Ace Frehley Live in Concert

Born Paul Daniel "Ace" Frehley in Bronx, New York, Ace Frehley started playing the guitar at 13. He never went to a music school, nor did he ever take a guitar lesson since every member of his family played instruments. He spent the early '70s in a series of local bands. In 1973, he co-founded the American rock band KISS. He departed the band in 1982 and went on to lead a successful solo career. His 1978 solo output -- KISS: Ace Frehley (released as part of the KISS solo albums) -- went platinum. In 1984, he assembled, amongst others, drummer Anton Fig and bassist John Regan to form a group with a name that alternated between Ace Frehley and Frehley's Comet. This group recorded a series of demos throughout 1984 and 1985, and performed their first-ever live show at S.I.R. Studios in New York City on November 30, 1984. In 1987 he released Frehley's Comet and it charted on the Billboard 200. He subsequently returned to KISS in 1996 for a highly successful reunion tour. In 2004, he tied with Paul Stanley at No. 14 on Guitar World's list of the 100 Greatests Heavy Metal Guitarists of All Time. Frehley's influences include artists such as Jimi Hendrix and Albert Lee, among others. In 2014, Frehley, along with the original members of KISS, were inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. His 2020 solo album Origins, Vol. 2, charted on the Billboard 200.

This has to go up there as one of my all time greatest concert experiences !, The set list couldn't have been better , ACE along with his band sounded killer !!! House of Blues in Atlantic City is just one of those places that you can't go wrong no matter where your sitting !!!!

  • Ace was good, but late

    by acefan99 on 11/2/11Showcase Live - FoxboroRating: 3 out of 5

I'm a huge KISS and Ace fan. I was excited to go, but before 9pm the announcer mentioned that Ace had not arrived yet. He finally took the stage between 10:10 and 10:15. Given it was a Monday night and most of the fans had to work the next morning, you could sense some frustration. I'll drop a star due to all of this nonsense.

  • Ace Was Amazing

by facemelter on 11/2/11Showcase Live - FoxboroRating: 5 out of 5

I've always been a huge Kiss/Ace Frehley fan and the opening band the Biters was a perfect act to precede Ace. My only complaint was that Ace didn't start the show until almost quarter past 10. Other that the show was kickass I highly recommend to anyone who wants there minds blown.

  • Ace Rocked the House of Blues AC!!

by Soup77 on 10/31/11House of Blues Atlantic City - Atlantic CityRating: 5 out of 5

Ace played many classic Kiss songs he wrote as well as other kiss classics!! He also performed a few songs from his new cd Anomaly as well as a few of his Kiss solo songs . There is not a bad seat in the House of Blues in AC.

  • Ace was ace!

by AndreasSweden on 10/31/11B.B. King Blues Club and Grill - New YorkRating: 5 out of 5

Great show! Coming from another country to see Ace live in his hometown was amazing! It was great to see him so up-close compared to the KISS gigs where you didn't get that intimate feeling. B.B. King's is perfect for concerts! Great sound! The only thing you and or B.B. Kings' and/or the bands should change, is the camera rules. I work as a photographer and brought my professional camera. I was told that you can't take pictures with flash or with a professional camera. And you can't do video. Now, what do 99.99 percent of the people have? Mobile phones or pocket cameras that both do video and fire of a flash! Quite contradictory, don't you think?

  • Ace Frehley still ROCKS!!!

by RacerGirl83 on 10/31/11House of Blues Atlantic City - Atlantic CityRating: 5 out of 5

Ace can still rock the house. Anthony Esposito kicks ass and sounds like a young Gene Simmons. They played just as good as they did last time they were at the House of Blues. The show was AWESOME! There was even a guy in a full Space Ace costume.

  • great show

was great to see ace and hear some kiss songs that they simply wont play/dont play anymore! only wish he would have put a few more solo songs into his set but otherwise was a great fun show!

  • Get Your KISS Fix with Ace

by KISSfiend13 on 10/30/11House of Blues Atlantic City - Atlantic CityRating: 4 out of 5

As a fan of all eras of KISS, seeing Ace Frehley live is a nice treat. His setlist always consists of old KISS songs -- some that Ace didn't even originally sing -- so you never have to worry that you are going to see a show of post-KISS era solo songs that you might not know. Ace gives fans their KISS fix at a reasonable ticket price so I'd definitely recommend people getting out to an Ace Frehley show when he comes to your town.

  • He still got it!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

by Smoth on 10/30/11House of Blues Atlantic City - Atlantic CityRating: 5 out of 5

Ace is one of my childhood hero's!!! To see him live w my son and two friends in the 2nd row was unbelievable!!!!!!!!!!!!! I also caught 2 guitar pics!!!!!!!!!!!-his trademark!!!!!! And yes! I have to say it............THEY WERE LOUDER THAN KISS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Ill see him again if i get the chance. The house of blues is a beautiful facility and staff was attentive to my child and I.

  • Great Show, Ace on top of his game!

by DevilsChargers on 10/30/11House of Blues Atlantic City - Atlantic CityRating: 5 out of 5

Great mix of older and newer songs...alot of material usually not played live. Love it. Kiss needs to learn from Ace's set list selection!!!

  • by Guilha on 10/29/11B.B. King Blues Club and Grill - New YorkRating: 5 out of 5

Great performance!!! Ace played and sang really well, probably his best performance. It's wonderful to see how so much better he is when he's sober. Keep it up, Ace!

  • Ace has still got it!

by DeeBabyCack on 10/29/11B.B. King Blues Club and Grill - New YorkRating: 4 out of 5

What a great show! Ace gave his all. Despite FALLING OFF THE STAGE, Ace continued to plow through this set of great songs. His solos kicked ass, and the song selection was great!

  • 2 nights in row!!!!!!

Ace Frehley beyond a shadow of a doubt is a legend, a true rockstar and the greatest guitar player on earth. Very hard driving performance. I feel extremely fortunate to have witnessed his mastery once more.

Always something very special when one gets to see a living legend like Ace Frehley. Ace delivered the goods in spades!!!! Great show and an incredible time. Haven't had this great of a time since I was in the front row at MSG when KISS reunited....Seriously!!!!! Hope he comes back soon.
