Journey in Concert

As the original legends of arena rock, few bands in existence put on a show quite like Journey. Anchored by singer Arnel Pineda's thrilling vocals and Neal Schon's unstoppable guitars, the band continues to show fans, both old and new, exactly how it's done as they tear through marathon sets of classics like "Don't Stop Believin'" and "Open Arms." After a short break from their relentless tour schedule, they're primed to blow minds again in 2014, pairing up with Steve Miller Band for select dates that are sure to be the stuff of classic rock legend for years to come.

Journey Background

San Francisco-born Journey is the quintessential arena rock band. Assembled in 1973 from the ashes of Santana and Frumious Bandersnatch, the band has since gone through a number of line-up changes — only stalwart guitarist Neal Schon has been with every incarnation. Despite a rotating roster, the band has sold 47 million albums in the US, and is consistently named one of the ten best American rock bands in history. While the '70s and '80s provided them with the most commercial success, their current manifestation with Filipino singer Arnel Pineda has given them truly global breadth.

    Expensive and uncomfortable

by Too old for this s&/7 on 5/2/24Total Mortgage Arena - Bridgeport

Seats were way overpriced. Seats themselves were just Folding chairs they must’ve borrowed from the church next-door. Didn’t matter cause you had to stand the whole time anyway in order to see anything including the screens. Toto and journey, however, were fantastic. Would’ve enjoyed the show much more in a better venue. Or at a reasonable price. Pre-paid for parking across the street. when we got there 45 minutes before the show the parking lots were full because the attendants let everybody park however they wanted. Probably could’ve parked another 200 cars in those lots if they were parked properly. Again, music was amazing. The rest of it sucked. They even ran out of T-shirts.

    Toto/Journey Concert

by Jules on 5/2/24Total Mortgage Arena - Bridgeport

Toto was great, but when Journey came on and Arnell Was awesome. everyone was screaming so loud you could hardly hear them, But he has an excellent voice!!! I can tell you right now is an excellent performer and sounds just like Steve Perry. Journey sounds exactly as they did many many years ago!! I’m going to see them again in July at Hersheypark with Def Leppard and the Steve Miller band!! Planning better lol can’t wait

Both ToTo and Journey were amazing! I loved every minute!

    Vocals lost in the music.

by RSNFAN on 5/2/24Total Mortgage Arena - Bridgeport

Toto was great. We thought the Journey portion of the show was a lot louder than it needed to be. The loudness of the instruments overpowered the vocals.

    quite a Journey

by strobelights on 5/2/24Total Mortgage Arena - Bridgeport

The Toto and Journey concert was a sellout. sound quality was fine. Just don't understand the no bottlecap rule for water and soda.

    Great concert

by white-box on 5/2/24Total Mortgage Arena - Bridgeport

Journey Concert Monday brought back great memories from seeing them as a kid. Many thanks to promoter's who have finally found a way to bring great talent to our area. Highly recommend the 2 Bridgeport venues. Disappointed that pre-buying premium parking didn't work out because we were late and lot was full. And was given wrong guidance by 3 different venue workers to find entry to floor seating. Minor critique, the rest was great!

    Awesome, Awesome, Awesome

by Kim D. on 5/2/24Total Mortgage Arena - Bridgeport

Seeing Journey live has been on my bucket list forever. They put on an AWESOME show and did not disappoint! Neal Schon can still play great guitar, Arnel Pineda has killer vocals, and the rest of the band was fantastic! I loved the fact that drinks were being sold that were customized to the show. (I had a few “Open Arms” that were totally delicious.). Toto totally rocked the house and put on an amazing show too! Overall, I would highly recommend going to see Journey. You will not be disappointed!

    Another 70s classic

Great show, great solos, joint was rocking, everyone singing along with the bands

    Great with a few hiccups

by Dan on 5/2/24Total Mortgage Arena - Bridgeport

Wonderful show, great lighting and graphics, but vocals were hard to make out. Pineda was overpowered by the band a lot especially by Neal Schon. He's a great guitarist but at times it seemed like it was HIS concert with too many screeching guitar solos in the middle of the most popular songs that weren't in the originals. He did a great job with the lead-in to "Wheel In The Sky"but at other times he was just too loud.

    Toto/Journey

by Emmanuel on 5/2/24Total Mortgage Arena - Bridgeport

Toto were much better although signing was a bit of a struggle. We all get old and certain things are unavoidable. Journey were boring. Some songs were completely pointless and no one needs long guitar solos in every single song. Heart and soul were missing despite a strong catalogue to capitalize on. Left early….

by David on 5/2/24Total Mortgage Arena - Bridgeport

Fantastic concert! Everything we expected and more. Pineda is an excellent singer and was great with the crowd. There will never be a Journey as great as them when Steve Perry was there. But this group is 99.9% Awesomeness!!!! Will definitely see them again!!!!!!

    Amazing show

by Barbara Coco on 5/2/24Total Mortgage Arena - Bridgeport

The venue was perfect, parking reasonable, easy access for disability, venue was accommodating to change previously purchased seats to aisle seat on day of concert since I recently had a knee replacement. Journey put on a fantastic show, actually longer than expected. Sound was great without being overwhelming. Great night !

    Third Time Seeing Journey

by Gigi on 5/2/24Total Mortgage Arena - Bridgeport

This was my third time seeing Journey (first was in 2009, and then again in 2011). It was amazing then, and it was just as amazing this time around. They have not lost their edge at all. Working on seeing them again with Deff Leppard and Heart in August!

Journey - 4/29/24 Total Mortgage Arena

by DN on 5/2/24Total Mortgage Arena - Bridgeport

This was my first Journey concert and it was the last day of the Freedom Tour for the band. It was great to see some of the original band members. Though i do miss Steve Perry, Arnel did an admirable job even though he's been with the band for 16 years. Overall performance was good. Toto as an opener was solid.

    Great show!

by Dee on 5/1/24Scope Arena - Norfolk

Great show from Toto to the last song. Disappointed Journey didn’t have an encore! I haven’t been to concert in a long time but always lookec forward to the encore!

    Spectacular from start to finish

by DC on 4/30/24Scope Arena - Norfolk

From the moment Toto walked on stage to the massive confetti/streamer release at the end of Journey’s show, the Journey/Toto show in Norfolk was superb. They rocked all the songs you wanted to hear with energetic professionalism. Go see them if you can.

    Learning on the fly

by Gooey on 4/30/24Scope Arena - Norfolk

Seats were for small and skinny people ONLY. Toto sound was mushy to okay as they played. Same with Journeys Soundsystem. I paid almost $1,000 for 2 tickets for good, not great seats (f-1 row4) People crowded the floor in front so now we had to stand to see band. If I'd known I would have bought cheap seats and ran down to the stage like the experienced locals. My wife and I deserve a better deal if we trust you to buy again. The bands played great but should have played longer and performed encores.

    Awesome!!!!

    by A G on 4/30/24Scope Arena - Norfolk

Took my daughter to the Journey/Toto concert for her 41st birthday (she’s a HUGE 80’s music fan and Journey is her favorite band) Both bands gave energetic and passionate performances!
