About

NEIL YOUNG AND CRAZY HORSE IN CONCERT:

Legendary singer-songwriter Neil Young continues to thrill fans with perennial outings alongside his collaborative band Crazy Horse. Whether they're bringing down the house at Carnegie Hall or sharing the stage with luminaries like Diana Krall, the band always  puts on a stellar, wide-ranging show that keeps fans on their toes. Playing marathon sets that include classics like "Old Man" and "Heart of Gold" alongside creative covers of fellow giants like Bruce Springsteen and Bob Dylan, the band's unparalleled musicianship and Young's familiar voice are sure to bring back plenty of memories.

BACKGROUND SNAPSHOT:

Since the late '60s, Neil Young and Crazy Horse have released more than 10 albums, exploring such diverse genres  as country-folk, pop, and psychedelic rock. The band is best known, however, for Neil Young's iconic folk rock songwriting, popularized by hugely successful songs like "Cinammon Girl." Never content to rest on their laurels, Young and company have remained musically prolific and sonically experimental, earning rave reviews for their 2012 double-LP release Psychedelic Pill.

FANS WHO BOUGHT TICKETS SAY:

“Neil Young and Crazy Horse play like the rock and roll legends that they are. Truly a great show reminiscent of the classics from the early days.”

“They weren't going through the motions, they were making them. Improvising, jamming, messing up, laughing, only in the way Neil and the Horse can. They were so tightly tuned in to one another and sounded great, but the best part was that they seemed happy to be there, happy to perform.”

“Neil is a genius! After all these years, he still rocks and puts on a great show!”

    Neil Young and Crazy Horse

by Kim J on 5/26/24Pine Knob Music Theatre - Clarkston

The show was fantastic, except that there was some huge blue thing blocking view of drummer. For $300.00 plus, I should be able to see the entire show/band. IT DID NOT SAY obstructed view when I purchased it. And then, I know people who bought tickets the day of show and got better seats for 1/2 of what I paid. Sad, really really sad.

by KA on 5/25/24Pine Knob Music Theatre - Clarkston

Very good show considering the age of all the members of Crazy Horse, including Neil Young was a perfect night for a concert. Don’t miss this one. I attend a lot of shows this is one I will always remember.

Neil and the Horse Ruled .

by Docdetroit on 5/25/24Pine Knob Music Theatre - Clarkston

Great show! Neil and the Horse performed like days of old. The sound was really good and the set list was all the great powerhouse tunes. Wish they could have played longer. The Knob looked good overall but the structure needs up dating. The prices for concessions were….insulting! Just ridiculous!

    Disappointed concert goer

by Gail on 5/25/24Pine Knob Music Theatre - Clarkston

This was one of the worst concerts that I have ever been to. The venue personnel were very courteous and kind. I am in a wheelchair and had handicap seating. This was nice until the concert started. Since Neil Young has some kind of problem with the concert being on the video screen. I saw absolutely NOTHING. Everyone stood in front of my. If the video screens would have been in use, I would have been able to see what was happening in the stage. Since they were not, all I saw was the heads, backs, and buttocks of the people standing in front of me. After 5 songs, we left. We decided that we could see more looking at the album covers as the music played on the turntable. I think this was the worst experience that I have ever had. It makes me think twice about purchasing tickets to other events.

    Neil rocks, venue is meh.

by Cheese on 5/25/24Pine Knob Music Theatre - Clarkston

Neil was as fantastic as ever. I screamed, I cried and I felt the historic impact of his work. Such a good sampling of his time with Crazy Horse. They are pure gold. Pine Knob is a beautiful space, but not that well managed. The food was terrible and so overpriced! The staff was nice enough, but ill informed. But hey, I guess that’s rock and roll.

    Bad venue

by Old hippie on 5/25/24Pine Knob Music Theatre - Clarkston

Neil Young was good. The opening band Reverend and stop shoppers were terrible worst band I’ve ever heard in my life. Pine Knob venue is run down. The beer selection was awful and tasted worse. All in all won’t be back.

    horse riding

by jose can u see on 5/25/24Pine Knob Music Theatre - Clarkston

I hadn't read any reviews b4 the show so i didn't know what to expect, when he opened w/Cortez the Killer, that was the song i was most anxious to hear!! After that i was sold. The drumming seemed to me a little off, maybe that's why they canceled the following 2 shows? I was taken back when he played some acoustic songs, i truly was not expecting him to do that!! I would have liked the show to have gone on another half-hour but like i told my Son "He played longer than Cher!"Neil is one of the last throwbacks to the 60's movement and if i were retired i think i would caravan to his following shows just to listen to his new songs and obscure ones. Neil Young still rocking!

by Pete V on 5/25/24Hartford HealthCare Amphitheater - Bridgeport

Amazing how 48 years after one of my favorite CDs Decade (1966 to 1976) Neil Young is still going strong. His voice is still great, energy and guitar playing still amazing. Great venue in Bridgeport CT, Hartford Healthcare Amphitheater.

by Espo on 5/25/24Pine Knob Music Theatre - Clarkston

Pine Knob was filled with excited fans from all over. Neil Young was young at heart and sounded like he did 20 yrs ago. Crazy Horse musicians jammed It was a 10 for me (70) and the two guys with me from Youngstown Ohio.

As advertised, hoped for a bit more

by Dave on 5/25/24Pine Knob Music Theatre - Clarkston

Thought it was most likely the last opportunity to see Neil Young live. Previous show set lists were an accurate picture of what everyone should have expected. Nonetheless I understand why many were dissatisfied with only a handful of classic tunes and alot of "statement "deep cut music. Enjoyed it regardless.

    Somewhat disappointed

by Mar on 5/25/24Pine Knob Music Theatre - Clarkston

The beer was expensive. Only 2 choices. No large ecreen so people on the hill had limited view. I was hopping for a few more sings from his earlier years. Didn't like the 1st band at all. Not my kind of music. I would give this concert a B

    Fun Night

by Markos on 5/25/24Pine Knob Music Theatre - Clarkston

Got a parking spot in the shade, easy access to our seats. Opening act entertaining but I came to see the Horse. Cortez was a little shaky but they came around quick. I enjoyed the set the crowd was into it. My first time at Pine Knob and it rates high. Short lines for concessions and restrooms and they had porta pots in the parking lots. People showed up early and tailgating was encouraged. Leaving the lot was slow going but it was a sold out crowd and parking was free!

Old Man look at your life

by Mashed Potatoes on 5/25/24Pine Knob Music Theatre - Clarkston

For a near 80 year old he and his band mates held up well. Not as sharp as when they were 60, 40 or 25 but heck of a show. His voice was "Shakey"as far as holding a note but if you've never heard him sing you might want to soon.
