  • Simply Wonderful

by VictoryVel on 5/11/11Atlanta Civic Center - AtlantaRating: 5 out of 5

I couldn't tell you who's performance was the best-each performance left us craving more of those old school jams!!! The only way it could have been better, is if I had front row seats!!!!!! Simply Wonderful performances!!!

  • 70's Soul Jam

    by wmcdow1 on 5/10/11Atlanta Civic Center - AtlantaRating: 3 out of 5

This concert was not worth the 124.00 dollars(2). They advertised 10 acts. Only 5 performed. It was good to hear the old song's but each act only sang the first verse of the song. I felt cheated and robbed considering the amount of money that was spent. The only group that really performed were The Stylistic's who put on a good performance. That is the only reason I gave a rating of 3 star's. The concert ended at 10:30 what a waste.

  • 70 Soul Jam dynamic!!!!

    by coral2d on 5/9/11Atlanta Civic Center - AtlantaRating: 5 out of 5

Love,Love,Loved the show and entertainers. There is nothing better that OLD SCHOOL!!! Everyone sounded remarkable, expecially the sopranos of each group. This is the era when you really had to know how to sing clearly and we could understand the words and get into the meaning....real sensuous!?!?! I would recommend all of those that missed the show, to catch it next time....It has to be a next time. P.S. Hate the civic center!!!!!

  • 70's Soul Jam

by Lchops on 5/9/11Atlanta Civic Center - AtlantaRating: 5 out of 5

The show was great from beginning to end. Very classy acts performing and Cuba Gooding Sr. was a great choice for Emcee. There need's to be more of this venue music showcased in Atlanta in the future.

  • THE STYLISTICS STILL REIGN SUPREME, A CLASS ACT.

by GARIHAM on 5/9/11Atlanta Civic Center - AtlantaRating: 4 out of 5

EXTREMELY GREAT SHOW FROM BEGINNING TO END. THE DRAMATICS HAVE IMPROVED THEIR QUALITY OF PERFORMANCE EXPONENTIALLY. THE STYLISTICS MAINTAINED THEIR SUPERLATIVE POSITION AS THE NUMBER ONE GROUP.

  • 70's Soul Jam is Worth Seeing!!!

by SpiceyD on 5/9/11Atlanta Civic Center - AtlantaRating: 5 out of 5

I thoroughly enjoyed the concert. After all of these years they sound just like their records....just beautiful. All of the groups were great and just to be able to go back down memory lane was relaxing....it was a good time. I wanted to see New Birth and their show didn't disappoint. It was good to hear good music without all of the cursing and name calling...music then was about love and respect....the kind that makes your soul feel good and helps you to relax after a long day. I'm glad I was able to attend and look forward to more concerts like this.

  • memories of back when

by vintageclass on 3/16/11Rochester Auditorium Theatre - RochesterRating: 5 out of 5

Have you ever wondered why those old groups were worth promoting? The lights come up and on stage appears a group of stylishly clad performers backdropped by the music of your youth. Memories of red light parties, high way cruising, and first kissess flood your mind, and you're comforted by the familiarity of the tones and lyrics. You sway and groove, laugh and sing, and leave knowing that you were part of something that has made its mark in history! Creative performers, touching songs, and talented musicians are worth revisiting over, and over again. Bravo! Bravo! Bravo!

All I can say is Right on Right on!!!!! I took my adult children because they grew up listening and dancing with me to this music. They love it as much as I do. When we get together when we all have a free weekend, we cook up all kinds of food make drinks, and sing and dance and laugh about the "Good Old Days" to all the Soul Music.all of us have CD's and yes even some cassetts. This show was fabulous! All the artist were beutiful to listen to and to look at. to see Cuba Gooding Sr. come out on stage and give his Soul to us all alone filled my heart up to the brim!! My kids are still talking about how much they enjoyed finally seeing the artist in person sing all the songs they Love from their childhood and still listen to to day.

  • TOO LOUD for all the opening acts

by abpp on 3/14/11Rochester Auditorium Theatre - RochesterRating: 2 out of 5

for the opening acts, the band was so loud that you couldn't hear the singers.

  • Stylistics still got it!!

    by CindyB34 on 3/14/11Rochester Auditorium Theatre - RochesterRating: 4 out of 5

70's Soul Jam in Rochester featured Manhattans, Cuba Gooding Sr (Main Ingredient), Delfonics and Stylistics. I thought the show was fantastic. The Manhattans were not that great, but everyone else was awesome!! The Stylistics were exceptionally good!!

  • 70's Soul Jam was fantastic!!

by Estaloca on 3/8/11Arie Crown Theater - ChicagoRating: 5 out of 5

My fiance' and I had a great time. All the groups were amazing, but we absolutely loved the sounds of the Stylistics. It felt like we had stepped back in time, eventhough we're only in our 40's ... ha. We would see this show again!!

  • Great Show!

    by AKA1994 on 3/6/11Arie Crown - ChicagoRating: 5 out of 5

I really enjoyed this concert. and sitting in the pit was fantastic. I have been to Arie Crown many times but never had the opportunity to sit in the pit and I will definitely be back. I have seen the Sytlistics before and they were in true form ultimate performers. They performed all of my songs and I was very happy. It was worth the wait. Harold Melvin's Blue Notes have a lot of energy. I have seen them once before and they were very good. I wish they could have performed longer. Heatwaver was good. I had never seen them before but would see them again. I saw their special, Where are they now, recently on TV One so I felt like I knew them even better. The Dramatics were good. However, the facility messed up their sound. It was too loud and I can tell they were upset. I wish they had performed the song they had with Snoop as they have done in previous shows. Lastly, I felt sorry for the Manhattans. The sound was teribble and they only had 15 minutes.

  • 70 jam''

by Zinnias on 3/5/11Arie Crown Theater - ChicagoRating: 4 out of 5

The event and venue were all good event. The only suggestion I do have is that they should not allow people to come in late blocking the view .People should be there at the time the event starts if not only 2-3 person at time should be sited. Also couples should not change sitting as they pleased because it causes the same problem.

  • Memory Lane

by Mnares on 3/3/11Arie Crown Theater - ChicagoRating: 3 out of 5

It's always nice to see the old school groups, I always have a good time when I watch them perform.

  • All the groups did great!

    by Trio167 on 3/3/11Arie Crown Theater - ChicagoRating: 4 out of 5

It was fun to see the groups perform their hits. They sound just like we remember. We were encouraged to sing with them and that was great fun. Colorful costumes and fantastic dance moves brought back so many good memories. It's one of those events not to be missed. Herb Kent was a great host. His presence and his voice just calms and comforts us. It's like being home. Thanks for a great time!!
