BACKGROUND SNAPSHOT:
Multi-instrumentalist Trey Spruance (Mr. Bungle, Faith No More) formed Secret Chiefs 3 in 1995 as an outlet for his diverse musical tastes and ever-evolving repertoire of guitar playing styles. The band's name derives from the loosely defined concept of the Secret Chiefs, an order of transcendent cosmic authorities thought by some spiritual groups to be the guiding force behind the world's moral and cosmic order. The band's 1996 debut album was titled First Grand Constitution and Bylaws, and it received praise from critics for its mysterious vibe and wildly diverse collection of styles. The band's sound continued to evolve with each subsequent album as their rotating lineup introduced new players and ideas into the mix. Now with more than ten albums under their belt, the band brings plenty of material and experience with them as they hit the road for another must-see tour.
