    GG Wingmen

by buzzhead on 4/17/18Crystal Bay Club Casino Crown Room - Crystal Bay

My first time seeing Golden Gate Wingmen and they were Awesome. First set was more like an early Jerry/Melvin show, circa mid 70's an the second set was just more jammy Dead like. Loved every note! Always love going to The Crystal Bay Club too, one of my favorite venues!

    Wingmen fly high again

by deadscott on 3/6/17Sherman Theater - Stroudsburg

Saw both this show and the night before, both were grate. The Sherman show had very high energy, particularly Jay Lane on drums was a monster this night. Great set list and a whole lot of fun!

    just ok

by TimBarrymore on 3/4/17Sherman Theater - Stroudsburg

I thought they were more about what they wanted to play as opposed to what the crowd wanted to hear. At one point they played some endless obscure Dylan song followed by the long slow Dead song Terrapin Station. They started strong but their set selection kind of put the crowd to sleep. Good musicians but a poor set list. Plus they were a half hour late to start.

    Great show, Late start

by musicfan803 on 4/1/16Irving Plaza - New York

I was excited to see the Golden Gate Wingmen, it was my first show for them. I was only able to stay for the first set as the show started a little past 10:30pm, not the already late scheduled start of 9:30pm and with the set break just before midnight, I regretfully had to leave. Not going to totally put this on the Wingmen, I understand the venue had another scheduled event earlier in the day. For that I probably won't ever go back to see a show at Irving Plaza. As for the music, the first set was amazing and the boys just sounded awesome. Became a big fan of Reed Mathis's bass playing. Thankfully John K allows his show to be taped and I was able to download this full show and catch the second set, which also did not disappoint. 5 stars for the band and the music, 0 stars for the venue.

I'll never go back to Irving Plaza

by SerpentofDreams on 3/29/16Irving Plaza - New York

The concert got off on the wrong foot when it started more than one hour after the originally scheduled time of 9:30. People had to wait on line outside to get in. While I had checked the website and was aware of the late start, if I had known prior to buying my ticket, I would have passed. Apparently a rap concert had been scheduled in the afternoon. The people who worked at the venue were tired and grouchy, almost abusive. As far as the music, the bass player, Reed Mathis, had an enhanced role. He plays lead bass a lot of the time which was interesting but took some getting used to. I could not however get used to the fact that he chewed gum throughout, even when he sang. Jeff Chimenti, the keyboardist, played a very minor role, which was disappointing as he can be a tremendous presence. A lot of new or esoteric material was played during the first set.

    Irving Plaza Sucks

by Jabstep on 3/29/16Irving Plaza - New York

The Wingmen were awesome! the band just gets better and better with time. But Irving Plaza was supposed to open doors at 9, but didn't until 9:35 on a cold night. Show was supposed to start at 9:30, but didn't start until 10:35!

    GGW was for veterans

by Youranus on 7/29/15Brighton Music Hall - Boston

GGW are pros playing for a veteran crowd. Seemed like everyone was on the same page. They went deep and we all met up there.
