AARON NEVILLE IN CONCERT:

Soul icon and New Orleans son Aaron Neville has been wooing fans with his rich, distinctive voice and charismatic showmanship for more than half a century, both as a solo performer and member of beloved family R&B group The Neville Brothers. At his live shows Neville is the epitome of soul style, commanding the stage in a debonair suit while he croons his way through favorites from his expansive discography, including beloved classics like "Stand By Me". His backing band is equally slick, turning out impressive yet restrained playing that allows Neville's velvety voice to shine. Fans enjoy every moment of the soulful strut down memory lane as this seasoned veteran ñleads the way with favorites like "The Grand Tour", "Tell It Like It Is", and "Don't Take Away My Heaven".

BACKGROUND SNAPSHOT:

New Orleans-born Aaron Neville began performing in the late ë50s and quickly became a local sensation thanks to his smooth, singular voice and emotional delivery. Regional success gave way to national attention in 1960 when his single ìOver Youî reached No. 21 on the R&B charts. He scored another major chart breakthrough in 1966 when his song ìTell It Like It Isî topped the charts, but the peak of his success came when he and his brothers formed The Neville Brothers in 1977. The group was an R&B powerhouse throughout the ë80s and ë90s, releasing a string of popular albums and earning a Grammy Award in 1989 for Best Pop Instrumental Performance for the song ìHealing Chantî. Aaron revived his solo career in the ë90s with the album Warm Your Heart, once again topping the charts with the soft rock No. 1 ìEverybody Plays the Foolî. Since then heís released a new album every few years while continuing to impress fans with his rich voice and time-honored showmanship whenever and wherever he performs.

So enjoyed seeing Aaron Neville in person. Beautiful voice. Did not enjoy the people that decide to have loud conversations while your trying to enjoy the concert.

    Aaron delivers

by J. P. on 12/16/19L'Auberge Casino & Hotel Baton Rouge - Baton Rouge

Great concert by Aaron Neville whose voice is as good as it's ever been. Loved the Christmas he sang. My only criticism is the seats at this venue (L'Auberge Casino, Baton Rouge LA) were too close together. Felt like a bunch of sardines packed in the event center.

Only 3-4 Christmas songs played; majority of the set was unpopular songs

    Wonderful concert

    by J. M. on 12/15/19Beau Rivage Theatre - Biloxi

Aaron Neville still has the pipes and charisma to excite a crowd. From his hits in the sixties and later, to Christmas and religious songs, he performed them with a passion and singing style that only he can. Wonderful venue, comfortable seating with great views and sound. Only complaint would be an over zealous usher that constantly walked in front of us looking for people taking a picture. Did not see any other ushers being this aggressive and certainly not blocking customers view of the concert.

    Disappointing

by Tasteful Lady on 11/5/19Royce Hall - UCLA - Los Angeles

There is no "Show" here, just one man at a piano who was fabulous and one at a keyboard (Aaron), that he does not play, singing just okay for the first half. It seemed Aaron did not do a sound check or a voice warm-up. He came out, sat down, and sang (not great until about halfway through), only talking to the audience shortly before the end of his concert. If you like the songs, it was worth going, but overall I was disappointed. The Hall was about half empty. Royce Hall is a great venue; if you have a chance go see anything there.

AARON NEVILLE AT ROYCE HALL/BIG DISAPPOINTMENT

by Judy on 11/5/19Royce Hall - UCLA - Los Angeles

The concert in no way matched the description given in the play bill. It refers to Neville as "the most holistic of soul men", and touted the "true grit" of his latest album, Apache. There was little grit in his performance, only light soul and no funk. This was not the Aaron Neville I love. He sang a series of pop standards, which is just not his style. Neil Diamond's "Sweet Caroline"?? Come on . . . Royce Hall also has acoustical problems. I will not be returning. But, I vow this paltry performance will not be my last Aaron Neville concert.

    An amazing Duo

by Rick from Phoenix on 9/24/19Chandler Center for the Arts - Chandler

I expected Aaron Neville to be an extraordinary artist and he far exceeded. 90 minutes of glorious, non-stop, songs. But I did not expect to also be blown away by the genius of Michael Goods. It would be inaccurate to say he was the keyboard accompaniest. Mr. Goods was an equal partner. Together they created a magnificent musical experience. My profound gratitude to both of them.

    Great concert

by SW on 8/25/19Belterra Casino Resort and Spa - Florence

Aaron Neville is a true professional with a voice that makes you feel good. His band was great and song selection was very good. Aaron seems like he enjoys performing and one would never think he was 78 as he dances and moves gracefully. If you have the opportunity to see him, you won't be disappointed. A few comments about the venue at Belterra Casino in Florence, IN. This wasn't our first show there. The sound is very good and the stage is close enough to give you an intimate feeling. This was our first time sitting on the floor and certainly our last. The chairs are not staggered so seeing Aaron was non existent. Especially if you have someone in front of you who sports a big hairdo or is just tall. Also, if the performer does not allow filming, make that announcement at the beginning of the show vs. the attendants running around all night warning patrons. It's a huge distraction to your paying customers.
