    Air + Epic = Airpic!

by Hollabackmerle on 3/31/10Walt Disney Concert Hall - Los Angeles

Amazing venue. The sound and acoustics are incredible. It was like CD quality. Very personal venue. The visuals plus the music was the best ever! I didn't want this night to end.

Air was incredible! This is by far, the best venue I have ever been to, and the acoustics were absolutely amazing. So much so, that I could have actually done with less amplified sound since the room carries so well. The light displays were perfect for the tone too.

    AIR was unreal!

by chirish on 3/30/10Fox Theater - Oakland - Oakland

One of the best shows I've ever been to, and the Fox Theatre made it that much better. I felt like they were playing just for me, it was a very intimate setting. Venus, Cherry Blossom Girl, Alpha Beta Gaga, Alone in Kyoto... they brought back the best as well as rocking the new album.

Air is so chill and amazing

by Laritalarita on 3/30/10Fox Theater - Oakland - Oakland

My favorite part was the way the crowd seemed to chill and sway together as one, everyone seemed to be on the same level and enjoying the relaxation and penetrating music. The music almost felt like a massage to the senses and the body! Very talented group.

    Mesmerizing performance but lackluster venue

by MichelleProse on 3/29/10Walt Disney Concert Hall - Los Angeles

Don't get me wrong - the Walt Disney Concert Hall is a delight for the senses - architecturally sensual curves everywhere, the feel that you're in an elite artistic world. But this was my first time there and I had been fantasizing about it for so long, that I expected much better. Perhaps service that matches the austerity of the structure, at least! Staff members were not as helpful as we would have liked - our elusive door #11 kept seeming to be on "the other side" and after walking all over the whole place a few times and asking around, we finally got a straight, clear answer as to how to get to our seats. After figuring it out, we decided to head to the bar since intermission was already about to start, and we couldn’t be seated during a song, only in between. I liked that policy actually, to prevent bothering other guests. But the rest of the things we noticed just didn’t match that thoughtfulness at all. There were only TWO bartenders working the bar at this event - I'm not sure if there is another bar somewhere but it seemed we were at the only one as I didn't see any others while hunting for our door. The line was huge and there was an extra staff member just telling people which line to follow as they got to the front. My thought - instead of having someone just stand around and direct people in line, why not have an extra bartender to actually make some drinks? That would have made the line go a lot faster! Then we get up to the bartender who mentions that THEY ARE TOTALLY OUT OF BEER. What!?! That woman directing the line couldn't have told us that way back there? In fact, there was the “line director” and someone going down the line to make sure people knew it was “cash only.” So two people could have been giving us the no-beer disclaimer! We were appalled. What a classy-looking joint with some real horrible service. No consideration for our enjoyment of the evening. Disheartened, we settled for wine and went to sit down. However, it took so long to get our drinks, that intermission was already ending and we practically had to chug them before going to sit down since drinks aren't allowed in the theater! Chugging beer may have been ok but wine isn't exactly a frat party drink. We tried leaving one glass outside on a table with a card on top, asking the door man if he could make sure no one threw it out. To his credit and our delight, that worked out and we were smug as we got out of the show amid everyone else, who were empty-handed. Now, through all this poor experience, which made us none-too-excited to revisit the Disney Hall, once we got to our seats and sat down to watch the show, we were mesmerized! The minimal beauty and effortless cool (or shall I say, "je ne sais quoi") of the venue's aesthetic really highlighted Air's vibe. Our seats were pretty high up but with the risers being on such a vertical slope we were easily able to look down at the band and actually had a very nice view. The view was made even better by the fact that lights and video were being projected onto the stage from above, over the performers, making even the "nosebleed" section engaging. The effects were so perfectly timed and paced that they created an altogether psychedelic experience with the music. We were very happy in that theater, absorbed in a new world - the world according to Air. Overall, it was a fantastic experience and definitely worth it. However, my expectations and fantasies for the Disney Hall were dashed to bits when nothing seemed to go right for us. The performance distracted us momentarily but I don't think we'll soon forget how the other parts of the experienced left such a horrible taste in our mouth.

    Air

by Alchemy101 on 3/29/10Walt Disney Concert Hall - Los Angeles

everything was great, the DCH is a beautiful venue to see anything. the sound system seemed like it couldn't handle the bass, and the graphics set up could have been better. overall a great performance, but the hollywood bowl show a few years ago was better all around. I'd see AIR anywhere.

    4th n B is the place to B

by Geeeeee on 3/29/104th and B - San Diego

Listen, if you guys are like me where you like small venues to watch and listen to concerts, 4th and B is really the place to be! Good crowd non-rowdy, many spots for a great viewing and most important the sound, very clear and clean.

    Air was flawless!!

by Anonymous on 3/29/10Walt Disney Concert Hall - Los Angeles

I was a bit skeptical before the show knowing that their last two shows I saw at Coachella and the Greek Theatre were subpar, but there was no disappointment in last night's show. They proved that they could rebound and perform up to their potential. Every song had verve and gusto while the Disney accentuated their masterful sounds. The show was mesmorizing and delightful!!

