It's what they've worked for - with every drop of sweat, every hour of training, every day of their lives. It's the one opportunity to do what they've always dreamed -- to have the chance to dance.  This is A Chorus Line, the musical for everyone who's ever had a dream and put it all on the line.  This singular sensation is the longest-running American Broadway musical ever.  Now A Chorus Line returns.  Come meet the new generation of Broadway's best. Not appropriate for Kids

by KyDustBunny on 7/14/09Procter and Gamble Hall - Cincinnati

My husband & I thought we would treat our teens to a broadway play for earning excellent grades during the school year. Shame on us for not researching "A Chorus Line" beforehand. The language (the f bomb was dropped several times) + the references to homosexuality, masturbation, and pedophilia made it very awkward and strained to watch alongside our kids. Guess I was remembering the television version from decades ago where this stuff wasn't present. I'll know better next time I spend my $ on a family event. I rated the event a 3 because the dancing/choreography were outstanding and entertaining.

    Classic show, average cast.

by lbmj on 7/14/09Procter and Gamble Hall - Cincinnati

I love the show, "A Chorus Line". This was a decent production, but I didn't think they were the best singers and dancers ---considering the subject matter-- which was hopefuls competing for a part in the chorus of a Broadway production. Still, I enjoyed it because it is one of my favorites. The Aronoff is always a great venue.

    chorus line was pathetic

by davetheelectrician on 7/13/09Procter and Gamble Hall - Cincinnati

absolutely the worst stage show we have ever seen! the only reason i can see that this was on broadway so long is that it can't possibly cost much to produce and there is a never ending stream of suckers visiting ny. The set is just an empty stage with a line taped on it. this show does not need a costume designer because nobody changes clothes until the last minute. the dialogue is pathetic rambling drivel and the music, with only one exception, is complete trash. there is no intermission because the producers know nobody would return for the second half and the crew would be bowing to an empty theater. lousy....don't waste your time & money like we did.

Skip This and Buy a Round of Drinks Instead...

by JMMasterson on 7/13/09Procter and Gamble Hall - Cincinnati

As a lifetime dancer and a huge fan of the movie, my wife was thrilled to invite me to "A Chorus Line" when the traveling show came through Cincinnati. I'm a frequent theater attender and particularly fond of musicals, and looked forward to it myself. ...boy were we disappointed. This production offered the same minimalist staging and elaborate dance routines as most productions of "A Chorus Line," but unfortunately did not offer any of the acting or singing prowess to support this framework. From the first moment we hear the cartoonish, contrived voice of Zach (whose effeminate tone would have been much better suited to Paul's role instead of playing a hetero lover in a powerful position), the play projects character after character in a barely-believable tableau reminiscent of high school theatre. Morales disappoints with uninspired, staccato recitation of otherwise inspired writing, and Paul overenunciates and bleats through his monologue so sophomorically that those around me tittered throughout his most heartbreaking lines. The rest of the cast seems to just wait for their chance to yell their parts out and get back in line. The one light in this otherwise drab waste of time is Sheila, who manages to carry the audience from peak to valley along with her, got us to laugh, and got us to feel sorry for her and encouraged by her at the same time. Props to this actress for keeping her sense of craft in an unpleasant situation. I expect a lot more from a professional touring company appearing at a major venue like the Aronoff Center. If you want to see "A Chorus Line" in this manner, you can catch a high school production in nearly any town in the midwest... go see that one, then pocket the extra money and take your friends out for drinks. You'll have a lot more fun, and are likely to meet more real characters that way.

    A Chorus Line-- revival

by susierailroad on 7/13/09Procter and Gamble Hall - Cincinnati

Having seen "A Chorus Line" twice in the 70's, I eagerly ran to see it again--30 years later. Amazingly enough, it is still relevant and immensely entertaining. I got the CD and am still singing the songs, some of which I remembered word for word from the original.

    A Chorus Line

by Realtygirl on 7/13/09Procter and Gamble Hall - Cincinnati

This was a really good production of A Chorus Line. I had seen the play before, and enjoyed it yet again. The performers were all great. It's an ensemble cast, and doesn't really have a "star". This is not your typical musical with lots of costumes and sets and big numbers, but it is some great dancing.

Chorus Line -- What a Disappointment!

by Cons on 7/13/09Procter and Gamble Hall - Cincinnati

I treated my 24 year old daughter to dinner and Chorus Line; but we were very disappointed in the production. Both of us had difficulty understanding/hearing the dialogue/words. I have friends who raved about Chorus Line; but of course, they saw it in NYC!

A Chorus Line was 2 hours I will never get back.

by ksfj on 7/13/09Procter and Gamble Hall - Cincinnati

Truly disappointing show. I was very excited to see what I have heard to be such a classic show, but in the end I was only upset on the time and money I wasted. Leaving the show, it seemed to be the common theme as well. I saw most people shaking their heads in disbelief.
