The Illusionists has become the best-selling magic show in Broadway history selling $2.1 million in one week followed by a smash-hit US and world tour. We all (6 of us) were a little disappointed. We thought the show was very cheesy! We thought the magic tricks should have been a little more complicated than mostly with cards.
Wonderful show, perfect for kids! Adam constantly engaged the audience, was gracious and used humor as it is supposed to be used. We laughed, were amazed and totally embraced by this lovely man. It was the perfect birthday gift for a grandmother to give her grandson....and herself!
His illusions were flawless and he has a very funny way of performing so that you were always laughing as well as being amazed.
There are magic shows that have more production and more magicians, but not even close to as funny or enjoyable as this one. We hadn't heard of Adam Trent previously, but his show far surpassed all expectations. His charsima on stage is on par with Jimmy Fallon, or even a Michael Buble. Truly spectacular.
Great magic. Great humor. Great value. Not to be missed.
This was an amazing show of tricks, illusions, and clean family-friendly humor! A must see for everyone young and old. Very entertaining from beginning to end with lots of visual effects, great music, and of course magic! I have two complaints however: the close-up hand tricks were hard to see, and the large screen did not help much. The image on the screen was not clear and often too dim to make out. Second, there really wasn’t much promotion for this event. I think it could have easily been a sold out event had more people known about it and known that it is a very family-friendly event. It’s too bad so many missed out on such a great night!
The show was interactive and Adam was a funny person which was good. However, some tricks were not at the level that people expected so clapping wasn't always as loud as it should've been.
He was hilarious, enchanting and fast pace. It was a show for all ages and he was willing to talk and take pictures with fans, that's fantastic!
Compare to last year Illusionists show this performance did not meet my expectations
Went with my wife and 2 daughters (22 and 19) to spend time together as a family and enjoy some magic. Adam did not disappoint. Very personable and audience-interactive. Clean and fun. Mix of audience ages. From my perspective on the floor (probably a little too close and on the righthand side), I think there were a couple of illusions that weren't as enjoyable as they were to people in the balconies or high up. Next time I would move back and higher up. Definitely worth seeing. Good wow factor.
We attended an evening performance at the Cadillac Palace downtown Chicago on St. Patrick's Day. It is a beautiful theatre. The show did not live up to the venue. Adam Trent had a few good magic tricks, but nothing I had not already seen him do on You Tube. His show might appeal to an 8 year old, but was otherwise rather lackluster for the adults in the audience. I would not recommend making a special trip downtown to see this show. Adam Trent is a very nice young man, but the show needs a lot of work to be brought up to the standards of a "Broadway in Chicago" presentation.
The venue was awesome.Adam was,funny and great show for kids but not at all what we expected from a illusionist show at this price on Chicago Waste of money..Thought was going to be like a Vegas show..not at all

Incredible show! Very entertaining mixture of music and magic. The magic kept us on the edge of our seat all night, while complimented by a good balance of music and humor. I would recommend this show to anyone, from an adult date night to a memorable family night, you will not be disappointed!
The Theater is INCREDIBLE! Great venue. The show was pretty entertaining and lots of fun! Not mind-blowing fun, but fun for a night out. A solid 3.5 stars out of 5. For me, the show had too many digital effects, projectors, videos, and phone interaction. If I wanted to play with my phone or watch YouTube, I would have not gone to the theater.
If you wanna be bored & watch a man do corny fake tricks for an hour go ahead.
If you like magic this is a must see show. Great show from beginning to end.
More acting than actual tricks, but it was fun and entertaining. A little pricey for the type of tricks performed but my group had a lot of laughs and great time. Venue was great.
Very entertaining. My Wife and I thoroughly enjoyed the evening.
