About

The Black Crowes are leaving the bullshit in the past. 15 years after their last album of original music, the Robinson Brothers present Happiness Bastards - their 10th studio album. Some may say the project has been several tumultuous years in the making, but we argue it's arriving at just the right time. Call it brotherly love or music destiny that brought them back together, the highly anticipated record consecrating the reunion of this legendary band just may be the thing that saves rock & roll. In a time where the art form is buried beneath the corporate sheen of its successors, The Black Crowes are biting back with the angst of words left unsaid penned on paper and electrified by guitar strings, revealing stripped, bare-boned rock & roll. No gloss, no glitter, just rhythm and blues at it's very best - gritty, loud, and in your face.

Since The Black Crowes reunited in 2019, they've made a triumphant return to form with over 150 shows spanning 20 countries worldwide, celebrating the 30th anniversary of Shake Your Money Maker, the album that put them on the map. Upon their return from the road, they knew they needed something new to show for their lost time. The Robinson Brothers and longtime bassist Sven Pipien headed to the studio with producer Jay Joyce in early 2023 and the experiences of years past transcribed themself through the music as the band found their way back to their roots. And it's finally here - Happiness Bastards is out March 15, 2024.

    The shows were really good.

by Traveler on 5/6/24The Wind Creek Event Center - Bethlehem

I went to two shows the music was awesome but the sound systems were different. The show at the Anthem in DC. The sound was not great but the boys were. The system at Wind creek was better. Not sure if they had different systems but they looked different and Wind Creek sounded better to me. Keep it going.

    Great sound system and venue.

    by D Braintree on 5/5/24

The sound system is the best in indoor Boston venues. Clear and full with all the vocals up front. The Black Crowes were great I think time has made them even better. I’ve been listening to Happiness Bastards since it came out to get familiar, and it is better than all their great songs from earlier years. Just wish I could afford to see them at The Garden New Year’s Eve.

Chris Robinson is a killer entertainer

by The OG Mr Bada Bing on 5/4/24Ovens Auditorium - Charlotte

First of all, the set is cool as hell, a classic carnival tent or tent revival looking show with multi-level stage, great background singers, incredible musicians, and the Robinson brothers are fantastic together! And Chris Robinson is just the consummate entertainer, twirling around with the mic stand, dancing, enjoying himself, and that helped me enjoy the show.

    Excellent Band & Great Venue

by HK on 5/4/24Ovens Auditorium - Charlotte

The Black Crowes were phenomenal and better than when we saw them 10 years ago. Chris Robinson does not get enough credit as one of the genre’s great frontmen. Venue was great with no hassles parking, leaving and getting in.

    Oustanding as usual

by Elkin Jason on 5/4/24Ovens Auditorium - Charlotte

The opener was meh at best but we began to think the mixer was doing a terrible job...we couldn't pick up the vocals at all. But enough about that: The Crowes killed as usual. They sounded as good as ever. And what a wonderful venue for the event. We've saw the Crowes at huge amphitheaters but this venue was nice and cozy; only held 2500 people, and no one sat down the entire time. A truly great experience.

    The Black Crowes!!

by Lisa on 5/4/24Ovens Auditorium - Charlotte

Hands down one of the best concerts I’ve ever attended! The Black Crowes are simply incredible. Had waited a long time to see them live and they did not disappoint! This bands albums are phenomenal but the band sounds even better live! There aren’t many bands left that do! Definitely a must see and worth every penny spent.

    Never again

by Halfback gator on 5/4/24Ovens Auditorium - Charlotte

I saw The Black Crowes over 30 years ago and they were great. I think the band is probably better than ever, but the acoustics were so bad I would never again attend any show at Ovens Auditorium.

    Crowes In Charlotte

by Trestleroad on 5/4/24Ovens Auditorium - Charlotte

An excellent concert by the Black Crowes! The music was great and just at the right volume. Very entertaining! Crowes played from their most recent albums plus many of their older and popular songs. Ovens Auditorium is a very nice small venue that was very well staffed. Parking was very close. Will definitely see other concerts there.

    Sound was too loud

by sg on 5/4/24Ovens Auditorium - Charlotte

The band was excellent, as expected! But the sound crew got it very wrong for this small venue. It was so loud we had to leave 1/2 way through. We were truly bummed about the experience. Hopefully this helps the band get the sound right for the next smaller venue. I adore the venue they chose here. It’s my favorite in the city. But, I have never experienced a concert as loud as this one was in that place.

    12 years later….still amazing!

by Sus from Maine on 5/4/24MGM Music Hall at Fenway - Boston

We had not had the opportunity to see the Black Crowes in 10 years. The new MGM venue at Fenway in Boston was the perfect venue, we scored standing room behind the VIP section and had a great view. Chris Robinson and company played a combination of songs off their new album and every one of our favorite classic songs. We danced and sang along the whole time!

    Best like

by S. Power on 5/3/24The Anthem - Washington

This is one of the best rock and roll bands you will ever see. I’ve loved this music for decades and finally got a chance to see them. Energy was off the charts and the performance was incredible. One of the rare voices that is even better live. Amazing show. Top five of a lifetime of seeing live music.

Best Concert I’ve Attended in LONG TIME

    by Hippychikiki13 on 5/3/24The Anthem - Washington

This was my third time seeing The Black Crowes perform, and by far the best. Where they’ve always had the strength, innate talent, and charisma of the headliner Robinson brothers at the helm, the trademark sound they’ve created has matured and aged like a fine wine to new levels of mastery. Most of all they genuinely seemed to be enjoying themselves both performing & playing together & it resonated into the whole vibe. It was one of the finest concerts I’ve attended overall and easily their personal best. Looking forward to more from these badass rockers. The venue added a warmth to it as well over a lofty impersonal arena, so all around an amazing evening I really enjoyed.

Sounded amazing. Song selection.. not so much.

by JB on 5/3/24The Anthem - Washington

I’ve seen the Black Crowes a number of times over the last 30+ years. Some shows were amazing, playing hit after hit after hit… and some of the shows the band literally just jammed for 90 minutes, not playing a single Black Crowes song (literally). The new album, Happiness Bastards is really good. There are tracks on it that rank right up at the top of my favorites from the band. That being said, opening a show with not one, but two tracks off the new album, is not something anyone wants. It’s just a simple fact, as fans, we want to go crazy over an opening song that we all know and love. Bedside Manners and Rats and Clowns are the first two tracks on the new record. Both are rockers.. and my personal favorites on the album, but I got the feeling that not many in the crowd even recognized the songs. Even knowing both of these songs and liking them a lot, left me wishing they had opened with a classic like Remedy as they have done on so many tours in the past. The rest of the set sounded excellent, but the song choices off their extensive catalog on this particular evening left me scratching my head (P25 London off of Amorica for example). The band did close the night with a cluster of hits and they really still sound as great as they did back in the day. Glad I went, but was left a bit wanting and waiting for personal favorites that were left out.

    Black Crowes

by Bernie on 5/3/24The Anthem - Washington

The Black Crowes at Anthem on the Wharf in DC were awesome! Mixing old with the new made for an incredible show. Glad to see the Robinson Bros back together and still jammin' after all these years!

    Chaos after the show

by Mike on 5/3/24The Anthem - Washington

The show was great but after the show chaos ensued with the patrons and the cars outside of The Anthem. They need more police presence to keep the people and cars in line
