Three Dog Night on Tour
Legendary band, Three Dog Night, now in its fifth decade, claims some of the most astonishing statistics in popular music. In the years 1969 through 1974, no other group achieved more top 10 hits, moved more records or sold more concert tickets than Three Dog Night.
Three Dog Night hits weave through the fabric of pop culture today, whether on the radio where they are heard day in and day out, in TV commercials or in major motion pictures -- songs like "Mama Told Me (Not To Come)", "Joy to the World", "Black and White", "Shambala" and "One" serve to heighten our emotions and crystallize Three Dog Night's continuing popularity.
This Grammy-nominated band is not content resting on its legacy alone. Always working to expand its audience, Three Dog Night has embraced and been embraced by 21st century music technology. New and existing fans buy Three Dog Night's music on iTunes as well as at record stores. In fact, releases from this decade alone have sold well over a million copies.
Three Dog Night also pushed boundaries by recording with the London Symphony Orchestra, giving fans new and old a chance to experience its dynamic performances of the hits as well as several new songs. The project, recorded at the famous Abbey Road studios in London and released to coincide with the band's 35th Anniversary, added exciting new orchestral arrangements to Three Dog Night's signature sound.
Three Dog Night maintains an aggressive, year-round touring schedule of over 70 dates a year. The hit filled concerts are performed for generation-spanning audiences by Danny Hutton (founder/lead vocalist) and Michael Allsup (guitar) with Paul Kingery (bass/vocals), Pat Bautz (drums),) David Morgan (vocals) and Howard Lavarea (keyboards). The band's now-famous name refers to native Australian hunters in the outback who huddled with their dogs for warmth on cold nights; the coldest being a "Three Dog Night".
Boasting chart and sales records that are virtually unmatched in popular music Three Dog Night had 21 consecutive Top 40 hits, including 3 #1 singles, 11 Top 10's, 18 straight Top 20's, 7 million-selling singles and 12 straight RIAA Certified Gold LPs. The hits appeared on best-selling charts in all genres (pop, rock and country). Its records Three Dog Night Page 2 continue to sell around the world, reaching beyond the borders of the U.S. into Japan, Canada, Holland, England, Germany, Spain and elsewhere. Tens of millions of Three Dog Night records have been sold through the years.
Created in 1968 by Danny Hutton Three Dog Night recorded the music of the best (and mostly undiscovered) new songwriters of their time including Harry Nilsson, Randy Newman, Elton John, Laura Nyro, Paul Williams and Hoyt Axton among many others. The group's eclectic taste, combined with their ability to recognize and record hits in a unique, distinctive and appealing style, resulted in Three Dog Night dominating the charts for years.
Now, marking 50 years on the road Three Dog Night continues to grow its fan base by keeping up a full schedule of concerts at theaters, performing arts centers, fairs, festivals, corporate events, and casinos. Since 1986, the band has performed over 2,500 shows including two Super Bowls.

One of the best concerts I have ever attended!!! I loved every minute!!! I hope they will be back in this area again.
Acoustics for the PIT seats at Atlanta Symphony Hall was terrible, there were no speakers on the stage for TDN, only the drummer had an Amp. House speaker projected behind us. Very disappointing when you are so close but cannot understand what the artists were saying. BTW, I sat in the PIT for TDN in Aug 2022 show, that show had great acoustics.
Everyone loves the songs and the crowd was into it. However with a few exceptions the vocals were weak, strained and/or off key. They just can’t sing well anymore. Ironically the one exception was the new song they sang at the end of the show.
Three Dog Night at Atlanta Symphony Hall was fantastic! Only issue was parking across the street using the parking pass I purchased. Easy to get in but did not know that you had to scan parking pass to get in. It took about 45 minutes to exit the garage…not fun.
I was amazed at how well they performed, considering their age. I last watched them in person in 1973. The concert brought back some wonderful memories.
Excellent concert! Sang all the old favorites, as well as a great new song from their upcoming (June, 2024)! I’ll definitely go see them again!
The concert was great Didn’t enjoy the opening act. The man in front of me was very drunk, annoying and stood up the entire concert. Was very hard to see! I like to go to symphony hall because the valet parking is good and it’s easy to get in and out of. Need to add more restrooms!
My husband and I greatly enjoyed 3-Dog Night, one of my absolute favorite groups in the 60s and 70s. I may not remember a good friend's phone number without looking it up if I can also remember their last name, but I surprised myself by remembering the words to their songs! Their music and songs were easily recognized by the talented young musician who played both the piano and organ (and played them extremely well, along with their great drummer). Would I see them again? Probably but I'm truly not sure because the original members are now in their late 70s and I'm pretty certain they will be giving up concert touring in the next few years or so but THANK YOU GUYS FOR THE FOREVER GREAT MEMORY AND LETTING ME BE 16 YRS. OLD AGAIN FOR A FEW HOURS.
Three Dog Night put on a great concert. Even though only a couple of the members date back to the early days the instrumental music was authentic and superbly performed. They mustered up the stamina to play a good two dozen of their great old hits as well as a couple newer numbers with unwaning energy pleasantly surprising for senior citizen musicians!
Amazing and wonderful. One of the best concert's this year. The first show was good music and funny man.
It was a good night. Warm up singer was humorous. The band sounded great. One guy was working through a sore throat and he pushed on and finished the show. That was a lot of dedication.
It was a good show. Danny Hutton was losing his voice due to a cold or laryngitis, which hurt the performance. They played all the hits, the band was great, sound was set up very well. A great venue...I feel like we missed out though, since his voice was a goner.
The show was very good - their harmonies haven’t changed although some of the personnel have. I wish my tix had been closer but I really enjoyed every minute of their show and also liked Chris Trapper.
Songs brought back some good memories for sure! Problem was that I saw Goerge Thorogood the next night and there wasn't any comparison in the shows. George is 74 going on 44 and 3 Dog Night is 76 going on 96....
Good show they sang all the old songs and a new one, that was very good!!
Very short singing wasn’t a that good. Just not as good as they once were.
It was a great concert but not as good as the last time I saw them. Drummer needs more experience. Disappointed they only played 75 minutes.
My sister really love it and was totally into it. I though it was good and was surprised when they barely played a little over an hour. I thought the opening act Chris Turner should be scrapped and give more time for 3 Dog Night. Also, while Chris was out front after the show selling his stuff, it would have been GREAT(and I'd probably given the show a 5 star even with the other comments) if they'd of been out front for autographs, etc.
Great music but the 2 main singers are getting past their prime
Save your money on this one and sit this one out. Show was not that great. Voices still in tact, no real energy in this show at all ! That was a waste of some hard earned dollars.
