it was nice to see him . nice shy guy . his playing was unbelievable. he can play anything we went to help my wife hear his father's songs. hard to see him around his piano. nice that he did autographs after the show . wish we could have taken picture
I loved his dad Jim but A.J. Is his own man. His wonderful R&B approach to music, his honky tonk piano Is New Orleans style, and he writes a lot of his own music and its damned good. Think Billy Preston "Nothing from Nothing". He paid one tribute to his dad, He sang Operator...tears came to the my eyes. i miss Jim but we've got AJ, let's appreciate him. A girl of about 21 asked me if I knew who he was and who was his dad. Feeling very old I launched into "......you don't pull on superman's cape, you don't spit into the wind, you pull that mask off the old Lone Ranger......", well I lost my audience about then, but she walked away saying AJ is great. Ps ladies really good looking guy.
Honestly, we had never heard of either artist. We went because we loved the music that their fathers played and were interested in hearing them. They were NOT a disappointment at all! The intimate venue was perfect for them.
I REALLY DIDN'T KNOW ALOT ABOUT HIM BUT WAS VERY PLEASED WITH HIS SOUND. GOT ALOT OF BILLY JOEL SOU ND TO HIM. SHOW WAS AWESOME
