    BRAVO

by NHRASTA on 9/25/18Lynn Auditorium - Lynn

The production was extremely well done! I have been a fan since the early 80's and saw Prince live in Maine in the 80's. The show captured his essence and brilliance but also catered to a perhaps less informed fan. We were moved by the music and also by the other fans as we all looked at each other--smiling and touching as we shared our amazement and feeling of Prince being right there with us. We got to meet the Conductor and Bass player and they were so humble and gracious. I wonder if the realize the history (and gift) they are making and involved in. This should be an annual event!! LONG LIVE PRINCE

4u: A Symphonic Celebration Of Prince

by IBQUIK on 9/25/18Lynn Auditorium - Lynn

I want to give a shout out to Quest love who did an amazing job selecting the music, video and pictures that were displayed correlating to the music. It was very emotional, eyes welled up a number of times, especially for the 1st half. The second was more "LETS PARTY LIKE ITS 1999" Would highly recommend to any Prince Fam and a nice way to introduce Prince to a newbie. The entire orchestra was fantastic, but the female violinist was amazing. Don't miss this if it comes to your area. A MUST SEE

4U Symphonic tribute to Prince / Lynn Auditorium.

    by BDC1121 on 9/25/18Lynn Auditorium - Lynn

Prior to show day I decided not to research the show on YouTube or look for reviews. Being huge fan of Prince I didn’t know what to expect. I was lucky enough to see Prince twice so my expectations were high due to this being sanctioned by the Estate. Let’s just say if you are a fan of Prince you will want to see this tribute. I was afraid it was going to be cheesy or just a fly by show as a money grab. Not the case. It was so wonderfully put together that I was in awe. Sound lights and vibe were all great. The crowd was excited and it was a party. The song selections were god. Some obscure lots of hits. I won’t mention any so as not to ruin it for someone else. Video and stills on the screen had me thinking back and realizing just how much I loved His music and what a loss it is to not have Prince still here. I was wowed. I smiled and shed a tear. The musicians were great. The female violinist in fron was something to watch as well. She got the crowd into it on some of the choruses. There are no “vocals” as the orchestra and band has that covered. We were singing along People got up and danced. For me it was just a great time. I went solo so I immersed myself into the zone. In closing. Go see this.

There we're far too many string instruments for a legitimate symphonic orchestra. The first half of the show was slow and boring and sounded very similar with the song that they played. The second half of the show is much better but still not recommended at all

Listening to muzac in elevator would be a step up!

by BadMuzac on 9/25/18Lynn Auditorium - Lynn

My spouse and I were excited to see this show. We had front row seats dead center! Wonderful meal before the show and expectations for a great show. Prince's music has an unique funk and dynamism a well scored orchestration should be able to capture and deliver. Not this orchestra and not this scoring. All funk and dynamism was stripped from Prince's material. Everything was bland, mediocre and sounded like bad elevator muzac. Even the multimedia show projected on the backing screens was poorly done. While song A would be playing they media would show Prince's hand written lyrics from song B. While playing song C they would show the [music] video from song D. Not even the effort to coordinate the presentation! Spouse and I walked out before intermission and regretted the time we had spend waiting for the show to find its stride. I expect Prince is turning in his grave. Awful experience.

    Great & Interesting Performance

by Buddyroo66 on 9/22/18Springfield Symphony Hall - Springfield

The Springfield Symphony did a great job with performing a wide variety of Prince material. I was out of my seat dancing most of the night. I loved the screens showing all the olf photos & videos. It was just something really different & fun. I hope they do more popular music, as I'll be at ever one!

Showcased the musical richness of Prince

by Coreyann on 9/21/18Springfield Symphony Hall - Springfield

A wonderful show which highlighted his hits and compositions. Felt even more connected to Prince through the videos and displays of his handwritten lyrics.

    4U was meh

by Glitchety on 9/21/18Springfield Symphony Hall - Springfield

2nd set better than the first, with more hits. Very tinny. Orchestration could have been better, didnt need electric bass or conventional drum kit. Orchestra looked like it was struggling at one point, whether to keep uo with the rhythm section or even in appreciating Prince's oevre.

    4U: A Symphonic Celebration of Prince...excellent!

by BeagleChick1 on 9/20/18U.S. Cellular Center Asheville - Asheville

Questlove managed to pull off an amazing symphonic translation of Prince's vast musical styles throughout his career. People had tears in their eyes, they danced and sang to this beautiful presentation of his music. I think the production would have been better in the Thomas Wolfe Auditorium. It is more intimate and the sound would have been much better for the musicians. If you get a chance to see this performance, you will leave with a smile on your face and Prince's songs in your heart!

    Amazing Prince Tribute

by Bethelbelle on 9/17/18U.S. Cellular Center Asheville - Asheville

This is an excellent symphony of some of Prince's greatest songs. Beautiful video of the artist accompany the performance. Full energy with singing and dancing and audience participation not found at the symphony.

    Horrible

by GigiBebe on 9/17/18U.S. Cellular Center Asheville - Asheville

This tawdry production disgraced Prince’s music and life. It is a shameful grab for money. We left at intermission. If you want to celebrate Prince, listen to his recordings. If you want to have your senses blasted by terrible arrangements and cheap lights and whoop and holler with people who think of his music only as shallow party good time music, then you might like it.

    Truly emotional.

by Robsbear on 9/17/18U.S. Cellular Center Asheville - Asheville

The orchestra was incredible. It was easy to feel that many of the musicians were quite passionate about the music being presented. I would have liked to have been offered a program so thst I could have learned the names off the principals involved; conductor and first violin, for instance. I did notice a typo on the multimedia screen. Raspberry in Raspberry Beret was spelled Rasperry. All in all, I so glad we attended, Prince, I think, would have liked it. Are there CD's for sale?

    4U is amazing!!

by PJJK4 on 9/17/18U.S. Cellular Center Asheville - Asheville

I was blown away with this amazing show! I didn’t want it to end. It was a beautiful tribute to Prince if you are familiar with his music but if you are not you will LOVE the electricity of the amazing symphony. My 14 year old loved it just as much as I did. It’s not to be missed!!
