best music, could have gone til the end of night

    by Jennifer111 on 3/28/104th and B - San Diego

The whole package and the bigger picture of that picture. Will you run away if I try to be true? Nothing was for certain, I had my mind stimulated, expanded, brought to euphoria, and still a sense of loss and confusion. Astrological split second analysis brought new insights, but need testing. Wanted to be there all night, got sidetracked since I'm use to having no social life besides school and family... Wanted to talk to the boys, However I have not been formally introduced, so we just gave eyes Merci, let's get it more truthful, and if it does, and spend some really TTTTT time together Merci

Never been so impressed with musicians ever, and AIR just made the night unforgettable. I would definitely fly to France just to see them again.

AIR: You had to be there!

    by Brandon86 on 3/28/104th and B - San Diego

THE World famous French Duo, AIR, a backronym for Armour Imagination and Reve, which translates to Love, Imagination and Dream, captivated a packed house at 4th and B last night. Their mellow style and ambient inspired electronica jazz mesmerized the entire audience from the first song to the last note where they finished with a lengthy and groovy rendition of "La Femme D'Argent" from the Moon Safari LP. Other hits from their new LP Love2 like "Light is her Footfall" and older classics like "Kelley Watch the Stars" help to round out what really was one of the best shows I have ever seen. Bon Voyage AIR, but please come back next year!! Thanks 4th and B and Ticketmaster.

    Blinded by the light

by mlovgren on 3/28/10Fox Theater - Oakland - Oakland

I was wondering how this show would be, considering the music from AIR is mostly electronic and created/produced by two people. But by only adding in a drummer, and a few pre-recorded bits, they were able to recreate their songs brilliantly. An added plus was their use of lights and the video screen (loved Pong on there).

Air was superbly French last night!

by bereweber on 3/28/104th and B - San Diego

one of the best shows I've seen at the 4th & B, Air played songs from their new album but old time favorites too... plenty from Moon Safari, the lights, the music, and the sandiegan public made of it an amazing show merci beaucoup Air!!

    Air blew my mind

Amazing performance. Sounded even better live. Saw them at Coachella a few years back but the beautiful Fox theatre in Oakland made this concert even more special and intimate.

Great musicians! Unable to hear them.

by innatelife on 3/27/10Fox Theater - Oakland - Oakland

Air is a dreamy French band who I have seen and enjoyed in the past. This time, however, the music was so loud that the individual sounds were indiscernable. There was a lot of happy smoke in the air and maybe the rest of the audience just inhaled themselves into a deep grove. I must say that had the sound quality been better I really would have enjoyed the show as I did 10 years ago when seeing Air. Unfortunately, we left early.

    Don't Be Light

    by Nob01 on 3/27/10Fox Theater - Oakland - Oakland

Air in concert was pretty extraordinary - though brief. The event was held in the beautiful Fox Theater, which is an event in itself, and the supporting act, AM, rose to the occasion, dropping some trippy beats with some retro-progressive vibes - loved it. Then Air came out and didn't disappoint. They played everything I hoped they would (with the exception of Playground Love) and managed to retain the mellowness of the songs while giving them a new, tougher jacket to wear. At 90 minutes, the set seemed a tad too short, but overall I loved it.

    Too short of a performance

    by chelc123 on 3/27/10Fox Theater - Oakland - Oakland

They only played a few songs..and until 1030. I thought the show was really cut short. These french men should know how to party late. I thought the quality of music was great but they were only on stage for an hour and a half.

Electronic artistes are best heard on CD

by AirFan on 3/27/10Fox Theater - Oakland - Oakland

Well, my opinion on electronic artistes remain unchanged. They work best when they are in a studio and their best sound comes on pre-recorded CDs. Unless, they have some cool way to show the live audience what they are playing, (probably a screen that shows they keyboard, vocoder, moog or whatever Air plays on), there's no point in going for a live concert. Many classics like Venus, Cherry Blossom Girl, Alpha Beta Gaga, Kelly Watch the Stars just lacked the lush soundscapes when heard live at the Fox theatre. They were dumbed down versions of their studio output. Dont get me wrong, i am Air's greatest fan and still love them. Amen.

    Très chic et amusant!

by PetiteHibou on 3/27/10Fox Theater - Oakland - Oakland

The Fox looks amazing! It's my first time there since the renovation, and it's fantastic. AM was a great, laid back opener for Air. And Air...what can I say? Air was air - dressed in (almost) all white, great but unobtrusive background graphics, and a very well planned set list. All in all, a perfect evening. Also, I was very impressed with the staff at the Fox: the bar had quick service, the staff was friendly in providing directions, and they worked swiftly to get the crowd into the venue while still doing security and ID checks.
