ABOUT PORTUGAL THE MAN:

Over the past decade, Portugal The Man has established themselves as one of rock's most prized possessions and a live phenomenon, with over 1,600 shows under their belts and a storied reputation as festival favorites.

Originally heralding from Alaska, the Portland-based band - comprised of John Gourley, Zach Carothers, Kyle O'Quin, Eric Howk, Jason Sechrist and Zoe Manville - soared to new heights in 2017 with the release of their RIAA certified-gold album, Woodstock. The album was marked by the astounding success of their infectious single, "Feel It Still," which earned the group a plethora of new accolades - including a GRAMMY award for "Best Pop Duo/Group Performance," a 6x RIAA platinum certified single certification, a mind-blowing 20-week residency at #1 on alternative radio, and an inescapable presence on the Top 40 airwaves.Alongside the shine of their myriad musical accomplishments lies the group's long-standing passion for social justice. In fact, this is precisely the intersection on which Portugal The Man thrives; throughout their career, the band has consistently exemplified how to deeply commit to both artistry and activism. This dynamic inspired them to officially launch their PTM Foundation in 2020, focused on universal issues related to human rights, community health, and the environment, with an emphasis on causes directly impacting Indigenous Peoples.

Their continued passion for activism has also led to recent partnerships with organizations such as the National Coalition Against Censorship, The Skatepark Project (helping communities build public skate parks for youth in underserved communities), March for Our Lives (Gun Reform), Keep Oregon Well (Mental Health), and Protect Our Winters (Climate Change), to name just a few.

by Best show at best venue ever on 5/14/24The Salt Shed Indoors (Shed) - Chicago

What a show! Salt shed is the best venue in Chicago. The lords of Portland experience was incredible. 2 1/2 hours of portugal the man and im already hoping for a 3 night run for them next time. Great meeting the band, they seemed like the greatest crew!

    Vocals were impossible to hear

by Spiceboy on 5/14/24The Salt Shed Indoors (Shed) - Chicago

First time to attend a show in the shed at Saltshed. Don’t know if it is the shed’s acoustics, the sound system, the band’s performance or the sound mixer but the vocals were impossible to hear and understand. Was very disappointed.

    Portugal The Man rocks

by Joslay on 5/14/24The Salt Shed Indoors (Shed) - Chicago

They were amazing. The guitar Solos gave me chills. They sound was stellar and their performance was on point. One of the only bands that I love every single song of theirs. Their live performance was better than I could have hoped for

    A great night

by nickim317 on 5/13/24Old National Centre - Indianapolis

The Portugal. The Man concert in Indianapolis was great. The band went immediately from one song to another, barely stopping for breath. They played for a long time, and I can't think of many songs I love that they didn't play. The opener, Reyna Tropical, was not someone I was familiar with, but she was really good as well. The only improvement I could suggest is to lower the volume of the instruments compared to the singing. The words were hard to hear/understand during periods where all the instruments were playing.

    Fantastic Concert

by Mellysa on 5/12/24The Pageant - St Louis

This is the third time I've been to see PTM and this was the best one yet. I love this venue but it was also a great set list and vocals could really be heard clearly.

One of the most amazing experiences I've had at a live show!

by Timmy g on 5/10/24The Pageant - St Louis

I did the meet n greet for portugal the man! Bought tickets as soon as they were on sale, as I've never seen them ever do a meet n greet! Did not disappoint one bit. The 2 song performance was really special. Almost surreal as they are one of my favorite bands and there was only like 10 of us. They took pictures with us. Got to ask a bunch of questions. I'm not sure if the song I asked about was already in the setlist but it was in there which was amazing as I've never seen them play it live! They were so friendly and cool as a fan. I'm sure it's kind of weird for everybody at first. To top it off my buddy I came with got the drummers drumsticks handed to him after the show! My buddy gave me one to put a cherry on top of this amazing experience! Thank you thank you thank you!!

    Not to my taste

by sebstl on 5/9/24The Pageant - St Louis

Love their albums. The live show was like a different band. Not fun, happy, joyful, just this long sludge of indistinguishable noise. They seemed to be having fun, and so did some of the audience, so this has to be someone's jam. But if you primarily like their produced sound, you may not enjoy them live. It's not the same thing.
