Well done ! Loved every song and the sets were great.
The cast , the scenery, the clothing, acoustics all were first class! A great show I loved it. Cast was top notch. No complaints here!! Yes
Awesome show. Exceeded my expectations. I could see it again!
What a show! A trip down Memory Lane for the Baby Boomers. So many talented performers, I was enthralled!
You’ve heard of the phrase “perfect combination?” Well this play was the perfect combination of music and lyrics and ESPECIALLY Carole and her story! I had no idea of the catalog of songs that she had written! Her story was just awesome! The play made me feel like I had a front row seat not just at her concert—but a front row seat of the timeline of her life!
Being Carol King fans, we had very high expectations for this play and we were not disappointed. The music was excellent and true to the original records. The story was very touching. Sarah Bockel's portrayal of Carol King was spot on. The Scranton Cultural Center is a great and way better than a trip to the city. I would definitely recommend this show to everyone!
Talent outstanding....love the story and music....
Great show and a very nice venue. First time we have been there. Definitely will go back again. Also found a nice pub for dinner prior to going to the show.
Brilliant actors truly brought this beautiful artist’s story to life. Wonderful cast, wonderful story. It was funny and moving. I brought my 11 year old daughter and she loved it! Thankyou for instilling in next gen a love for the arts.
Chicago was fantastic! Scranton Cultural Center was a dump! At least paint the place!!!
The play was excellent. Just watched the show on TV. It was better in certain parts in person.
Such a simply presented show that entertains, excites, and leaves you wanting more ! Cast was phenomenal, orchestra perfect, great venue ,and no shortage of dance perfection
I have been to this venue before and always enjoy it. There are multiple parking garages less than a block away and they have refreshments at a very reasonable price. We got a big soft pretzel and a coke for $5. There are no elevators and a lot of stairs. The bathrooms are downstairs and if you don't want to climb stairs to your seat you will have to pay for the more expensive tickets. Just something to keep in mind. The show did not have as much dancing as we would have liked which was disappointing but the characters were portrayed very well and the cast was a lot of fun.
This was by far one of the best shows I've seen at the Scranton Cultural Center. Took my two daughters and all three of us were mesmerized by the performance. From the lighting, to the choreography, to the songs and acting, it was a show I would highly recommend to everyone.
I've seen a lot of shows in the past, but have never seen one where there were no scenery or clothing changes. I mean, if you're going to play a cop at least splurge for a cop uniform! The person played a cop but was still in their dance attire. They must not have spent a lot of money to put on this play! Also---I didn't care for the actors begging for money at the end of the show.
The music and acting was superb, definitely a show worth seeing.
The show was FABULOUS !!! My husband and I really enjoyed it.
Took my husband, mom & 11 and 17 year old nieces and they all loved it! Very well done neat story! Go see!
I thought the show would be more comical but was pleasantly surprised to discover the story behind the play. How important it is for people to be accepting of others. Side note - I wanted to go shoe shopping when it was over. :)
The place was beautiful and the singers were mostly great! The actor who played Charlie in my show seemed a little off at times and not the absolute best but I still enjoyed my experience very much! A few technical difficulties like mics not being on when actor/actresses were speaking occurred but nothing huge just a few missed lines. In the end, I loved the show and even with a few mistakes, I recommend!
