The Illusionists has become the best-selling magic show in Broadway history selling $2.1 million in one week followed by a smash-hit US and world tour. Adam Trent inaugurated the first two record-breaking Broadway runs on the US tour, becoming the face for most of the national and local press – including the NBC primetime TV special. Adam was more a performer of comedy and special effects. All the bright lights and loud sound effects, along with personal stories and pictures of himself as a boy, distracted the audience from the reason they paid money for- to witness magic and illusion. The hype and smokescreens did not mask the fact there was no great magic presented.
The best show I have seen in a long time! It was the first time I have seen Adam Trent and I’m hooked! He is a awesome showman!
First let me say that my girlfriend and I love magic and were really looking forward to this show. We saw Adam Trent on the Today Show and thought he was great, but I don't know where to start on how disappointing his live performance was. Right from the start, very predictable tricks with clearly planted props. The presentation and jokes were poorly executed. Finally we drew the line with his "I wanted to be in a boy band" skit, right before the intermission. The last trick before intermission should WOW the audience, wanting them to come back for a great second half. Instead, Adam pretended to go back in time in this"trick" He was "running" in place on a clearly visible treadmill with gimmicky special lighting effects around him, the end. Just terrible.... Maybe it fooled the children and grandparents in the audience, but I don't know how anyone in between could bare it.
Very good show. Mostly close up hand illusions. Big screen TV made it easy for those toward the back of the theater to enjoy the show. Lots of audience participation. I think this type of show would be better in a smaller venue but very enjoyable none the less. I would rate the show 4-stars.

Don't walk, run to see this. Really didn't know what to expect going in, I've never been the biggest magician fan, but this is the epitome of the perfect show for the entire family. My wife and I have never laughed so hard and had so much fun in a theatre. The magic is absolutely spectacular, but his comedic timing is uncanny. His stage presence and command of the audience is second to none
It was a great night. Good clean humor and incredible magic. I love attending the Fox Theater. It's a historic site and never disappoints.
The close up slight of hand stuff was awesome. Many of the illusions were stupid and didn't provide much of an illusion. Not much of it was in-between. I got to say my 9 year old thought it was cool but there were not enough wow moments in the performance. Not worth the money I spent in my opinion.
Adam Trent was amazing! The sound and lighting were awesome as well as the magic. Adam engaged the audience which was super cool!
Adam and his crew did a superb job entertaining the audience! I would highly recommend going to see him the next time he is in town. He is the upcoming David Copperfield!
I was surprised that Adam Trent's comedy is nearly on par with his magic. He put on a really entertaining show that audiences of all ages (literally - my 75-year-old parents were with me and my wife and our three pre-teen children) will love.
Adam Trent did some amazing magic that I am still trying to figure out how it happened. Just as importent though was his stage presence and personality that made for a very enjoyable evening!
My husband and I took our three kids to the show, ages 7, 6 and 3. We all loved it. It started at 7:30, so the three year old fell asleep with just 20 minutes left but otherwise watched the whole show.
This show was very entertaining. Great music, magic, and comedy. Perfect for the whole family. Loved the audience participation sections.
What fun and amazement Adam brings to every show. He shares his gifts and heart with every person in every audience. If you like fun, you will love attending Adam’s show! So GO!!

Cool magic, both big and small. Loved how hw went in and out of the video! Plus he is funny.
One of the best live acts this year. I would recommend for everyone to watch and it was fun
