Orlando Magic History
Joining the NBA in the 1989 expansion era, the Magic struggled for three years until picking center Shaquille O'Neal first in the 1992 draft. The Magic finished at .500 in the 1992–93 season, barely missing the playoffs. Then, with only a slim chance in the 1993 draft lottery, the team won the rights to pick No. 1 again. They used their selection, Chris Webber, in a trade to obtain guard Anfernee "Penny" Hardaway and future picks.
O’Neal and Hardaway led the Magic to 50 wins in the 1993–94 season and then 57 victories, as well as a trip to the NBA Finals, the following year. In the 1995–96 campaign, the Magic won a franchise-record 60 games in what would be O'Neal's last season in Orlando. They made it to the Eastern Conference finals against the Chicago Bulls.
Over the next 10 years, the Magic made the playoffs five times under the leadership of coach Doc Rivers and Hall of Fame guard Tracy McGrady, who earned two scoring titles and the 2001 Most Improved Player award during his tenure. The 2006–07 season saw Orlando start a run of six consecutive postseason appearances, as star center Dwight Howard blossomed and the Magic surrounded him with young talent and savvy veterans.
The Magic reached the second round of the playoffs in 2008 behind Howard and forwards Hidayet "Hedo" Türkoğlu and Rashard Lewis. The following season, with trade acquisition Rafer Alston filling in for injured point guard Jameer Nelson and sharpshooter J.J. Redick taking on a more prominent role, the team won 59 games and defeated the Philadelphia 76ers, the Boston Celtics and the LeBron James-led Cleveland Cavaliers in the playoffs. It earned the Magic a second trip to the NBA Finals, where they lost to the Los Angeles Lakers.
Following Howard’s trade to the Lakers in 2012, the Magic began a decade-long rebuilding process while developing notable talents like Victor Oladipo, Aaron Gordon and Nikola Vučević. The Magic’s luck seemed to improve after reaching playoff contention once again in 2019 and 2020, and landing top draft picks such as Mo Bamba, Jalen Suggs, Franz Wagner, and 2023 Rookie of the Year Paolo Banchero.

It was my first NBA game. I was completely moved by super players play. One of my dreams came true !!
I went to the Hawks vs Magic game on 1/17/24. It was in Atlanta but I’m writing this review on the magics page because of my experience. I’m a Magic fan and the media guys were so nice and helpful. Markelle signed my jersey and it was an amazing experience. THANK YOU ORLANDO MAGIC AND I WILL BE BACK EVERY TIME YALL COME TO ATL!!💙💙💙
What an incredible game! Everything was perfect, including food, parking, stadium access and security! Thanks
Spent over 400 dollars on 3 tickets in the very top row. Can't think of just how ridiculous they would cost in mid row. I'll never go again!
1st live NBA game with my NBA-fan mother, aisle seats in row 14 right along midcourt, great views save for the big guy in front of my mother, great energy in the house, extremely helpful staff (the senior ones) love them, nice bathrooms very short lines, great parking but at $75 though still worth it for my mother's arthritis. The half-time guy was awesome. Knicks lost but still an exciting game and experience! Cannot wait to watch another game!
Great game, fantastic atmosphere, great conditions. An amazing night.
We went and secured lower bowl tickets and they were not cheap. Almost $500 each. Paid for parking in the parking garage. Managed to get in with about 30 minutes to spare before the game started. They did a good job with that part. When we decided to go ahead and go to the restroom and get some food, it was at the beginning of the second quarter. It took pretty much the entire second quarter to use the restroom and to order food and eat it. I suggest they look into the way. Concessions are spread out as well as restrooms.
Easy parking, easy in and out. Great seats, good game, eventhough it wasn't a magic night itcwas a magical experience for my youngest. Great time!
A great night watching The Magic. They won! Parking next door on the Geico Car Park was easy, both getting in and exiting. Not sure if using the bridge is the best option to enter the Kia Center. The only thing that spoiled the night was not knowing about the bag policy. Only very small bags, 4.5 x 6 inches I think, are allowed in. Good job we were parked close by. Clear details about the bag policy with the tickets would be a great help.
Gates take forever to get in and tip off is 60 min after gates
I took my twelve year old granddaughter to the game. That is what she asked for as a Christmas gift. She was very excited and had a wonderful experience.
Great evening, would like to see one in future again
We enjoyed the evening, a great spectacle of US sport. The only downside was the lack of signing or information on Uber pickups.
Another beautiful NBA experience. Everything was well organized, helpful stewards and clean places.
Incredible experience, impressive stadium and good hosting.
Seats were fantastic! Only complaints are unorganized check in at Geico garage, and Stuff NEVER came to our side. No chances of T-shirts or other free stuff. Very disappointing.
Buyer beware. Going to an Orlando Magic game is as superficial and fake hype as what the city is. Clearly trying to entertain a mostly tourist crowd so will be hard to build emotion, but having been to see Phoenix at home and Lakers at home, this was amateur.
I hit for the first time in my life a basketball arena. Everything were beyond my imagination. Thank you.
The visit to this game was amazing. The parking facilities, bathrooms and food area were well maintained. The employees was a most. And Orlando Magic win!!!!
As foreigners visiting this arena for the first time we must say it was very clean and well maintained. The staff were friendly and welcoming. Our only complaint is that the arena was wayyyyyy too cold. The AC was blasting which at time took away from the enjoyment of the game .
