We took our 7-year granddaughter to the production and she loved it. My husband, who doesn't really enjoy plays, also loved it. That says a lot about how good this was. Plays, especially musicals, are my thing and this production ranks at the top of my favorites. I would see it again and again. It was so well done!
If my review was on the show it would be 5 stars, but the Orpheum seating was ridiculous! My husband has had both knees replaced and does very well otherwise. There was no leg room for anyone over 5'5. We noticed a lot of faces showing thir pain as well. It was too bad (it was our first time there) I noticed there were some handicapped seating with regular chairs so anyone with joint problems try for them or don't go. Again, the show was awesome!
This show is so uplifting, funny and amazing (and worth the price of the ticket). I had seen Lion King years ago and I loved it ~ But this "newer improved"version could not be better! Everyone involved in this production.... Hats off to you!! Thank you ~
We absolutely loved this performance of The Lion King. The actors and sets did not disappoint and kept us amazed throughout the entire show. From beginning to end, my daughters (6 and 8) along with their grandmas and myself were captivated by the beauty and strength of this show. Highly recommend!
Lion King remains an amazing theatrical experience for both kids and adults. There’s simply nothing else like it. I’ve seen Lion King four times, and I still get tears in my eyes when all of the animals walk in for the first time. The way the animals have been imagined, the music, and of course the story, are all breath taking. Can’t wait until my fifth time!
The production itself was terrific and was enjoyed by 3 generations of the family. The grand entrance was phenomenal. We all felt the dialogue was often difficult to understand. Don’t know if the speaker system was at fault or the actors spoke too rapidly/didn’t enunciate. Getting the tickets was a total nightmare and they were very expensive, with all the add-ons. Next time, I would make the trek to the theater and get the tickets right at the box office.
Make sure you're in your seats when the show starts to catch an amazing display of characters, costumes, and performers! This show had us mesmerized from start to finish. What little props they had they used magnificently. I would recommend this show to anyone who loved the animated version!
Went to see the Lion King on Saturday April 26th at the orpheum in Mpls, it was one of the best I’ve ever seen. The actors, the story and the venue were the best, highly recommend to all (young-old). You won’t be disappointed.
Our first time seeing the North American Lion King production tour! What a wonderful experience! Absolutely loved every bit of the show, and it was so moving! We had Excellent seats as well! All I could say after the show was Wow Wow Wow! I can't wait for Lion King to come back to Minneapolis if they plan in touring again!
