Rating: 3 out of 5Terrible sound
by Art L on 12/12/21Byline Bank Aragon Ballroom - ChicagoLots of vendors is a giant plus. Probably a dozen of spots with drinks and I saw pizza stand and probably there was something else but I didn't pay attention.
All three bands were great with, of course, Evanescence being a cherry on top.
The interior is quite unusual and interesting. A perfect set for some theatrical performance. But not for an instrumental concert, I guess...
And so here is a part about the sound:
The sound was soo terrible that I felt bad for the bands that actually did their best but all their efforts were crushed by a completely off sounding system. Highs were so high that they were barely noticeable and performers voices sounded as if only tweeters were on without mid and bass. Guitars were washed out to such an extent, that only guitar solos were somewhat ok to listen to.
For some reason all three bands performed that night had overwhelming presence of drums and only drums. Lots of bass lots of volume. The bass/drums were super loud and filled entire place killing efforts of guitarists and singers.
Will I come again to Aragon for a concert?
