Doesn't get any better watching these legendary musicians play ... After all these years, they still have it!
I went to the concert mostly to see Gregg Allman...I loved seeing him!!...He was the main reason for Me going!!...although I really enjoyed the Doobie Brothers a lot as well!!
Wow what another amaing show by Gregg Allman and the Dobbie brothers. I have seen the Dobbie brothers before and amazed once again. They played everything you wanted to hear and sounded great. I felt like I was back 30 years ago with the performance they put on . Gregg was great as well , wish he would of played a little more Allman Brothers . These guys put on a better and longer show than acts that are half there age . They were great and I would go see them again.
Both the Doobies and Gregg Allman made stellar performances. Great energy and the crowd was really into it. I was lucky enough to get a Meet and Greet with the Doobies and they were gracious and all smiles. A Wonderful Night! A+
Gregg Allman opened the show with some real down home Blues. Followed up with I'm no Angel. A real good set mixing in Allman Brothers classic cuts done in a new style. Whipped Pole was great at the end. Doobie Brothers put on a very good show How can you go wrong with the great Bill Payne from little Feat sitting in on the KEYS!!
Gregg Allman was fantastic . Doobie Brothers sound was off . Sound man could have done a better job , was not in sync.
A beautiful night to see a show at PNC. Pat Simmons Jr. started the show off with a short enjoyable set which included a duet with his Dad. The Gregg Allman Band then followed with a stellar set that included many high points. Gregg's band was a joy to hear. The horn section added a wonderful touch to Gregg's repertoire and all the players were top notch. Gregg's solo version of Midnight Rider, which I always preferred to the ABB version, was outstanding. Gregg was in great voice this evening and you could tell he was really into it. After seeing The Allmans numerous times, it was a nice alternative to listen to the songs without them being so guitar heavy, which is not a knock on The ABB, just a preferred way of hearing this wonderful music. The Doobie Brothers are one of my favorite bands and we always look forward to seeing them. This particular evening they just didn't have it. One of the biggest disappointments was the AWFUL SOUND SYSTEM which didn't seem to be the case with The Gregg Allman Band. I don't know if these artists use house sound systems and house soundmen, but someone within the band's staff should have the wherewithal to recognize and tweak the sound accordingly during the show. I don't understand why these "Soundmen" always think that louder is better. It took away what should have been a great double bill. The mix was so muddy that we left halfway through The Doobies set.
AAB from a different perspective...Gregg used horns to replace the second guitar parts..It wasn't always successful..The trumpet solo in Midnight Rider was a major fail...The guitar player was faithful to the melodic AAB signature style of Dicky and Warren on some songs, on others he wanted to be Van Halen..Gregg's voice was wonderful, the surrounding cast was good...
great show. Started with opener Pat Simmons, son of Pat Simmons from the Doobie Brothers playing. As always Gregg Allman was great.... Doobie Brothers played all the songs the audience loved.....Just a great concert!
