About

AC/DC IN CONCERT:

With dozens of driving anthems and countless epic concerts under their belt, AC/DC has become one of the most successful and recognizable hard rock bands ever. Powerhouse numbers like "You Shook Me All Night Long," "Highway to Hell," and "Back in Black" get ticket buyers headbanging along from the first few iconic chords, while a pyrotechnic stage show complete with fireworks, Jumbotrons, and stacks of cranked amplifiers ensures the whole arena sees, hears, and feels the thunder from start to finish. Legendary duck-walking guitarist Angus Young keeps crowds pumped with his relentless energy, doling out crushing riffs and lightning-fast licks with swagger to spare. And on the 2016 Rock or Bust Tour, special guest vocalist Axl Rose of Guns N' Roses steps in to lend his trademark range to AC/DC's earth-shaking sound, bringing a new edge to their larger-than-life performances.

BACKGROUND SNAPSHOT:

Brothers Angus and Malcolm Young got the name AC/DC from the back of their sister Margret's sewing machine ñ the same one she used to sew the campy Catholic schoolboy uniform Angus used to wear on stage. The fledgling hard rockers started making a name for themselves in small Australian clubs in 1973, but things truly started to take off when they hooked up with wild-man singer Bon Scott the following year. Sadly, tragedy struck a few years later following the international success of 1979's Highway to Hell when Scott died after a night of heavy drinking. Encouraged by the support of the late singer's parents, the group doggedly carried on with new frontman Brian Johnson to complete work on their next album, Back in Black. Since its 1980 release, that album has sold an estimated 50 million copies worldwide on the back of quintessential rock staples like "You Shook Me All Night Long," "Hell's Bells," and the title track. The band maintained a steady recording and touring schedule for the next three decades before health issues began to take their toll. First Malcolm Young was forced to retire in 2014 with Parkinson's disease, then hearing loss sidelined Brian Johnson midway through their 2016 Rock or Bust Tour. AC/DC announced that Guns N' Roses frontman Axl Rose would finish the tour in Johnson's place, while the latter explored hearing aids that would allow him to rejoin the group in the future without further damaging his hearing (happily he noted that he'll still be able to record music). This never-say-die attitude over the past 40 plus years has further glorified AC/DC's legend for fans, who know they'll rock the stage no matter what.

ACDC put on a awesome show!

by PatsFanAlways on 7/29/09Gillette Stadium - Foxborough

Excellent show. Great show to see at Gillette Stadium since ACDC songs are always played at Patriots Games. It really added to much to hear them play the songs 'live'. The band put on a great show, and excellent song selections. From old songs to new songs, the place rocked all night. And of course the encore, was great (especially the fireworks)!!

by Cwiek on 7/29/09Gillette Stadium - Foxborough

Seriously, I knew this concert would rock but I can not believe how much they seriously rocked! One of the best concerts I have ever been to, top three! I have been to many concerts but this one blew it away by sheer entertainment value alone, not to mention how great they sounded!

    AC/DC at Gillette

by MikeKinFoxboro on 7/29/09Gillette Stadium - Foxborough

Angus Young is amazing. I can't believe he's still alive never mind playing guitar at an incredibly high level. The lead singer was losing his voice after three songs though. He did tough it out and finished the show. I thought he might not.... The rest of the band sounded great. If you're an AC/DC fan, you won't be disappointed......

    Best AC/DC show ever

by cillovely on 7/29/09Gillette Stadium - Foxborough

This was my 12th AC/DC show and by far the best I had ever been to. Brian Johnson's voice sounded great. There had been past shows that it sounded very rough, but not at this show. Angus was as awesome as ever, and considering they are all getting up in age I was really surprised at how much energy they all still had. They played a lot from the new album, which I think is one of thier best since For Those About to Rock.

    by Loneshooter007 on 7/29/09Gillette Stadium - Foxborough

great show. With the exception of some typical drunk knuckleheads who always annoy the hell out of me and think the concert is all about them, it was a great show. Band was right on. I liked the fall Garden show better but they rocked gillette.

AC/DC will blow your face off !!

    by LilDevil58 on 7/29/09tacoma dome - tacoma

. This is the most Electrifying, Balls to the Wall band ever in the history of Heavy Metal. Angus is still at the top of his mind bending chords. Brian is timeless in his vocals. Malcolm, Phil and Cliff keep the rhythm and beat together for a sound that will " BLOW YOUR FACE OFF"! Spend the money and grab a hold of your seat. You will never be the same ever again. Let there be Rock.. And there was ROCK !! The stage the opening cartoon and of course "Rosie" led up to that always incredible finish.. Cannons...FIRE !!! for a twenty one gun salute...

    AC/DC Rocks

by Titania on 7/27/09Mellon Arena - Pittsburgh

In one word the show was awesome. I like live music but even so I will say I almost liked the sound of this concert better than the CDs. Lights, fire, canons, a striptease... what can be better? AC/DC was so much awesome. Had I shelled out 150 or 200 at the last minute to get a ticket I would not have been disappointed. I've seen a lot of bands, AC/DC was by far one of the best so far. Better than the Rolling Stones. The only ones I will say were as good was Santana and seeing Genesis at the old Cleveland Municipal Stadium or Eric Clapton at the Cleveland Coliseum or Robert Plant at the Cleveland Symphony Hall.. maybe Dylan in the Flats. From the opening cartoon until the very last chord before the lights came on the place was rocking. The whole place got caught up in the band's energy during that first song. 3/4 of the packed, sold out arena, had on the light up horns. It was awesome how the vibe just hit with that first song. The energy between the crowd and the band showed a great amount of stage presence and charisma that I've never seen with any other band.
