After 7 on Tour
After 7 has been topping charts and electrifying stages with their distinctive R&B swagger for over three decades. Today, Kevon Edmonds, Keith Mitchell and Danny McClain serenade audiences with buttery smooth vocals and laid-back beats reminiscent of the old-school party vibes of the '90s. With four Top 10 R&B/hip-hop albums under their belts, the trio returns to the stage in 2022 for the aptly named Unfinished Business Tour. After 7 Live in Concert
After 7 was formed in 1988 by Indiana University students and future R&B stars Melvin Edmonds, Kevon Edmonds and Keith Mitchell. Brothers Melvin and Kevon were no strangers to fame as the older siblings of the legendary Kenneth "Babyface" Edmonds. With a whole lot of talent and a little help from their younger brother, the trio was able to land a deal with Virgin Records in 1989 to produce their self-titled debut album. The group quickly rose to stardom with "Heat of the Moment" reaching No. 5 on the Billboard R&B chart. Throughout the '80s and '90s, After 7's hot streak continued as their self-titled album After 7 went platinum in 1989 and Takin' My Time achieved gold status in 1992. The group split after 1995's Reflections to take a 20-year break from recording, but thankfully regrouped to tour in the mid-2000s. In 2016, After 7 hit the studio once again to release their fourth album Timeless. The group's lineup has changed over time, most notably after the death of original member Melvin Edmonds in 2019. However, the trio was restored when Danny McClain joined leading up to the release of Unfinished Business in 2021. After 7 is an NAACP Image Award recipient and have been nominated for a Grammy and American Music Award.
I enjoyed this event. The acts put on a great show. The Dell is great as well because there really aren't many bad seats, even in the back, because of the video screens. Great price and pleasant experience!
They put on a show that travel thru time...from the beginning to the end. Voices and sound was great!

I've been a fan of After 7 from their beginning. This concert did not disappoint. My home fellas' sound is as mellow as ever!
My husband and I enjoyed the show. It was AWESOME!!! After 7 did their thing on staff. The sound great. AND..... they sang the songs as they recorded the songs. BONUS!!!! Not to mention.....they looked GREAT! I will definitely go see them again.

After 7 was awesome, Tony Toni Tone was more like a horrible cover band.

This was a great concert. After 7 did all of their hits plus some that you didn't know they sang background on. Tony Toni Tone was good but it got loud. But that is how Soundboard advertises! Show was late getting started but worth the trip from Columbus!
The refreshing sounds of After 7 is back and their performance was worth every penny that I paid. If you haven’t seen them in years, go see them. They performed a good number of their old hits in their entirety and their new hits from their current album. The crowd did not want them to leave the stage.
The only reason I was satisfied is because I really only wanted to see After 7. They performed first and were great! Unfortunately, the same cannot be said about Tony Toni Tone. Ridiculous wardrobes, appearing to forget lyrics, and their voices didn’t match the sound that everyone would expect to hear. All the extra flair they attempted wouldn’t be necessary if they had the quality.
After 7 still sounds great 20 years later! Their stage presence, attire and overall performance was very good! I felt they should have headlined the show instead of Tony, Toni Tone. With 2 of the original 3 member gone, Tony, Toni, Tone was a big disappointment! It was a very chaotic performance and I would never pay to see them again. After 7, however, I would definitely see them live again!
After 7 sounded great. They sang all the songs you would expect plus a couple good surprises. If you are a fan they are a definite to see in concert.
Refreshing to hear real R&B that resonates in your soul
Oh my goodness, what a show. After 7 is my favorite group. They get better with time. I have seen them on two other occasions, but this show was the absolute bomb. They were not dressed in their usual suits and ties( to my surprise). They were very very casually dressed and even had on sneakers. They rocked the house. I have been a fan since they came out in1989. I really miss Melvin(even though he’s on the album), but I must say that his son, Jason really did his thing ( you do your father proud) and blends really well with Kevon and Keith. Sony Hall is a great venue for a concert of this type. All I can say, is bring After 7 back to Sony Hall and I’ll be there.
After 7 at the Sony Hall this weekend was Awesome. I danced and sand through every song. The venue and ambiance was great. I would love to see them again very soon...

I went to the Summer 17 Throwback to see After 7, but I NEVER got to see them. While Case was performing, the weather took a turn for the worse. Lightning started and they stopped the show. The rain was very hard and we never got to see the MAIN ACT. I had a good time watching TOTAL/CASE perform but I NEVER had the opportunity to see AFTER 7, maybe one day. Thank you for offering this show, what I did see, I enjoyed, but I wish I could have seen more. EB
