outfit Hanson, but AJR's eclectic sound and DIY approach put them in a category all their own. From bright handclaps and playful samples to energetic ukulele and guitar strumming, AJR have crafted an endlessly creative sound that always leaves fans wanting more on their unforgettable tours.

BACKGROUND SNAPSHOT:

AJR is comprised of brothers Adam, Jack, and Ryan Met. The native New Yorkers got their start as street performers, playing covers of songs by the Beach Boys and Vampire Weekend in parks around Manhattan. The brothers released their  debut single "I'm Ready" in 2013, tweeting it out to a number of celebrities in the hopes of getting discovered. The tactic worked -- the song caught the eye of SIA, who helped AJR secure a management deal. As the group's reputation continued to grow, they made their first TV appearances with performances on Good Day New York and VH1's Big Morning Buzz show. In late 2013 AJR released the I'm Ready EP, a solid debut that earned them opening slots on tour with big-name acts like Demi Lovato and the Wanted. A rising young act with talent to the gills, AJR have ticket buyers eagerly awaiting their upcoming tour dates.

My first time seeing AJR, and they did not disappoint. Incredible energy!! And they sincerely connected with the audience in a way that is exceptionally hard on stadium shows. Will definitely see them next time they are in town!

    Blew my expecations

by Parent with kid on 4/30/24Climate Pledge Arena - Seattle

Well, that was awesome! As a parent bringing their kid to their first ever big concert, my expectations were not super high! The show, however, was way better than I anticipated. What a great band, use of technology and inclusiveness, bringing everyone together for a great message and wonderful time. I appreciate how AJR interacted with the audience, played in the audience, appreciated its concert goers and shared positive messages. Exceeded my expectations! Thank you

    Fun event

by Tiny violin on 4/30/24Climate Pledge Arena - Seattle

So fun to watch a band that has strived over the years and see them be successful. AJR was a fun energetic concert with a great stage performance. I loved how they incorporated being with the crowd as a metaphor to them being there at one time and not forgetting that it’s about the fans. It was great to go to a concert and not breath smoke and marijuana all night. The crowd was there to have a good time and remember it than go to get wasted. A great band with lots of energy.

    Authentic & Fun!

by Heidi Pat on 4/29/24Climate Pledge Arena - Seattle

The fun, authentic energy AJR brings is contagious and I could have listened to them for 3 more hours. I wondered how they could top their tour from 2 years ago, but I was blown away. They are not only gifted artists, but also stellar entertainers. I cannot wait for them to come back again!

    Awesome Experience

by Jewels on 4/29/24Climate Pledge Arena - Seattle

This show exceeded my expectations in every way possible. The use of the projections, lights, storytelling, and energy combined to give the audience one of the best shows of our lives. I'm someone who loves a high energy show and this was just that. I wasn't expecting it to be such a great show in all honesty but I found myself out of my seat singing lyrics and sitting in my seat trying to not cry at particular moments. I went with a friend who does not listen to AJR and even they were very impressed by the show. I saw people of all ages, it was so refreshing to see everyone mingling and just having a good time. One of the best concerts I've ever been to. I am considering going to another one of their shows later in the summer!

    First Official Kiddos' Concert

by PNWMusicJunkies on 4/29/24Climate Pledge Arena - Seattle

We bought 4 AJR tickets for our two tween kiddos for Xmas.. Our husband and I were excited to share this first large concert event with both our 11 & 13 year old. Our son really enjoys AJR and of course, his sister is exposed and likes the music as well. My husband and I were actually surprised by how much we enjoyed the band's music, performance, energy and message.. We couldn't wipe the grins off our faces! Creative beats, instrumental ensembles, deep introspective lyrics, stunning visual effects and their on-stage energy, coupled with their audience interaction really pushed it over the edge for us! I couldn't recommend seeing this band enough! WHAT A SPECTACULAR SHOW! Thank you, Thank you, Thank you!!

    AJR Wins!

by Fun, creative, and just a bleeping good time! on 4/29/24Climate Pledge Arena - Seattle

I hope this band knows the impact they have on neurodivergent kids. My kid with autism had the best time and wants to see it again. Heck, I do too. This show was so much fun!!

    Amazingly awesome!

    by Fishface20 on 4/29/24Moda Center - Portland

AJR put on an amazing show! All the digital art and lights were very well done! It takes you on a journey with them. I love the lyrics, music, and the band. They tell stories about how they make music and their lives. Making it a personable experience as well. The only complaint I have is that sometimes the music was so loud we couldn't hear them singing. Overall a fantastically awesome concert! Definitely go again!

    Nosebleeds we're worth every penny

by Rai on 4/29/24Climate Pledge Arena - Seattle

This show was worth every penny we spent. The production was amazing. The screen interaction, lasers, pyrotechnics... The personality! It all made the whole experience incredible. Even from the back row. More than impressed.

Way higher production value than expected

by Evan on 4/29/24Climate Pledge Arena - Seattle

AJR really went all out on creating a memorable show for the new tour. Pretty much every song in the first half had some elaborate set piece going on (mostly the Maybe Man songs). Also did not expect a live trumpeter and live violinist, they helped it outperform recorded songs a lot. Some parts of the show were pretty out of place with the rest of the show, but it's just Jack being genuinely himself, which is "kinda a weird guy", so it's cool. Also a lot of their slower songs don't fit in well inbetween the hits, but they managed it decently.
