About

The Black Crowes are leaving the bullshit in the past. 15 years after their last album of original music, the Robinson Brothers present Happiness Bastards - their 10th studio album. Some may say the project has been several tumultuous years in the making, but we argue it's arriving at just the right time. Call it brotherly love or music destiny that brought them back together, the highly anticipated record consecrating the reunion of this legendary band just may be the thing that saves rock & roll. In a time where the art form is buried beneath the corporate sheen of its successors, The Black Crowes are biting back with the angst of words left unsaid penned on paper and electrified by guitar strings, revealing stripped, bare-boned rock & roll. No gloss, no glitter, just rhythm and blues at it's very best - gritty, loud, and in your face.

Since The Black Crowes reunited in 2019, they've made a triumphant return to form with over 150 shows spanning 20 countries worldwide, celebrating the 30th anniversary of Shake Your Money Maker, the album that put them on the map. Upon their return from the road, they knew they needed something new to show for their lost time. The Robinson Brothers and longtime bassist Sven Pipien headed to the studio with producer Jay Joyce in early 2023 and the experiences of years past transcribed themself through the music as the band found their way back to their roots. And it's finally here - Happiness Bastards is out March 15, 2024.

    Sounded great but too short

by BK on 4/16/24Fox Theater - Oakland - Oakland

Was really excited to see them live, it had been many years. They sounded awesome, played a great Morning Song but only played for 1.5 hours. What the hell? The show ended at 10:30PM, was beyond disappointed.

    My Expectations

by Old Crowe Fan on 4/16/24Fox Theater - Oakland - Oakland

I first saw the Black Crowes in the late 1980’s and fell in love with their music and energy. Have since seen them 8-9 times and always pleased with the performance. Saw Rich Robinson solo and was awesome. Had tickets to the jimmy Page collaboration tour until he fell off stage in New Mexico. The venue (Fox Theatre - Oakland) was awesome! Great set list, WAY too short -they barely played 1 hour 15 minutes - for a $350 loge ticket. Another 45 minute would have been appreciated. This set would be appropriate for opening for Aerosmith shows.

Crowes were amazing as usual. Having Ronnie and Chuck join them was an added bonus. The Greek Theater has excellent acoustics. Sound was perfectly mixed. Killer show.

    Smooth as silk

by Jamie on 4/15/24Greek Theatre - Los Angeles

Everything was great on the venue side. No problems reserving the tickets, the parking, and entry. From a band perspective, the Black Crows were phenomenal!!! It's like they never broke up and the Happyness Bastards album is one of their best yet. What I really like is that they played it almost note for note to the album! Love these guys and the fact they gave an up and coming rock band open for them!

    An Absolute Heavenly Friday Night

by NancyLee on 4/15/24Greek Theatre - Los Angeles

I write reviews a lot and I always have some bone to pick .. and for this experience I do not have one other than the price of the parking at The Greek Theater. I couldn't even make one up. The Black Crowes never ever disappoint and not only did this night hold that truth everything good under the sun was an addition. Chris Robinson and the band were as on as humanly possible, the sound was stellar, the crowd which is always a big part of the show was a huge positive which is rare, every single song was true perfection and then they bring out a guest that is hard almost impossible to compare. And did I mention Chris's Red Suit and matching sunglasses? The luster of the show remained with me throughout the next day as it wasn't a state of the art Rock and Roll show ... it was a moment in time I wish I could capture and keep in my pocket as anything that makes me feel that good is worth it's weight in gold

    Phenomenal

by Undertrader on 4/15/24Greek Theatre - Los Angeles

I have to be honest, I've been sleeping on the Crowes since around the Remedy era. What a mistake. You know how you go to a show and they play new songs and you sit on your hands or go to the bathroom? Not this show. EVERY song was a banger. All of them. The audience stood for the entire show, even up in the nose bleeds. They sounded incredible, he sang incredibly, the background singers were amazing. Great, great show. Couldn't recommend them more.

    Great Show and Venue

by Wallstrafed on 4/15/24Greek Theatre - Los Angeles

The Black Crowes were fine. Maybe a little too much emphasis on the fir$t album and the new one which $eem$ like a return to that sound and feel.

by KR on 4/15/24Greek Theatre - Los Angeles

It was an amazing concert. I hadn’t seen the Black Crowes in years and they killed it! It was such a great concert! Chris’s voice is still incredible. They had great energy and the stage set up, design, and lighting looked so cool. They definitely did not disappoint! Plus the set list was spot on. Can’t wait to see them again!

The Black Crowes' performance at the Greek Theatre, featuring special guests Ron Wood and Chuck Leavell, was the best in years. The Greek Theatre is the best place for a venue!

    Fantastic show

by Cheeseman on 4/15/24Greek Theatre - Los Angeles

Three’s a charm! Loved them back when I first saw them play at The Greek Theatre in ‘91, then at Innings Festival last year. Solid new album to showcase the night with sprinkles of past hits and a few special guests from the Stones made for a very memorable evening! The Black Crowes ROCK!

    Amazing show!

by Eddie on 4/15/24Greek Theatre - Los Angeles

Great show! New songs are great and add to the show. Not always the case when veteran bands add new songs to the mix. Band is super tight.

    Sound System @ Venue Terrible

by arr62 on 4/15/24713 Music Hall - Houston

The band was great and we truly want to see them again. The Music Hall's sound system was awful and muffled the opening act and Black Crowes with all but maybe a couple moments. Hope to see them again somewhere else.

    House Mix

by GLR on 4/15/24Greek Theatre - Los Angeles

I love this band, but I was pretty disappointed with the house mix. It was not well balanced. Chris's vocals and Rich's guitar were way louder than everything else. I could barely hear the lead guitar or the backup singers and there was not much level or clarity to the bass. Overall, not a full sound and the songs would've had much more impact if things had been better balanced. I never write reviews but felt this was important to share because the whole band needs to sound great when you go to a show, not just 2 guys even if they are the only remaining members.
