About

Bluesy singer/songwriter Bonnie Raitt has worked long and hard for her multiple Grammy Awards, hit singles and chart-topping records. Since her 1971 eponymous debut, the California-born performer and long-time activist has steadily maintained a music career, albeit with definite peaks and valleys. The red-headed songstress, one of the only women of her time to play guitar using the bottleneck technique, unleashed seven albums in just nine years, though her big commercial break came with her 10th studio set, 1989’s “Nick of Time.” That 11-track collection, produced by Don Was, earned three Grammy Awards, including Album of the Year.

Not only has the Rock and Roll Hall of Famer tackled multiple U.S. tours and international runs, but she’s also a frequent participant in events of social activism, such as Farm Aid and Amnesty International concerts.

Raitt’s 16th full-length album and most recent studio release, “Slipstream,” hit retailers in 2012. Not only did ticket sales for the support tour soar, but Raitt also landed the best-selling blues album of the year and took home the Grammy for Best Americana Album.

    Amazing Bonnie

by Kaize on 5/12/24North Charleston Performing Arts Center - North Charleston

I saw Bonnie Raitt a VERY long time ago when she toured with Bruce Hornsby. I think I enjoyed her even more this time. She is so talented, and so down to earth. I especially love her for her old relationship with Stevie Ray Vaughan. I hope I get to see her again!

Bonnie Raitt never disappoints! I’ve seen her at least 10 times starting in 1980. She’s always excellent.

    74 and Going Strong!

by MNSwede on 5/12/24North Charleston Performing Arts Center - North Charleston

Maya Sharpe opened the concert and was a delight to see and hear in-person. Bonnie Raitt is an example of a complete professional songwriter, musician, and superb band leader. We thoroughly enjoyed ourselves and all of those at the venue in North Charleston with us had a great time. Bonnie and her band are assume and we look forward to seeing her again soon.

    Absolutely Spectacular

by Finn on 5/12/24North Charleston Performing Arts Center - North Charleston

I enjoyed every minute of this concert. The opening act, Maia Sharp, was new to me and now I have another artist to listen to and love. The only negative was the audience. There was too much hooting and hollering while Bonnie Raitt was singing. She even said something about it, although she said it respectfully. For the final songs, the entire front row stood and danced, which was distracting and juvenile, and these were not young people. I am not either. Nothing could diminish the joy of seeing Bonnie Raitt in person.

Bonnie Raitt, 3rd row, Macon Auditorium... Great Show!

by CSC on 5/11/24Macon City Auditorium - Macon

Wow, the show was great! Sitting third row, center, was delicious! I've been going to see Bonnie since 1973, my sophomore year in college. Bonnie, in Macon, was like being at a reunion of old friends. The Macon Auditorium is a historic venue that should not be missed!

    The location was extremely hot,

by Kay on 5/10/24Macon City Auditorium - Macon

The A/C should have been turned on early in the morning not right before the event started. As it ended it was finally cooling off. Poor planning!!

Bonnie Hasn’t Lost a Lick or a Note!

by Long time fan on 5/10/24Macon City Auditorium - Macon

Bonnie Raitt’s performance on Tuesday night was outstanding. I haven’t seen her on stage live in 20 years and she was as fantastic as ever. I would go to see her again in a minute if she had another show anywhere within driving distance. She’s poignant, passionate, compassionate and so very talented. We travelled from Atlanta to Macon for the concert and happy that we did.

    Macon City Auditorium

by Paul Smith on 5/10/24Macon City Auditorium - Macon

The show was outstanding. However the temperatures in the auditorium were too warm. The A/C need to be turned down for cooler temperatures.

    Bonnie was on fire

by Tommyboy on 5/10/24Macon City Auditorium - Macon

Got to see one of my favorite artists, Bonnie Raitt at the Macon City Auditorium and she was fantastic! The Auditorium is on older venue, but very clean, well maintained and did not appear to have a bad seat in the house. Plenty of concession areas that were well-staffed and they got the orders out quickly. Bonnie and the band rolled through a setlist of her music catalog that was a mix of old and new as well as a few hits and covers of some great songs. The band was outstanding and Bonnie never sounded better. Her voice is as sweet, strong and full of feeling as it was when I saw her the first time in the mid-70s. So glad we made the drive from Atlanta to see this wonderful artists performing in an equally fantastic venue. 10 out of 10!

    Really Great Concert in Macon

by OldTech on 5/10/24Macon City Auditorium - Macon

Bonnie's band played flawlessly and super tight, featuring the great Hutch Hutchinson on Bass. Bonnie absolutely nailed her vocals and guitar work. The sound was as good as I've heard anywhere, and the subwoofers on either side of the stage didn't overstep their bounds. I've been to a lot of shows at this venue but I don't remember a crowd like that. They must have sold every ticket to the show. My Reason for 4 stars instead of 5 have nothing to do with the show. * Parking - Not the best around the Macon City Auditorium and the only good lot closed about 2 minutes after we pulled in. We were there an hour and a half before the show and normally it is not that much of an issue but I would hate to have been someone with mobility impairment to try and walk that uphill trek from nearly 2 blocks away. * Elevator - There is none, making the balcony seats tough and basement bathrooms and concessions This certainly is not the artist's fault. The venue management should think hard about fixing the venue.

    Unbelievable sound.

by speedgoddess on 5/10/24Macon City Auditorium - Macon

At 75 years old you’d think Bonnie would start to slow down, but she sounded as good of not better in person than any of her recorded songs. Her voice is so smooth and just perfection. Definitely impressed!!

    Great sounding band

by Hutch on 5/10/24Macon City Auditorium - Macon

BR sounds as good as ever, but her band took me by surprise. Killer band. My only ding is, the floor seats are very uncomfortable.

    Stellar performance in all respects.

by BG on 5/10/24Macon City Auditorium - Macon

No complaints at all with artists and concert. Venue - Macon City Auditorium is an acoustical gem but no air conditioning on an evening at 87 degrees - miserable conditions for audience and performers. Even the affable Raitt made a funny comment.

    Great, as usual!

by BayGal on 5/10/24Macon City Auditorium - Macon

Bonnie Raitt's concert in Macon was great! I have seen Bonnie many times and she never disappoints! Maia Sharpe is a great addition to the tour. Only issue was with the venue...it was very hot and humid the day of the concert and it seemed the auditorium air conditioning wasn't turned on until the concert started! I have attended other concerts at the Macon Auditorium and have never had that problem. Still, I had a great time!
