Whitney Cummings on Tour

Whitney Cummings is a Los Angeles-based comedian, actor, writer, producer and director. Best known for creating and starring in the NBC series "Whitney," she also co-created and co-wrote (with Michael Patrick King) the Emmy-nominated CBS comedy series "2 Broke Girls."

In November of this year, Whitney launched her own podcast titled "Good For You." Whitney has a lot of questions for a lot of different kinds of people. She also has opinions. And a robot. "Good For You" is self-produced by Whitney alongside Made By Super and records in Los Angeles. New episodes are released on Wednesdays.

Whitney debuted her 4th stand up special, "Can I Touch It?" on Netflix on July 30th. The special includes Whitney's signature incisive commentary on gender dynamics is more relevant than ever. Filmed at the Sidney Harmon Hall in her hometown, Washington, DC. The special touches Whitney's take on everything including her signature incisive commentary on gender dynamics and why we should give sex robots a chance.

Up next, Whitney will star and executive produce a new half-hour comedy for Amazon, "Good People" which she co-created alongside Lee Daniels. The show revolves around three generations of women working in the ombudsman's office of a college that navigates the current cultural climate, the concept of feminism across different generations, and the struggle to reconcile socially constructed ideas with current ethical views regarding complex issues such as sec, race, class and gender.

In October 2017, Whitney debuted her novel "I'm Fine...And Other Lies," which details her brutal anxiety and codependency disorder, written with her trademark entertaining wit, humor, and honesty. That same year, Whitney made her directorial debut with the feature adaptation of Louann Brizendine's best-seller, "The Female Brain". In addition to co-writing and directing, she stars alongside Sofia Vergara, James Marsden, Lucy Punch, Toby Kebbell, Cecily Strong, Beanie Feldstein, and Blake Griffin. "The Female Brain" comically details the inner workings and complex power of brain chemistry among couples at different stages of their relationships. The film premiered at the Los Angeles Film Festival and was distributed by IFC.

On the big screen, Whitney was last seen in "Unforgettable" for Warner Bros. Past feature film credits include "The Wedding Ringer," "Made of Honor," and "The Ridiculous Six." Whitney has appeared in such series as "Undateable," "Workaholics," "Maron" and the Comedy Central Roasts, which have solidified her presence in comedy television.

Her first one-hour stand up special, "Money Shot," premiered on Comedy Central in August 2010 and was nominated for an American Comedy Award. Her second one-hour stand-up special, "Whitney Cummings: I Love You," debuted on Comedy Central in June 2014. Her third one-hour stand-up special "I'm Your Girlfriend," aired on HBO in 2016.

Hysterical!!! She is so funny and down to Earth. This was one show I could totally relate to since it was about growing up in OUR generation. Whitney is really loves and appreciates her fans. Even during this pandemic, she took the time to get up and close and take selfies with her fans. Who does that? Whitney does because she is AWESOME!!!! I will see her anytime I can, tv or in person. LOVE YOU WHITNEY!!!

    HILARIOUS

by Tea Brews on 5/18/22New Jersey Performing Arts Center - Newark

I love Whitney and went to go see her at the Wellmont back in February. When I won tickets to her special I was so excited to go. I went with my wife and we really enjoyed our night. Some of the jokes were the same but I respect that she threw in some new ones for returning fans.

    Lucky Streak

by Ray G on 5/17/22New Jersey Performing Arts Center - Newark

So I won tickets, already felt lucky, then we get to the theatre, and it’s intimate. I’ve got a nice date, and we’re sitting in the last row. Then we’re approached and asked to fill seats in the second row! Felt great. Whitney was hilarious, as was her opener. Overall excellent experience.

    Lies

Advertised everywhere that you needed either a negative covid test or proof of vaccine. Nobody asked for either.

    She's a riot

by Chez Rubenstein on 5/17/22New Jersey Performing Arts Center - Newark

Funny stuff. Very relatable for a middle aged person. Can get a bit raunchy, if you weren't aware, but if you're up for that, it's really funny.

    Whitney was great

Wife and I both enjoyed her show. The venue is a great spot for a comedy show. You can get close up. Very comfortable too. She was funny.

    Meh...

by Miche on 4/12/22Orpheum Theater - New Orleans

The husband and I were left at the end shrugging our shoulders. She must have good writers for the shows she produces. Her presence on stage is lackluster and the jokes are stale. The only people around me laughing were ten beers in (clearly inebriated).

Whitney was great... but the venue could be improved

by KC on 4/11/22713 Music Hall - Houston

I thought Whitney Cummings was great. Her performance was basically what I expected and it was enjoyable. And the venue (713 Music Hall) is very nice and there are a lot of things they do really well... it feels very modern, there are plenty of bars and they're well-staffed, and it was very clear how to get around. However, their seating is TERRIBLE. Flimsy little wooden folding chairs that were packed WAY too tightly. There was hardly any leg room b/c the row in front of you was basically in your lap, and as my girlfriend pointed out, anyone who is even slightly overweight would be spilling into the seat next to them. What's disappointing about this is that there was plenty of room to space the chairs out a bit more. Without this issue, i would have given this performance a five-star review, but the chairs/spacing was a big detractor from the performance, and will definitely make me think twice before signing up for another event here.

Thoughtful, energetic, back to back jokes. No filler.

by Floor seat Freddy on 4/10/22

I had the pleasure of seeing Whitney Cummings arrive at the show. I was there early standing outside with others and saw her and waved. The show was very good. Not a full moment and they don’t waste time. Very organized. The floor seats are comfortable with plenty leg room as I was in the second row. What stood out for me after the show Whitney Cummings did meet and greets. I’m a veteran but I enjoy comedy and laughing. I went to the show by myself cause my new girlfriend couldn’t attend due to prior engagements. I asked Whitney if she could send an audio sound byte to wish her a happy birthday. She one upped me and sent a video message wishing her a happy birthday and became a super wing man for me giving me kudos which she didn’t have to do. Next time I see Whitney I’m gonna make sure my girlfriend attends. Might be a special night in advance….Kind Youthful Nurturing Admiring (inside joke for my gf)

    Tears were streaming

by Kjo on 4/5/22Majestic Theatre Dallas - Dallas

Whitney never disappoints! It's been a while since I've laughed so hard I cried.. She is always so full of non stop energy, being sure to engage with the whole audience and keep it interesting. I've seen some big name comedians that have repeated old material on stage, and Whitney has never done this. Always fresh and always original. Also.. Thanks for using such a gorgeous historic venue. I always love going to the Majestic. Looking forward to the next one! Stay awesome!
