    Broadway Christmas Wonderland was Delightful!

by Clampsy on 12/3/16Scranton Cultural Center - Scranton

I went out for a night with the ladies and we had such a wonderful time seeing this performance. The music, singing, dancing, props, & lighting was wrapped up in one terrific Christmas show. So much variety in songs and styles, there was something for every age to enjoy! I recommend seeing this show if you want entertainment and you want to get into the Christmas spirit!!

Mandy and Patti together - what a show!

by VTCAROL on 7/7/14Scranton Cultural Center - Scranton

The only thing better than seeing Mandy Patinkin or Patti Lupone is seeing them together! They opened with Sondheim - of course, given how much of his work they've both sung - and gave it their all. They talked about "Evita", where they met, and each performed their most memorable song. Patti's voice is still powerful and quite wonderful; Mandy's voice has deepened a bit with age, and that adds depth and meaning to some of his songs. Their Rodgers & Hammerstein medly late in the show was a delightful close to a very memorable evening.

    Patti and Mandy

by bonesios on 5/16/14Scranton Cultural Center - Scranton

I was so excited to see this duo perform; asked for the tickets for Christmas. But unfortunately I was a little disappointed. Many of the songs they performed were from obscure shows, or at least shows I did not know. But the main disappointment was from the acoustics. we were seated in Row R center, and the words they were singing and speaking were garbled at best. Unless I knew the song, I was unable to understand what they were singing or talking about. The people sitting next to us, and in front of us and behind, had the same problem. One of the gentlemen sitting directly in front of me went back to the sound technician at the intermission to tell him the problem, but things did not improve in the second half. It was fun to see these stars in person, and the performances of "What a circus" and "don't cry for me, Argentina" brought the house down, but the combination of obscure songs and acoustics made for a disappointing evening.

    2 Very Talented Singers/Actors

by Camrose on 5/15/14Scranton Cultural Center - Scranton

These 2 singers Mandy Patinkin and Patti LuPone are totally attuned to one another when offering their songs and dialogs. They respect each other and it shows. I have always wanted to see Mandy Patinkin in concert and I am not disappointed. Great show, great music!!! One thing I have to say is that a smaller venue would have made this an even better show, the large hall detracted from the intimacy of the singing.

    Patti lupone and mandy patinkin

by SueConne on 5/14/14Scranton Cultural Center - Scranton

How awesome to be entertained by these Broadway icons! The choice of songs was interesting; not what i expected which was actually a nice surprise. This included a scene from Carousel between Julie and Bill- singing and dialogue that was absolutely mesmerizing. There was genuine affection between these two that have been friends for decades. When Patti sang a song from Gypsy, my life was complete. When she sang "Don't Cry for Me Argentina" my 13 year old whispered that her life is complete! Thoroughly enjoyed this show and would love to go again!

A wonderful evening. Mandy and Patti packed more fun and music into two hours than I would have thought possible. An evening free of fireworks and giant speakers. Truly an intimate evening with two iconic performers and accompanying piano and bass.

    Very Enjoyable

by Gcas on 5/14/14Scranton Cultural Center - Scranton

I thought was very enjoyable and the professionalism of Mandy and Patti was great. My only negative was not if by design, but the sound should have been louder as some songs were hard to hear.

Saw this show on Broadway and it was fabulous. Took my mother to Scranton cultural center to see show and it totally looses it magic in a larger theatre. It was difficulty to hear them and we were in orchestra 18 rows back.

Hard to follow, couldn't understand what they were trying to do or get across. I didn't think their voices went well together. I was very disappointed.
