We have been on two jazz cruises with Peter and Mindi, and also many land concerts. They have always put on a wonderful performance, and that is why we keep coming back. This performance was no different. Rick Braun is a great addition, and we love his music also. Looking forward to seeing all of them again.
I have seen Mindi in concert numerous times and this was the second holiday event with Peter White. She is always great and this concert was one of the best.
I saw this concert the night before in Fresno with friends--matter of fact I have seen the back to back shows for as long as Peter has booked both cities on the tour. Last year I also took a business associate and long time friends to the show in Sacramento, so I saw it three nights in a row--and yes they play the same songs but they don't don't play the same notes. After all, it is jazz! Christmas is not Christmas until Peter White plays "Silent Night" with a tone so clear and simple that it brings tears. The vocal abilities of the the ensemble have evolved and matured over the years Rick Braun in particular has developed an expressive and lovely vocal presence to match an unsurpassed instrumental virtuosity. And Mindy's Christmas song has become a seasonal standard for me. The best weekend of the year!!
Incredible enthusiasm (at the end of a long tour schedule). Instruments were mere extensions of the artists...unbelievable what Abair did with the sax, Braun on horns and White on the Guitar. Don't miss this event if you even kind of like jazz!!
I bought these tickets when Ticketmaster suggested them because I wanted to go to a Christmas program. Not really jazz fans, neither my husband nor I had ever heard these musicians, but the reviews were so positive that I took a chance. We totally enjoyed every minute of the show. These musicians are awesome, with great voices and a very entertaining stage presence. I would definitely go see this show again if it stops in San Diego next year! The Balboa Theater is a wonderful venue with great accoustics. At one point Mindi's microphone stopped working and we could still hear her voice.
We go to Peter White's Christmas show every year in San Diego. This year's show was the best show we've seen so far.
We have been to this show many a time; whenever these jazz artists are in town, we go to their Christmas concerts. This was by far the worst show ever, they had no heart, Mindy looked like a clown, because she had so much makeup on. This was just not the warm Christmas concert we've seen them do in the past; including them really connecting with their audience, Rick bringing his children on the stage and so on and so forth. It was just not a good show, not heart warming as their shows in the past. I don't know what's up with them, but it just wasn't the same.
This was mine and my daughter's first time at a Balboa Theater venue, which I woud certainly classify as a family outing. Needless to say, it was a stellar event. Aside from the cramped seating and rows in the upper sections, the audio was amazing. Peter White, Mindi Abair and Rick Braun brought out all the stops, not simply playing a few tunes but entertaining us. There is a reason this show has been going for ten years now. Plans have already been made for next year, making it a point to get better seats.
While the concert is enjoyable they do the same exact show every year. This was the third time we went and they play the exact same songs and have the exact same conversation with the audience, we will not go again. I am sure they know some other Christmas songs!
Peter Whites x mass is always an awesome show. I see this show every year and the song arrangements get better and better every year. Holiday music with a jazz twist.
Well done-lots of good music and humor, by all cast. Headliners and musicians alike.
This concert is thoroughly enjoyable! My family has attended 6 out of the 10 years Peter White Christmas has come to Jacksonville and we've been highly satisfied each time.
Rick Braun, Peter White and Mindi Abair what a trio Excellent music, great entertainment Love the mix of holiday music as well as individual hits! Come back next year, please!
I've seen this concert three times in the past few years. There really wasnt anything new this year. I love these three performers and they played their hearts out. But they need to do something different. Maybe restructure the show with some different music. I heard many of these songs six years ago. Peter White does the best rendition of Silent Night with a beautiful piano run on his album. Even though he plays this song in concert, he never includes that run which completes the song.
This is the concert to see if you want to put yourself in the Holiday spirit. After Nine years of seeing this Christmas concert we always look forward to seeing it as it truly puts you in the Christmas Spirit.
Saw this show last year. This year was a repetition of last year with only a few minor changes. Became predictably repetitious with each number. Do not plan to attend next year. Seen it once, been there done that.

This is the second time, I have attend this show and will continue as long as peter white and friends can perform. I love it.
It was my first time at B.B. Kings and would not go back. The seating is not conducive for an enjoyable evening unless you used your Amex card and received preferred seating. The service was very poor. The waitress used the excuse of being pregnant for not getting to us right away. The bar staff was great. I went to the bar because the pregnant waitress hadn't taken our order yet.
Peter White, Rick Braun, Mindi Abair and the band were absolutely amazing. And when Rick Braun and Mindi Abair played briefly at/in our booth, I was in smooth jazz heaven!!!
