About

Cage the Elephant is a powerhouse rock and roll band from Bowling Green, Kentucky, that combines blues, classic rock, and funk into an eclectic and raucously fun sound. They formed in 2006 and signed to Relentless Records after playing the 2007 South by Southwest music festival. The band’s self-titled debut studio album was released in 2008 to commercial and critical success, spawning singles “Free Love,” “In One Ear,” and the hit “Ain’t No Rest for the Wicked,” catapulting the band into the UK and US mainstream. Their sophomore album Thank You, Happy Birthday reached No. 2 on the Billboard 200 chart with singles “Shake Me Down” and “Around My Head.” Cage the Elephant toured relentlessly for ticket holders in 2009 and 2010, opening for Foo Fighters, Manchester Orchestra, Silversun Pickups and Stone Temple Pilots. Their third studio album Melophobia came out in October 2013 on RCA Records with the single “Come a Little Closer,” opening up their sound with alt-rock and punk textures. They will finish out the year in concert with their high-octane and kinetic live show in support of Muse.

    Best concert ever.

by Senny on 9/30/21Riverfront Park - Harrisburg

Absolute best concert I have ever been to. The venue was gorgeous, the people were so nice, and the band was incredible. Matt interacted with the crowd so much and kept everyone engaged throughout the entire show. I would pay every last cent of my life savings to relive that night.

This is one of the most exciting bands I've seen in a long t

I would equate them to the Rolling Stones as far as creative staying power. They have so much energy and incredible creativity that will make them reach the longevity of so few bands. Their sound is sensational and quite refreshing for an old guy like me who grew up on the Beatles, Stones, and Zeppelin!

loved the concert and the vibes

    by M. L. on 12/9/19The Anthem - Washington

I love Cage the Elephant, who put on a fantastic show. The Anthem is such a cool venue as well and though it took a bit of time to get in through the doors they were pretty efficient and handled things well. The various options of bars to get drinks is nice so that it never gets super crowded at any one. People in the crowd can always be obnoxious when trying to push to the front but that's only their own fault. Overall great time, from the openers throughout the show.

    Cage

by Bobo on 12/8/19The Anthem - Washington

Wasn’t feeling well and the wife suggested we skip the show. I sucked it up, took some meds and saw the show. So glad we did. Cage is awesome. They have a great body of work and put on a great show. Had never been to the Anthem and it was beautiful. Great time even without feeling great.

    AMAZING SHOW!!!

by Khara on 12/6/19The Anthem - Washington

Cage the Elephant put on the most phenomenal show! Their front man is SO TALENTED and has more energy than any other human that maybe has ever lived. Winnetka Bowling League and Lovelytheband were great support and put on good shows/played great music too. Worth way more than the ticket cost. Also, love The Anthem as a venue.

Smelled like alcohol and drunk people kept falling into us

by Anika Holton on 12/6/19The Anthem - Washington

I thought the overalls concert was pretty good. Unfortunately though, it smelled a lot like beer because these older guys (in their 40s maybe) kept spilling their drinks on us (me and my friends) and kept obnoxiously dancing and yelling to the point where we couldn’t focus on the music because we needed to stand our ground. Quite unfortunate. Other than that, the venue was very pretty.

    Not a Fillmore Fan

by Jenn on 12/6/19The Fillmore Charlotte presented by Cricket Wireless - Charlotte

Oversold show. Too many people crammed into taped off zones you must be in to stand still and watch the show. There are support beams throughout the building that obstruct the view of the stage. I saw very little of a show I paid too much for. Drinks are outrageously expensive and there are more bars areas than areas to stand. This was my first event at the Fillmore and probably my last. Expensive tickets. Very difficult to find a good view of the stage. Entirely too many people. I felt like cattle being herded into a corral. The bands sounded great. Venue was poor.

I was not prepared for Cage

by Shea on 12/6/19The Anthem - Washington

I was a casual fan of Cage the Elephant, ambivalent about seeing them live. I went anyway...Absolutely spectacular performance, a true rock show reminiscent of the best days of the Stones, Bowie, and the Strokes. Wow! The openers were fun as well...great show!

    Awesome! Awesome! Awesome!

    by kherr09 on 12/6/19The Anthem - Washington

First, the venue was amazing! First time ever going and parking was so easy. Even leaving the venue was super easy and not overly croweded (also left during the encore unfortunately). The staff at the bars were so helpful, funny, and friendly. As for the performance, first time attending a Cage the Elephant concert in 5 years and they were amazing!! I can't wait for them to come back closer to the East coast. Love them!

No bad seat in the house!

    by Ziph3326 on 12/6/19The Anthem - Washington

Amazing, modern, easy to get to. Not a bad seat in the house. Cage the Elephant was incredible, and surprisingly Winnetka Bowling League was a better performance than LovelytheBand.

    Great Venue

by David L on 12/6/19The Anthem - Washington

Venue is great. We had seats and was perfect. Went down to GA area for a bit also. Bars everywhere. Cage The Elephant was excellent and I also enjoyed Lovelytheband. I usually blow off openers but I knew couple songs and was psyched with their performance.

Great bands too long between last set

by js on 12/6/19The Anthem - Washington

The venue and atmosphere was great. Flow with the first 2 bands was great. But the long delay in between the last band was uncalled for. Pushed people were as they had to leave and make last metro. Poor management ☹️

    Fantastic!!

by Theinfamousjack on 12/6/19The Anthem - Washington

This was my eighth Cage show second time at the Anthem. I can’t say enough about the bands performance, Matt is truly a legend in the making. High energy with a set list that played out like a hour long playlist you would make for a road trip, singing every word along with the band. The venue is also very accommodating many bars and bathrooms on every floor. The staff is great and very friendly. For someone who drives almost two hours to go to shows I can definitely say it’s worth the trip.

The best concert I’ve ever been to. Will never forget it.

Cage the Elephant was the most insane experience of my life. Matt Shultz creates a new definition for what a performance is and should be.
