Cleveland Browns Team History

The Cleveland Browns franchise was founded in 1945 as a member of the All-America Football Conference. With the establishment of the team during World War II, the Browns did not play their first regular-season game until 1946, after the war ended. In 1950, the Browns were selected as one of only three AAFC teams to merge with the National Football League.

During their first 40 years in the NFL, the Browns reached the playoffs 22 times. They won four NFL championships between 1950 and 1964, 11 NFL American/Eastern Conference championships, and three NFL Century Division titles. They also won AFC Central Division championships in 1971, 1980, 1985, 1986, 1987, and 1989. In addition, 23 former Browns have been inducted into the Pro Football Hall of Fame, including Jim Brown, Paul Brown, Otto Graham, Lou Groza, and Marion Motley and Bill Willis — two of the four Black players who helped break the NFL’s race barrier in 1946.

    Training Camp Day 11

by J.H. Jr on 8/12/22CrossCountry Mortgage Campus - Berea

Having oreregistered for handicap parking we were directed to the entrance where the handicap spots are located at the campus. When exiting the car, my friend and I were told by a Browns security member that the handicap exit was closed today because of flooding on the west side, where most of the fan activities and the puppy adoption area is located. We were told we would be shuttled by golf cart to the opposite side( the Sideline Club) entrance. After waiting several minutes a golf cart picked us up and dropped us off right at the entrance. After a very short walk, we were welcomed to the bleachers and fan viewing area by a very nice elderly gentleman working for Landmark Security. I recognized him as he had worked an entrance to a parking lot in Canton during Hall of Fame weekend last Thursday while I was driving a courtesy golf cart. My friend and I enjoyed the practice from the top row of a 3 row set of bleachers marked for handicapped folks. I have 2 bad knees and have a very hard time walking any distance. I do hope that the Browns will continue to use thes golf carts for handicap people the rest of this training camp and in years to come because the handicap folks DO APPRCIATE THEM VERY MUCH!

    Here We Go Brownies…

by KC on 8/10/22CrossCountry Mortgage Campus - Berea

A little disappointed that everyone was placed in a very small viewing area. It seems to me that the Browns could have figured out a way to get fans over to the other set of bleachers regardless of the amount of rain from the previous days. Fans were blocking walkways, standing in front of others that had found out of the way locations to stand and frankly made the day less pleasurable.

    NOT GOOD

by HV on 8/10/22CrossCountry Mortgage Campus - Berea

I drove over 2 hours to get there. I baked in 90 degree heat for nothing. I brought a ball to get signed I didn’t get one signature. Security treated everyone horribly. They were picking people out of the stands to get autographs. Terrible

    UNCALLED FOR

by NOT A FAN on 8/9/22CrossCountry Mortgage Campus - Berea

My family came to celebrate 16th bday! We got there really early had sits right on field. We were ambushed by "selfish fans". My 7-8 year old were, pushed, stepped on, scared and crying! We brought our own helmet that was already signed, which got stolen, when we trying not to get knocked down. There were other elderly fans, with a cane, getting pushed around. There must be something done to make this a safe experience. Those grown boys who hurt my kids should be proud that you go your signature. Thank you Browns Security and Fans.

    Browns training camp

by Mary S on 8/6/22CrossCountry Mortgage Campus - Berea

Very well run. The free water was great as well as the other gifts they were giving out. I would suggest to bring a cushion to sit on since the seats get veryhot.

It doesn't get any better than this

by Grumpy old man on 8/6/22CrossCountry Mortgage Campus - Berea

The majority of Browns fan will never get a chance to see the Browns as close as this and when you add that it's free you can't beat it. Kids of all ages have an opportunity to get autographs and to speak to players you never imagined you'd be able to say a word to. Simply put, it doesn't get any better than going to a Browns practice.

    Great to be back!

by KenP on 8/4/22CrossCountry Mortgage Campus - Berea

The total experience at Browns training camp is always exciting and electric, and this was more of the same. The new seating is impressive and very fan friendly, and the players were more than willing to accommodate us s after practice with autographs and a little conversation. A wonderful experience for myself and my grandchildren.

    Location, location, location

by Grumpy old fan on 8/4/22CrossCountry Mortgage Campus - Berea

Each year I look forward to attending a Browns practice session and taking pictures. Fortunately I have a telephoto lens as it seems all the activities are held on the facilities western football field. Fans who sit in the bleachers on the east side of the fields can see what's going on, but only from a distance. Despite there being more bleachers for fans on the eastern side anyone attending will get a better close up experience by going westward, young man, go westward.
