  • 70s Soul Jam was awesome!

by SusanSharon on 1/13/15USF Sun Dome - TampaRating: 5 out of 5

Such a blast from the past! Just about every song brought me back to my highschool days in the early seventies! Really enjoyed the show. 3 solid hours of entertainment! I've had the songs playing in my head for days now! I just wish that more people had heard about it so it could have sold out. Need to step up the advertising for remaining cities.

  • 70's soul Jam was Priceless

by Riderdie on 1/13/15USF Sun Dome - TampaRating: 5 out of 5

My Husband and i went to this concert in which i gave to him for Christmas and we enjoyed it so much, we hope that many more ole school Artists will pass the paton. I purchased tickets on the floor to be up close and personal but i couldn't stay in my seat, because the spirit of the Music was captivating me so much, and there was an older couple that sat behind us kept tapping my husband shoulder asking me to sit down so with respect i told my husband that i can''t help it and i didn't spend this kind of money to stay seated this isn't an Opera, people came to enjoy and where they do that at. Sorry, but i am a baby Boomer by Heart and we are the Best of the Best ERA left. Thanks Mrs. Ross

  • 70s Soul Jam

by DelorisT on 1/12/15Kravis Center - West Palm BeachRating: 4 out of 5

The Stylistics were great. They should be the headliners. We missed some of Cuba Gooding but enjoyed the part we did see. The Spinners were mediocre.

    by Alvino35 on 1/12/15Florida Theatre Jacksonville - JacksonvilleRating: 4 out of 5

The Soul Jam was just that. The the New Stylistics sang all of thier great hits and the Spinners put on a great show, both complementet by J.J. Walker as Host.

  • Surprised

by Sponkylady on 1/11/15Florida Theatre Jacksonville - JacksonvilleRating: 3 out of 5

I was very disappointed in Cuba Gooding Sr. he came out naming all of these songs sang by the Main Ingredient and sang 2 songs and 1/2 of another song and talked through 1/2 of it, Then he left the stage, actually he did some more talking first..totally wasted my time and money. The spinners were just ok. At least they did sing many of the Spinner songs. The highlight of the night was the Stylistics. If it weren't for them, I woul have been very disappointed. When you spend almost $100 for tickets, I expectyto get a little more.

  • Enjoyable

    by Allen201 on 1/11/15Florida Theatre Jacksonville - JacksonvilleRating: 4 out of 5

Enjoyable evening. JJ was entertaining, Cuba was not up to par and needs the main ingredient with him (no solo act). The Spinners cut their normal set back (did not do working my way back or Cupid, and did not allow the band to play it's usual very enjoyable intro set). I love the Spinners, but this was not the best performance tonight. Ronnie Moss was right on however. The Stylistics were excellent. I am a true Russell Thompkins fan, but I must say that Eban Brown threw down and the group's vocals and steps were fantastic. They were the stars of the night.

  • The show was amazing!!!

I originally bought tickets for the show for my mother as a Christmas present. My mother had a chance to see the Sytlistics in 1971 but missed the show . This was such a treat. Everyone was wonderful. From jimmy "JJ" Walker as the MC to the Spinners. My 20 something daughter was even up dancing.

  • PHENOMENAL SHOW!!!!!

by VElizabeth on 1/11/15Florida Theatre Jacksonville - JacksonvilleRating: 5 out of 5

The show was excellent and brought back so many wonderful memories from the 70's. We had great music back then. Cuba Gooding Sr represented the Main Ingredient very well; The Mighty Spinners and The Stylistics were absolutely awesome. A must see show! JJ Walker was a great host and very funny. I absolutely loved the show.

Jacksonville need to allow black events to go pass 11:00 pm, since there was a event the next night at another city own place that went pass 12:00 am, with a white line up.

The sound quality was very poor. Too loud to be understood. The playlist of both groups was poorly chosen

  • Great show

by biggerdog on 1/11/15Florida Theatre Jacksonville - JacksonvilleRating: 4 out of 5

JJ Walker was the MC for the event. His comedy routines were hilarious. He was great. He was also available after the show to sign autographs and to meet and greet. He was very engaging and personable. He is an awesome comedian and a great guy. Cuba Gooding, Sr. was the first musical act. He is a great entertainer, He sang a nice intro and both of the Main Ingredient's hits. His voice was in good form. He was available after the show to meet and greet, and to sign autographs. He was very friendly and engaging. He was my favorite. The Stylistics performed next after another JJ Walker bit. They stole the show. They sounded just like their recordings. They performed all their hits. Their dance moves were awesome. Three of the originals remain. It was worth going to the show just to see these guys. After another JJ Walker bit, the Spinners (who now call themselves The Mighty Spinners on Facebook) came on stage. Only one of the originals remains. These are 5 very talented guys, and their performance was energetic and inspired. Their dance routines were great. They all have great vocal skills. The songs did not quite ring true to the recordings, but they were still really good. This is something you see at shows featuring classic groups who only have one or none of the original members remaining. Overall, the show was great. JJ Walker did a fantastic job as MC. The Stylistics sounded just as good as they did 40+ years ago. Cuba Gooding, Sr. was awesome. The Spinners (aka The Mighty Spinners) did a great job. If you are a fan of 70s music (pre disco) and this show comes to your town, you need to see this show!

The Stylistics were great (4 stars) they made the show. The Manhattans were terrible they brought the show down to my 2 star rating.
