Cute but thought there’d be a lot more animal time

    by M. C. on 1/22/20Lynn Auditorium - Lynn

It was cute-and the team is talented. Show is geared more toward a younger audience. Was disappointed that there was not more time/spotlight on the animals.

It was the worst kids show I’ve ever seen.

    by 3girls on 1/22/20Lynn Auditorium - Lynn

We left at intermission it was so bad. The voice over was horrible. There wasn’t a lot of interaction with the animals as advertised. My girls were looking forward to seeing the pet tricks. When Popovich used the mic and actually spoke to the audience we could barely hear him and the mic kept going in and out. Horrible.

    Loved the show!

    by Animal lover on 1/13/20

Having seen other pet shows before, I was a little cautious about buying the tickets to this one, as many of these shows do have more acts without animals to fill the time. However, Popovich charmed us with his obvious love for his animals and his personality, and we enjoyed both animal and human acts as there were nicely balanced throughout the show. In addition to the charming furry actors, we really appreciated the Russian music used in the show. His acts reminded me of animal and clown acts I used to enjoy in Moscow circus when I was a little girl. It was a real treat to talk to Popovich himself after the show and get his autographed posters! Thank you for giving these animals the second chance!

Refreshing to see an old time type of show

by AimeeAce on 11/14/17Bergen Performing Arts Center - Englewood

We took our 21 month old daughter to see the show because she loves animals. But to our amazement she even enjoyed Mr Popovich and his team when not performing with the animals. His show was very refreshing to see compared to all the theatrics that everyone expects these days. He does real juggling and balancing acts while adding that bit of comedy the kids really understand. To top it all, his animals are rescues. Thats amazing in itself and to see how they accepted training for the acts they perform.

Amateurish & boring - Popovich Comedy Pet Theater

by AllisonMK on 11/14/17Bergen Performing Arts Center - Englewood

Based upon title, one would expect the animals to be somewhat central to this show. Nope! Sure, they stuffed them into a toy train. Sure, he pretended the cats were lions. And yes, he had a cat who randomly ran across stage. If that is the definition of pet comedy, I clearly am reading the wrong dictionary. There was nothing comedic to be found. Popovich’s juggling was sophomoric, never performing any of his attempts without dropping something. Can I juggle? No. Would I drop things if I tried? Yes. But I’m not charging you a pretty penny to watch my unsuccessful efforts. We went to this show for our children. It’s pretty easy to make them laugh, and they love animals. We thought we’d have a hit for sure! Sadly, they were nearly as bored as we were, though we did ooh and ahh, hoping for a contagion effect. Bottom line is that this was an overpriced, drawn out, poorly executed show that we would not recommend to others.

Delightful way to spend 90 minutes

    by Kate17 on 11/12/17New York

I saw this with a friend and thought it was entertaining, but it's especially more interesting and fun for little kids. There are men doing tricks and flips, but there are also animals like cats, dogs, rats, geese, etc. performing on stage as well. It's a silly production that's very light-hearted and fun to watch.

    Silly, not enough animals, expensive

by Primetimejustice on 4/25/17Aventura Arts & Cultural Center - Aventura

Way over priced. Very silly with lots of circus type tricks with no animals in sight for at least 10. There were long stretches of time where all that was going on was a bunch of silly clown circus type jokes and no animals. If you do like that type of thing then I would suggest you go only if you have a child under the age of 8.

    Circus Sideshow

    by Dejavu007 on 4/18/17Hershey Theatre - Hershey

Although there were a few highlights, I didn't think the show was worth the cost of the ticket. There wasn't anything new or exciting.

    Very disappointing.

    by 54Jagger on 4/18/17Hershey Theatre - Hershey

Show was barely an hour long. Very little focus on the animals, more on poor circus acts and sometimes strange skits. Felt ripped off with what was being charged for the show.

I've Seen Better At The County Fair

by DisappointedinPopovich on 4/18/17Hershey Theatre - Hershey

Our family was really disappointed with the quality of this show. The set and program was very tired. The costumes and equipment seemed worn and grungy. The limited audience interaction by the players was hampered by an obvious language barrier. We have always had an exceptional experience at this theater, but this was a major flop.

Popovich Comedy Pet Theater is INCREDIBLE!

    by Hahashortpants on 4/8/16F. M. Kirby Center - Wilkes-Barre

What a wonderful performer Gregory Popovich is! The show was like a step back to vaudeville. The performers were excellent. The animals were outstanding. If you haven't seen this show go now. Mr. Popovich's physical comedy is second to none. His juggling is mind blowing. The fact that the animals were rescued and given a second chance is icing on the cake.

Popovich was and Unbelievably Great Show!

by Cheech62 on 4/3/16Rochester Auditorium Theatre - Rochester

I had traveled to Las Vegas every year for over a decade and had always wanted to see his show. Sadly, I never could fit it in with everything else going on while I was there. When I saw he was playing in Rochester I couldn't wait to get tickets. The show was profoundly worth the wait. While I had regretted even more not seeing him sooner, there was a special magic in the air when he played in our local and beautiful Auditorium Theater. Not a moment in the act was without fun and amazement at the human and animal feats. A wonderful balance of humor, magic, and heart warming moments knowing he has saved so many animals. His accompaniment was also stellar in their showmanship and demonstrations of acrobatics. Hope to see them again some day!

    Popovich Comedy Pet Theatre

Great show, funny, amazing animals, and good old-fashioned family fun! Wish there had been 2 shows, and/or that parents could control noisy children better....

    Great fun!

by Persia on 3/31/16Rochester Auditorium Theatre - Rochester

I wish there had been more advertising as the theater had many empty seats and so many missed out on a very entertaining evening. Perhaps an afternoon show on a weekend would have made a difference. I believe 7:30pm is late for children even on Spring break. The show was amazing not just for kids but adults too. There were so many varieties of juggling, acrobatics and amusing props. Of course the animals stole the show! Mr. Popovich is to be commended for rescuing animals that have been left to survive on their own, giving them a home and training that brings out each animals hidden talents. My grandchildren were so excited to tell their parents of all the things they saw. As an adult I was just as thrilled with the comedy and daredevil stunts of Mr. Popvich and his company. Part of the proceeds from the show went to the Humane Society.

    Theatrical but enjoyable

by Dinkle1234 on 3/28/16The Oncenter Crouse Hinds Theater - Syracuse

It was more theatrical and circus-like than I thought it was going to be. I assume these guys spoke Russian (PS- not a single woman in the cast), but being in the front row, it sounded more like Spanish. It was very hard to understand what they were saying so in a way, I guess the theatrics helped. lol The cats were impressively trained (some better than the dogs) and the variety of animals was very surprising. The ending seemed very abrupt..everyone was confused. This may have been because the giant parrot detoured to the top balcony, into the crowd instead of where they wanted him to go. I would go only again if someone gave me free tickets. It was a great experience I had with my nieces, though. The kids had a good time. I've seen better well-trained dogs at the fair but overall it was enjoyable.

Overall this was enjoyable, but not the most entertaining show in the world. It is a mix of a bit of acrobatics, theater and animal tricks. The animal tricks were very good. Being able to train dogs, cats and birds is not an easy feat and some of the tricks were very amazing to see. The show lasted about an hour, which fits if your intended audience is children. The sound system was not very good and the audio was quite hard to understand. I am not sure why they need prerecorded parts, when the actor is right on stage and could say the lines. If you are really interested in seeing what can be done, in terms of animal training, this is a great show to see.
