TOAD THE WET SPROCKET IN CONCERT:

In 2013
beloved alt-rockers Toad the Wet Sprocket released their first album of new material in more than 15 years, and proved they've lost none of their energy or melodic sense with a series of electrifying shows. Frontman Glen Phillips and his bandmates can nail a harmony with the best of them, and they're musicianship really shines on cuts from the new album like "The Moment". While the band is excited about the new release, fans of their earlier work have nothing to worry about -- Toad the Wet Sprocket's sets consistently top the two hour mark, and their upcoming dates with Counting Crows will feature all their classic hits including "All I Want" and "Good Intentions".

BACKGROUND SNAPSHOT:

Toad the Wet Sprocket was formed in 1986 by a group of high school friends in Santa Barbara, CA. The band achieved modest success on college radio with early albums like Bread & Circus (1989) and Pale (1990), but it wasn't until the 1991 release of their third album Fear that they really broke through to the mainstream. Top 20 singles "All I Want" and "Walk on the Ocean" propelled the album to platinum sales, paving the way for extensive touring throughout the US and Europe. Their follow-up album Dulcinea in 1994 was a similar success, scoring the band their first chart-topper with "Fall Down". After breaking up in 1998 the band reassembled periodically over the years to play shows, and in 2009 they reunited full-time to begin work on a new album. The result was 2013's New Constellation, a critical and commercial success that marked their return to the charts and set the stage for continued touring.

FANS WHO BOUGHT TICKETS SAY:

"Toad the Wet Sprocket sound as good now, or better than they ever did. Great show with audience interaction - fantastic harmonizing - GO SEE THEM!"

"They sounded great and seemed happy and enthusiastic to be playing together again. The playlist included all the old greats and several from their latest release, which sounded even better live."

"Great show! The band played a mix of songs from the old stuff and new album. Kicked it off with "The Moment", best song from the new album. Fans sang along the whole way through."

    I cried.

by Kargelc on 10/13/23Fillmore Minneapolis presented by Affinity Plus - Minneapolis

Toad the Wet Sprocket never disappoints. I discovered them in the 90's, so the music has some nostalgia for me. The lyrics can be deep, silly, comforting, and/or challenging. They hit topics like love, politics, the environment, philosophy, spirituality, and a bit of nonsense. This was the first Toad experience for my husband, and I'm so glad I was able to share my favorite musicians with him.

First time at Ponte Vedra Concert Hall. Great little venue and the staff were very helpful and friendly. Older crowd but I was there to see Toad the Wet Sprocket. I'm 47 and was among the younger attendees. Great show and experience. I will definitely return to PVCH.

The acoustic set in the lobby was fabulous! The band was so nice and funny! The meet and greet went very smooth and not rushed. The show itself was great! Can’t wait to see them again. The Vogel as a venue is lovely as well. All and all a fantastic event!

    Very fun show

by Mike P on 10/6/23Lillian S. Wells Hall at The Parker - Ft Lauderdale

Toad is a fun band to see live. This was my first time, but I do follow them on social media. They are a touring band for sure and they always bring fun supporting acts with them. The verve pipe was also a great time. Total class acts. Played great music and then came into the lobby to meet the fans. A total package for fun.

The verve pipe opening band was great. They rocked the house and were really entertaining. Toad the wet sprocket harmonies and show were great and the evening lineup with the two bands was well put together. Thank you!

I love this band--since the 90's I've been a huge fan! I've attended a few shows from S Florida to St. Augustine and Atlanta and they do not disappoint. Venue was nice as well --recently renovated--nice looking now.

Fantastic Show - They sounded great

    by PJ Owens on 8/1/23

I love Toad the Wet Sprocket (they may be my favorite band and I appreciate them more all the time) and they did not disappoint. They sounded amazing and loved seeing them in a smaller venue. A visit from Darius Rucker was a fun surprise too!
