Parking was poor, .... too far away, and unsafe in the Dark.

by Greg on 4/25/24Coliseum at Alliant Energy Center - Madison

We loved the Horse Show, and the Rodeo, but we got there at Noon on Friday, April 19, 2024, and we already had to Park in a Very Remote Parking Lot off to the Northeast that was for large Horse trailers, and when we left after dark, it was very hard to find our vehicle, and there should have been Staff, with an ATV, or Golf Cart, looking after us Patrons, and getting us to our vehicles safely, we walked around for about 30 minutes, and we crossed paths with others in the same dilemma, and they were Older Folks, and we realized that it really was not very safe being up there alone, in the dark, with hundreds of large Horse trailers obstructing everything.

    Wonderful as always

by JP on 4/24/24Coliseum at Alliant Energy Center - Madison

Spent way too much money but had a great time doing it. Vendors were all friendly and informative. A great mix for the shopping experience. If you've never been, it's a must for next year.

    Amazing Two Days

by Flicka on 4/24/24Coliseum at Alliant Energy Center - Madison

Despite the cold and wind, we had a wonderful time exploring all the vendor booths, visiting the horses in their paddocks, and attending the rodeo along with the many demonstrations at the various arena's. We were impressed with what seemed like more kid friendly activities. Keep up the good planning and work. We will be back next year.

Midwest horse fair had many talented horse trainers providing clinics. Shopping was wonderful, many options to choose from. Will return again!

    Awesome every year but cold

by Lynn on 4/23/24Coliseum at Alliant Energy Center - Madison

My daughter and I plan a 3-day stay every year. We love the clinics. We were really disappointed in a couple of them though. That has never happened before! We actually left two clinics. Seemed that many vendors were missing :( The weather in April leaves a lot to be desired. Can you move the date? We feel sorry for the outside vendors! Too many hiding inside to shop their stores. We did not shop outside until Sunday and still in our winter coats.

    Rodeo disappointed

by Sharri on 4/23/24Coliseum at Alliant Energy Center - Madison

Only 3 bull riders. Same clown every year. Tommy Turvey was the best year! Drill team was excellent

Most anticipated weekend of the year

by Jodi on 4/23/24Coliseum at Alliant Energy Center - Madison

We have been attending Horse Fair every year for a decade. This year was our first time participating with a horse. We go to the rodeo both nights, try to see every drill team, watch the Grand March and make sure we don’t miss Liberty at the end of the day. There are some really high quality clinicians who provide loads of information and education. This event is very well organized, venue is kept clean, tack sale is nuts but worth the chaos, nice variety in food vendors (prices are pretty lofty, though), special events (breakfast with Amberley Snyder this year) are cool. Highly recommend for anyone who is a bit horse crazy.
