    Chorus Line

by leafyhollow on 7/16/09Uihlein Hall Marcus Center - Milwaukee

My wife and I treated our daughters (16 & 20) to an evening out, including attendance at one of the weeknight performances of Chorus Line. Overall, we enjoyed the show. There were some spots that lacked the polish one should expect from this level of production. While I understand that it is difficult to make their parts 'pop' every night, it seemed as if about a third of the cast just wasn't into it that night. Those that were 'on' gave delightful characterization to their parts.

    Chorus Line was great

by Herc on 7/16/09Orpheum Theatre - Minneapolis

I had heard about this musical for years but have never really learned what it was all about. Now that I have seen this musical, I just loved it. I was impressed in every way: with the characters (their playing of each character), the music and the way the songs were sung, and the dancing. it was great. After the show I went home and watched the mvie version. I liked the stage musical better!

    Thoroughy Enjoyable

by IowaFan on 7/16/09Orpheum Theatre - Minneapolis

This play really gives you insight into the struggles that a starving artist goes through to "make it big" inside the world of the theater. Their personal stories and life challenges touch your heart and convey the power of determination in the face of life's adversity.

    Recommended for Date Night

by datenight on 7/16/09Orpheum Theatre - Minneapolis

Excellent! With kids now, we don't get out as much as we used to, but this was one such occassion. Although I recommend this show to anyone who enjoys the arts, this show exemplifies the true work that goes into being in a broadway show. You can't act like you can dance or act like you are in shape for a 2 hour production with no intermission. We sat in the 3rd row and it was truely amazing! Can't wait to go back. By the way, don't drink too many liquids prior to this show as you will be running to the restroom shortly thereafter, otherwise a great performance.

    A Chorus Line was great!

by Mmselle on 7/16/09Orpheum Theatre - Minneapolis

It was a nearly flawless production of this wonderful script. I had forgotten how long the play is but it was SUCH fun to see it! The singing was incredible, the acting was great, and the few timing mishaps (it was opening night, after all) were smoothly covered and the show went on.

    Sad and Tired

by JudiH on 7/16/09Orpheum Theatre - Minneapolis

A Chorus Line is about characters displaying emotion. The only emotion I felt was tired. At one point, I closed my eyes and tried to sleep! Cassie walked through her performance and was totally unbelievable as a woman who reached for the stars, fell short, and now, desperately needed to feel good about herself, her dance. And it ended so abruptly that I left feeling unfulfilled.

    The dancing was great

by Sirquat on 7/16/09Orpheum Theatre - Minneapolis

The show in general was good. Acting was well done and the punch lines worked just fine. What was weak was the singing. A couple of the girls were out of tune. Mostly FLAT. That was disappointing. And it was pretty close to the start of the show. So it left a sour taste.

    A Chorus Line

by cmas on 7/16/09Uihlein Hall Marcus Center - Milwaukee

We did not have the best seats in the house but when asked my family if that made a difference for this show they replied no. The play itself was just "Okay." It seemed to be very long for us. I am glad I did not have a big investment in ticket prices!

by Char1579 on 7/16/09Uihlein Hall Marcus Center - Milwaukee

The performance was outstanding. This was the third time in the past several years that I have attended a performance of Chorus Line and this ranked at the top. We enjoyed it tremendously.

Always a fun show, even after all this time. The current traveling cast is OK too.

    A Chorus Line

by Olddog69 on 7/15/09Uihlein Hall Marcus Center - Milwaukee

A very enjoyable evening. The show was entertaining and very well directed. The cast was a variety of real life people. I think some of them found it difficult to make intentional mistakes. My wife and I live in Arizona and are in Milwaukee for the summer and we enjoyed getting back to the Marcus. I would recommed this show to anyone who likes great song and dance.

Chorus Line - good but not great

by Jlap on 7/15/09Uihlein Hall Marcus Center - Milwaukee

The performance was good but not great...at times the actors could not be heard which could be excusable on a first night perfomance but not mid run. Most of the dancing was well executed but some solos were flat and theatrical rather than dynamic and dancing...

A Chorus line was too long!

by 1stella on 7/15/09Uihlein Hall Marcus Center - Milwaukee

The show dragged on and on. Too many serious seens and not enough seens like tits and ass to break up the monotony of the rest of the show.

    This show was phenominal

by norabora on 7/15/09Orpheum Theatre - Minneapolis

This line was awesome. There was never a moment that my attention wasn't full captured by what was happening on the stage, no matter how many people were singing/speaking.

    True to the movie

by CheriP on 7/15/09Orpheum Theatre - Minneapolis

I took my 26-yr-old daughter to this, a dancer her entire life, thinking she would be so inspired again. She was very excited to attend. This performance was so much like the movie that she (who loved the movie so much we watched it 50 times as a girl) found it too predictable - even the lines were exact (she was repeating them under her breath as we watched). There were not enough real dance moves - more voice. She wanted to see more dancing, and it was more about voice. We were hoping to see more dancing than the movie had shown - but it was less. It was good, don't get me wrong. Just not the expected performance. We walked away with a "it's good" - not a "it was really great."

    A Chorus Line--One Singular Sensation!

by Muppetmom on 7/15/09Uihlein Hall Marcus Center - Milwaukee

Saw this back in the 70's & loved it. This was even more spectacular than I remember. The only thing that would have made it better would have been if my daughter would have been able to attend with me. She moved to Alberta, Canada in December and was completely bummed out when she found out the show would be in Milwaukee in June. She's only seen the movie--no comparison. Some day I hope she gets to experience it.