    AIR

by Anonymous on 3/29/104th and B - San Diego

Amazing show. Amazing band. Amazing venue. Crowd was kinda boring. You could tell they were not huge fans or that they dislike dancing. Either way, AIR always makes me leave happy and refreshed.

    Fresh Air

by iamleisuremandotcom on 3/29/10Walt Disney Concert Hall - Los Angeles

I really enjoyed Air with local musician AM this Sunday at Disney Concert Hall. I wonder if it's the most rocking concert yet at that venue? I ask that, because they didn't have enough bars to satisfy the thirsty patrons during intermission. Aside from that, the Disney Concert Hall is an amazing place to see a show, the sound is incredible. Air played most of the hits I have loved for the past 10 years from many of their great albums. The French band had "trippy", as my girlfriend put it, visuals as well.

    Exquisite

    by JohnnySweatpants1 on 3/29/10Fox Theater - Oakland - Oakland

My one complaint about AIR is that their albums can be too polished or sterile for my blood. In concert they are a different beast altogether. Very psychadelic and at times hypnotic, AIR worked their way backwards through their impressive catalog (5 solid albums) culminating in cuts from the now classic Moon Safari. The Fox Theater has emerged as one of the best and most reliable Bay Area venues for good music.

    Fantastic night with Air

by JMMinLA on 3/29/10Walt Disney Concert Hall - Los Angeles

An almost perfect concert if you like Air. The opening act (AM) was a great fit for the main act. I'd never heard his music before, but I'll check out his albums now. Twenty minutes after AM finished, Air came on and played for an hour and a half. The acoustics of the Disney Concert Hall were perfect for the sounds of Air. They played a lot of new songs from Love 2, which I think is so-so, but they sounded a lot better live. They also played some of their classics and people went nuts. They ended with La Femme d'Argent, which is my favorite, but which I never thought I'd hear live. The lights were very nice too. At one point, when they played Alone in Kyoto, it looked like sparks or fireflies were gently falling all around them. Went home very happy and I'll remember the gig for a long time.

Air - Band was great, venue not so much

by Sweathog21 on 3/29/10Walt Disney Concert Hall - Los Angeles

Air is a great live act, but having an amplified band at the Disney Hall hasn't really been proven to work well yet. The first few songs were very hard to hear clearly. Later on, the sound crew figured out what frequencies to cut out (mostly low) and it sounded much better (much less muddy). I love Air, but at the Disney Hall they sounded like they were playing in a school basketball gym and with the entire audience in seats, the vibe was a bit weird – it took a while before people seemed to enjoy it. But that didn't keep one old guy from dancing on the side of the floor seats. That's me. I know a few people who said it sounded great, but I think they were mostly talking about the band, not the sound itself. The only thing the Disney Hall added was a cool classical vibe and aesthetically pleasing atmosphere, but the sound quality didn't really match. There were some great moments musically throughout the night. But I especially loved when a thick synth bass line was played that over powered other lines or was played by itself. One other thing. I was really impressed what they were able to do with only three guys. Usually they play with at least five. JB and Nicolas really were amazing at holding down multiple parts at the same time.

Air at Walt disney - AMAZING!

by MrAlex on 3/29/10Walt Disney Concert Hall - Los Angeles

This was a fantastic concert, just amazing. The acoustics were incredible and the band sounded studio perfect. Believe it or not this was my first time ever seeing anything at the Walt Disney auditorium, I've never seen any of the philharmonic stuff there. They need to do more amplified rock shows there. Air is the perfect band for that venue because they aren't a loud band. They make chill out/trip out music, but its got live drumming so in my opinion its still rock music. PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE start doing more rock shows at this venue. I would pay any amount of money to see Radiohead or Tool or Muse or any other arena level band play in this venue. The only thing that needs work is that the lines for the bar were so long because they didin't have enough bars. That is expected though, because this is a rock crowd and not a philharmonic crowd. Different demographic than they are usually setup for.

    Love Air, HATED the venue

by scaught on 3/29/104th and B - San Diego

While I love the group Air, the show Saturday night was ruined by the awful venue, 4th and B, San Diego CA. I would say 50% of the people in attendance were not fans of the group Air and took to yelling to each other for most of the show. I see about 12 concerts a year and this was, hands-down, the rudest bunch of concert attendees I've ever encountered. From constant pushing and shoving their way to get to a better vantage point, to the endless chatter, these San Diego "fans" were the worst. They ruined what would have been a nice show. I will never attend another concert at 4th and B again.

    Air was magnific!!

by LOLV on 3/28/104th and B - San Diego

The concert was great, they played songs from diferent records, obviusly the most comercial ones but diferent. They are an amazing group with great music and have a pretty good show. The only thing I didn´t like was the venue because it was sofocated. The opening group was pretty good also. Nice visuals and very good audio.
