I'm only 33 and I've never been to an oldies concert but after the 70's soul concert I def look forward to go to more oldies but goodies concerts. I'm glad my mother invited me to go.

I've attended these shows for a couple of years. It's an excellent choice for "us old-heads/baby boomers". Although, the show was good, it seemed a little disorganized during stage changes. Didn't care for the MC continuously "shouting out" celebrities in the audience who were probably just trying to enjoy the show themselves. Also, didn't care for the stunt where he offered and did reimburse an audience member for ticket costs. This person was sitting in Orchestra section, so they could afford these seats. Next time he should try announcing a seat-number(s) and reimburse that person. It would go over better. Also didn't care for him dragging his spouse out to meet the celebrities. A backstage meet & greet should have been arranged instead. I know this was "filler" for stage changes but it was inappropriate. Would also have liked to see more of Blue Magic and less of the Dramatics, also I did enjoy them.

  • 70's Soul Spectacular

The best concert I have been to in awhile. Blue Magic never disappoints and the Manhattans and Delfonics still have it. The highlight of the show would have to be the Dramatics and the Silky Soulful Stylistics. LJ Reynolds of the Dramatics have one of the most fantastic voices and his version of Marvin Gaye's "Come Get To This" is one of the best remakes made. The Stylistics are untoppable and unstoppable. Their entire show is so well put together it feels as though these guys have not even aged. Their sound is still phenomenal and they give a show well worth the price of your ticket. Altogether, a totally awesome night.....

The Dramatics & Stylistics were the ONLY groups who were a pleasure to hear & watch. All of the other groups need to take heed of these two groups performances. Also for the ticket cost, there should have been a better show & seating should have been closer to the stage. Seemed as though it was just thrown together. The Host was even TERRIBLE!!!!

  • The 70's Still SAound Good

The show was all that it was billed to be. With the exception of the Delfonics, a group that I really wanted to see, the show produced as promised.

Seeing those guys perform really made my Valentine's Day great!. I first saw them perform at the Apollo during the Wednesday rehearsal that the public was allowed to watch. I was around 8 years old and didn't quite understand love songs but knew something amazing was occurring. Now as an adult, I know and love every song from each group. I will continue to attend every 70's Soul Jam. I raved so much about the groups that my 25 year old daughter wants to attend. However the host left much to be desired, I was unfamiliar with him and was not pleased with his hosting skills. :(

The show was awesome, it brought back great childhood memories. The crowd behaved very mature even with celebrities being announced during and after each act.

  • Great Show

    by Dikah25 on 2/17/15Beacon Theatre - New YorkRating: 5 out of 5

We went to 3 PM Show and enjoyed It immensely! Even though Gerald Alston just past away The Manhattan were great! I always love the Blue Magic a very polished group and the songs sound just as good now as they did when they first recorded them. The Delfonics, this group needs to find a new lead singer. William Hart cannot hit the high notes as like he did 30 years ago. For the money that we paid it is expected for all the acts to perform and sound good. The Dramatics was a totally a surprise and had a great array of songs that they sang. No one can top the Stylistics. They always give a superb show and a long show. We always look forward to their routine when they sing "Hurry Up This Way"

  • Stylistics were the SHOW !!!!

The 70s Soul Jam was awesome. I'm still talking about it at work. The Dramatics featuring L. J. Reynolds was the best surprise for me. I Love L. J. Reynolds. I have all of his music including the CDs Get To This and Tell Me You Will. They were fantastic. The Stylistics sang just as they did in the 70's. They are naturals. Great work. Hope to see them again.

  • Teen in the 70's WOW!!!

    by jsumcrn1st on 2/17/15Beacon Theatre - New YorkRating: 5 out of 5

The concert was phenomenal. Hearing the songs from my heyday brought a lot of memories. Some good and some bad. All part of growing up though. I have to say though the Delfonics were a disappointment. They were one of the main groups when I was young and hearing them butcher some classic music was sickening. The Sylistics. All I can say is OMG! I wish the other groups could have sang a few more songs.
