Orlando Magic History
Joining the NBA in the 1989 expansion era, the Magic struggled for three years until picking center Shaquille O'Neal first in the 1992 draft. The Magic finished at .500 in the 1992–93 season, barely missing the playoffs. Then, with only a slim chance in the 1993 draft lottery, the team won the rights to pick No. 1 again. They used their selection, Chris Webber, in a trade to obtain guard Anfernee "Penny" Hardaway and future picks.
O’Neal and Hardaway led the Magic to 50 wins in the 1993–94 season and then 57 victories, as well as a trip to the NBA Finals, the following year. In the 1995–96 campaign, the Magic won a franchise-record 60 games in what would be O'Neal's last season in Orlando. They made it to the Eastern Conference finals against the Chicago Bulls.
Over the next 10 years, the Magic made the playoffs five times under the leadership of coach Doc Rivers and Hall of Fame guard Tracy McGrady, who earned two scoring titles and the 2001 Most Improved Player award during his tenure. The 2006–07 season saw Orlando start a run of six consecutive postseason appearances, as star center Dwight Howard blossomed and the Magic surrounded him with young talent and savvy veterans.
The Magic reached the second round of the playoffs in 2008 behind Howard and forwards Hidayet "Hedo" Türkoğlu and Rashard Lewis. The following season, with trade acquisition Rafer Alston filling in for injured point guard Jameer Nelson and sharpshooter J.J. Redick taking on a more prominent role, the team won 59 games and defeated the Philadelphia 76ers, the Boston Celtics and the LeBron James-led Cleveland Cavaliers in the playoffs. It earned the Magic a second trip to the NBA Finals, where they lost to the Los Angeles Lakers.
Following Howard’s trade to the Lakers in 2012, the Magic began a decade-long rebuilding process while developing notable talents like Victor Oladipo, Aaron Gordon and Nikola Vučević. The Magic’s luck seemed to improve after reaching playoff contention once again in 2019 and 2020, and landing top draft picks such as Mo Bamba, Jalen Suggs, Franz Wagner, and 2023 Rookie of the Year Paolo Banchero.

I took my twelve year old granddaughter to the game. That is what she asked for as a Christmas gift. She was very excited and had a wonderful experience.
Great evening, would like to see one in future again
We enjoyed the evening, a great spectacle of US sport. The only downside was the lack of signing or information on Uber pickups.
Another beautiful NBA experience. Everything was well organized, helpful stewards and clean places.
Incredible experience, impressive stadium and good hosting.
Seats were fantastic! Only complaints are unorganized check in at Geico garage, and Stuff NEVER came to our side. No chances of T-shirts or other free stuff. Very disappointing.
Buyer beware. Going to an Orlando Magic game is as superficial and fake hype as what the city is. Clearly trying to entertain a mostly tourist crowd so will be hard to build emotion, but having been to see Phoenix at home and Lakers at home, this was amateur.
I hit for the first time in my life a basketball arena. Everything were beyond my imagination. Thank you.
The visit to this game was amazing. The parking facilities, bathrooms and food area were well maintained. The employees was a most. And Orlando Magic win!!!!
As foreigners visiting this arena for the first time we must say it was very clean and well maintained. The staff were friendly and welcoming. Our only complaint is that the arena was wayyyyyy too cold. The AC was blasting which at time took away from the enjoyment of the game .
Fantastic experience fully recommend for anyone thing of doing it
I love Amway Center. Everytime I've went it's been a good time. One observation tho, for Magic games when we are on the halls it needs to feel like this is the Orlando Magic building. More stuff for entertainment and more wall decorations and stuff like that. I sat in the club seats and once I went for a meal it was like it was anyone's building. It needs to feel like Orlando Magic building. Have some character. Besides that, great game and great memories.
My first time at a basketball game which is very enjoyable. Was disappointed with the ‘amateur’ entertainment. I would expect with professional athletes that the entertainment would be too, i.e, cheerleaders doing a well choreographed dance. I appreciate that this is family oriented, but if you’re paying to see professional athletes, I want that reflected in the entertainment too. Alas we just had children singing and dancing which lowered my expel of the evening
It was my first time to watch the NBA basket ball game because I live in Japan. And I’m so proud of both team, Orlando magic and Los Angeles Lakers. These teams were incredible to watch. I was just obsessed with the game even if I was away from the basketball court.
Great venue first time seeing a basketball game we had a great time will definitely see more at the amway center
The whole expierence was awesome. I saw the music and drum guys do their thing live. Definitely can work a crowd when the Magic have the ball.
Great atmosphere and place to see a game. Would definitely recommend.
The game itself wasn't bad, but the constant noise through the arena sound system made it an almost unbearably unpleasant experience. The sound was deafening. The only brief moments of quiet were when the Magic were shooting free throws. Why is it necessary; if the team is good, as the Magic are this year, people will go to the game to watch basketball. Anyone that wants to listen to music already has earbuds on; there really should be some consideration for the actual basketball fans. I will never attend another event in that stadium.
Traffic around the parking garage was horrible and caused major congestion around the area. The line getting into the arena from the garage was at a standstill as people were not prepared to go through security Received inconsistent information from ushers regarding seating chart. Overall not a good experience.
