Always a pleasure to honor the old school, brought back some memories of a time when people took pride in their behavior and appearance. The music was fantastic!!!

4 acts...all with great stage performances.... insufficient stage time for the first three acts

  • oooooh those Stylistics!

by countrypreacher on 2/17/15Beacon Theatre - New YorkRating: 5 out of 5

Wonderful concert -- brought back many wonderful memories. The Stylistics were by far the best part of the show and well worth staying for.

  • The Stylistics were the best!

    by Cricket14 on 2/17/15Beacon Theatre - New YorkRating: 2 out of 5

Regretfully I was very disappointed with the show. The introduction to the first group was not very clear, The Manhattans. I didn't even know it was them because none of the songs they sang were any hits. The Delfonics were a travesty, how is someone singing going to come out and say that they are tired. He couldn't even sing. If groups sell their rights to their hit songs and plan on doing a show and doing other songs than their hits , then there shouldn't be a show. I won't buy tickets for this again.

  • underwhelmed

by chucklefree on 2/17/15Beacon Theatre - New YorkRating: 3 out of 5

On a scale of 1-10,The Stylistics were a 10. All the other groups combined score did not equal a 10. However, of all the lesser talents the Dramatics, Delphonics and Blue Magic were barely ok while the Manhattans were horrible.

  • 70's Soul Jam

by GayleStallings on 2/17/15Beacon Theatre - New YorkRating: 5 out of 5

We got there early and it was already crowded. The age group was 50 years and up making it more enjoyable because we all knew what we were doing in the 70's and if not the show was going to be a great reminder. I loved the Stylistics! I loved every performance actually! Great Night.

it was a excellent concert I loved every minute of it I was up dancing when the stylistics came on my favorite group.

  • Dramatics were great!!

    by bookclub45 on 2/17/15Beacon Theatre - New YorkRating: 3 out of 5

The show overall was good. The music brought back some good memories..The Delfonics were disappointing though. The lead singer was off key and it didn't ge better. Another disappoining factor was that Russell Thompkins Jr was not there. Althouh the guy who took his place was good, it wasn't the same.

  • The Stylistics Should Have Been The Closing Act!!!

by Kimton on 1/15/15USF Sun Dome - TampaRating: 4 out of 5

Overall, very nice concert. Cuba Gooding, Sr. still has his voice and brought passion to the stage. The Spinners were great, but neglected to sing "how could I let you get away", my favorite. The Stylistics were by far the best, and in my opnion, should have closed out the show. The band was phenomenal and their voices were hitting all the right chords!

  • Stylistically stole the show

    by readytorelax55 on 1/14/15USF Sun Dome - TampaRating: 4 out of 5

There was an echoing in the room making listening hard ,but when the stylistics took the stage, somehow or other, there was no distracting echo. It was like they sound on recod. Amazing,

  • 55 and over will enjoy

    by Midnightworker5589 on 1/14/15USF Sun Dome - TampaRating: 4 out of 5

I and my Lady, very much enjoyed the show. Having attended their live appearances, in their prime, it was good to see the music going on. Did not enjoy security allowing people to run down the aisles, and stand in front of the stage dancing, blocking my view was not cool. But we had a nice night.

  • Stylistics were AWESOME!!

    by Florida59 on 1/14/15USF Sun Dome - TampaRating: 4 out of 5

I give the Stylistics 5 stars; Cuba Gooding Senior 3, and the Spinners 4. So I gave the overall concert 4 stars. It was great to go to a concert were the entertainers actually entertained and put on a show. Not relaying on big screens and a bunch of distractions. The sound system at USF Sun Dome could use some improvement.

  • The Stylistics were smooth, polished

by SEGV on 1/13/15USF Sun Dome - TampaRating: 5 out of 5

Although I enjoyed the entire show, The Stylistics brought back so many memories-good and not so good. But I realize now that it took all of that to happen to get me to the good place I am at this time.

  • 70's Soul Jam Delivers-Brings Back R&B Classics

by swfljim on 1/13/15USF Sun Dome - TampaRating: 5 out of 5

The Stylistics & Spinners-The golden years for the R&B male groups and the Philly sound return in top form. Although many of the original members of both groups have passed on, the "new" voices provide for an entertaining evening and a peak back at what was perhaps the greatest decade in R&B. A few originals are still around (Henry Fambrough of the Spinners for example). The songs haven't changed and it's great to attend an event where most of the audience knows the lyrics and can sing along. I had never seen Cuba Gooding Sr. perform, but he sounds great and still has a great voice. The best part of these "oldies" shows is that the performers have no ego. If they were part of the original group, they have tasted plenty of fame and now they all show a great deal of appreciation towards their long-time fans. Jimmy "J.J." Walker made for a great M.C. and delivered several very funny jokes and kept the evening moving.

  • Soul Jam

by anthany on 1/13/15USF Sun Dome - TampaRating: 5 out of 5

JJ Walker was hillarious and did a great job as MC. I can"t believe how great the Spinners and the Stylistics as well as Cuba Gooding Sr were in this concert. REAL MUSIC. People from Tampa area who did not go really missed a GREAT concert. Thanks for keeping this music alive. We came from Ft. Myers FL.

  • Entertainment great - Sound Sucked!

by Silversyn on 1/13/15USF Sun Dome - TampaRating: 3 out of 5

My husband and I really enjoyed the concert. The entertainment was really good and the music brought back fond memories. There was also a polite crowd. Unfortunately, there was something wrong with the sound system and we had difficulty catching most of Jimmy Walker (JJs) jokes. The ones we heard were very funny. I can't believe that someone didn't realize the sound was so bad. All in all, a very enjoyable eventing.

  • 70s Soul Jam with The Spinners, The Stylistics,

  • STYLISTICS WERE FANTASTIC!

by mialacey on 1/13/15USF Sun Dome - TampaRating: 4 out of 5

The 70,s Jam was eventful, was surprised that the seats were not filled. We went with our best friends, we were on the floor, 6 rows from the front-great seats! The Stylistics were awesome-they stole the show! JJ Walker was so funny, he was really good, Cuba Goodin was good, he sounded pretty good. The Spinners were awful, they looked and sounded like amateurs, each doing their own thing, not singing or blending together at all! I am so glad the Stylistics were on before them, we walked out when the Spinners were performing (there were a lot of other people doing the same.) They do not deserve to call themselves the Spinners, the originals can never be duplicated! I have followed the Stylistics for years, they were so good-so professional! I hope they come back to Tampa again-without the Spinners!
