This was a spectacular show one the the best we've ever seen the guy that played Neil Diamond sounded just like Neil and everyone was great
From the very beginning you're engulfed in the musical itself. I learned things that I did not know about Neil Diamond's life and the meaning behind the music that he wrote. It was uplifting moving and energetic at all the same time. It is something that everyone should enjoy.
The staging was good, the songs, as expected, were great. Nick Fradiani as Neil Diamond, was terrific. Thoroughly enjoyed the show.
This musical is wonderful...at least for Neil Diamond Fans. Star Nick Fradiani sounded just like Neil. Two Hours of music barely interrupted by the story.

From the 1st note, I knew this was going to be amazing, he nailed Neil. Mom wants to go again, looking at OC.
5 stars for the Neil Diamond music and flashback scenes; 2 stars for technical aspects. Who can be down while singing along to "Sweet Caroline"! The flashbacks of Neil Diamond's life, filled with a talented, energetic cast performing his iconic music are great fun. The present day scenes of Neil recounting his life and career in a therapist's office could use tightening. While they give insight into Neil's psyche, the pace is slow and drawn out and brings down the joyous mood of the music-filled flashbacks considerably. Sound and some of the lighting need adjustment and detracted from our enjoyment of the show, prompting the lower overall rating. Why do all recent musicals insist on cranking up the volume to eardrum-bursting levels, insistent on not letting the audience leave the theater without hearing loss? Ear plugs--don't leave home without them--but muffled Neil Diamond music is not ideal, either. The production uses side-stage vertically mounted lighting, which turns it's retina-burning red spotlights directly onto the audience during one of the early numbers and keeps them there, causing the audience in our front Mezzanine section to raise their Playbills to cover their eyes, completely missing the number. While it's apparent why the production did not receive Tony nominations, and aside from the tech annoyances, the show is generally enjoyable, the musical numbers are well executed, and it has Neil Diamond's stamp of approval, so we recommend it with the above caveats.
Although we love musicals, we were not expecting such a fun, emotional, and engaging experience. The cast was great, the music was fun, and the story left us with much to talk about! We highly recommend. Our 14 and 17 year old grandsons really enjoyed it too. Unbelievable!

Absolutely wonderful. Music was fantastic. Actor playing Neil sounds just like him in my opinion. Delves into his life and incorporates his songs along the way. All the favorites. Pantages is a wonderful venue as well.

Great performances by the singers and dancers. Stagecraft was great, story was very clever. It helps having some of the best music ever written. Amazing sound-alike for Neil Diamond.
My wife and I went to the show for a night out not expecting anything except an average show. The method chosen to tell this story was unique and terrific. The Songs and Music ended up being sensational. Learning about his life was enthralling. This is right up there with Jersey Boys.
Five stars for the traveling tour of a beautiful noise. We loved Nick as the lead. He sounds just like Neil Diamond. We highly recommend seeing this show.

I’ve been to numerous musicals over the years. All the biggies and then some. This was one of the best I’ve seen. Especially if you’re a Neil Diamond fan, and even if you’re not a musical fan, this is a not miss event!! A fantastic story of his life all played out in one epic performance. There’s a lot going on stage and plenty to look at, but at the same time, very easy to follow. ALL the performers were excellent and outstanding. Though many of the musicals I’ve been to were fantastic, this is one I will HIGHLY consider seeing again. Very, Very good!!!
