100 gecs, the duo Laura Les and Dylan Brady, planted their flag on the proverbial pop culture moon with the release of the 2019 debut album 1,000 gecs. The innovative album captivated online fan forums and music literati alike with The New York Times calling it, "some of the savviest pop music of the year," and Rolling Stone dubbing it "one of 2019's most exciting debuts." The years that followed saw the St. Louis natives go from unlikely SoundCloud cult heroes to show-stopping wizard-cloaked pied pipers, covering magazines and selling out concerts across the globe. With the arrival of their long awaited sophomore album, 10,000 gecs, in March 2023, 100 gecs appear yet again to be two steps ahead of the curve on the ever-molting pop music landscape. Vulture praised the "intangible and ineffable" sound of the album calling it "high concept pop" and fittingly Pitchfork called it "a perfect outro album for the end of the world" while dubbing it 'Best New Music' in their review. Equipped with stadium-sized anthems like "Dumbest Girl Alive" and "Hollywood Baby" the 10x sized album is road-ready as the band ventures out on their 10,000 gecs world tour.
The Aragon is too hot for how much I paid, music was pretty good
Gecs were hilarious and so fun. The energy was really high the whole time so definitely don't over exert yourself. Absolutely worth the money to go see
Legitimately might be my favorite concert. Laura Less and Dylan Brady have an undeniable stage presence. The setlist was great, and Machine Girl was a fantastic opener! Just from start to finish a great show. And a merry Gec 2 Ü
There isn’t much to say other than this concert was incredible in a multitude of ways. The band(s) were amazing, the venue was very professional and clean, and the crowd was very respectful(even during the mosh pits). I would gladly go to another Gec concert in the future.
Excellent music that seemed even more vibrant in person. Good venue layout a the Armory. I would see the band again when they go on tour next. There was some strong suggestion of hopscotch if they make a return visit. I am going to start practicing now.
Bass loud enough to shake your sternum, haven't been hearing right out of my right eat for the last 3 days. Machine Girl started their set ~15mins earlier than expected which caught me by suprise. Awesome show. 100 Gecs had a really good set- crowd went crazy for Hollywood Baby and Money Machine.
The venue was easy to find, park, and navigate inside, sound was mixed well, the crowd was awesome, full of beautiful ppl dressed up in the coolest outfits, 10/10 would hang w basically all of them, opener was someone I'd never heard of but they were great, added into my rotation. 100 gecs was brilliant, of course - my 2nd time seeing them live. Show wasn't as long as i'd've liked but that's probably a good sign! Lol Left wanting more. Mosh pit was chaotic and intense but a blast and still respectful. Had an overall great time
First off, Machine Girl was amazing, easily in my top 5. Really a shame that they only got a 30 minute set. 100 gecs however was pretty meh. They’re good for about 5 songs then they kinda just drone on and on with very mediocre music and very little stage presence. Wasn’t really my thing but a lot of people around me were enjoying them so 2/5 was just barely worth.
The concert and THE CROWD were amazing. The venue was the perfect size and set up for the show. I am not a huge hyperpop fan, however, 100 gecs was a ton of fun, even for a 50-year old (me!).
amazing. lost my voice and my roommate, but an absolute amazing time
First time seeing them, crowd was huge and full of energy, and they kept it going. Venue had amazing sound, and it wasn’t earsplitting like most venues. I hope they do more shows in wisconsin!
this is the second time i have seen 100 gecs and they always put on an amazing show. yeah it was a little behind but that was only because of the tornado. this concert, if you haven’t started already, i recommend you begin to wear earplugs as this is a loud concert with a lot of bass. overall however, a great show!
Incredible 100 gecs set with old gems and new favorites. Their stage presence is kind of adorable (?) and the crowd energy was just unreal. I've never gone so hard in my life as I did for machin3gir1, they are a MUST see if you like to get crazy sweaty in the pit. Next time either of these groups come around you can bet I'll be there! Also worth noting that The Sylvee is a nice, clean venue with friendly and quick staff.
Best show I've ever seen, nothing will be the same. I will never experience this amount of joy and happiness for as long as i live. Gecs ruined my life.
100 gecs is perfect when you want loud, chaotic, and energetic jams. Laura and Dylan bring great energy, and work their way through fan favorites without any issues. Machine Girl was a perfect opener as well. I recommend seeing them both if you can.
This show blew my freaking face off. I love 100 gecs
couldn't enjoy the show because my ex was there. she said she didn't want to see me as i go the last of my stuff but made every effort to rub her new life in my face. glad she's happy but why she do that? nah i know why and i deserved it. anyway great performance but i couldn't enjoy it.
history makers! back once again! if you like the music, you'll love the show. a live performance curated for MOVERS! if you don't like shoving, jumping, moshing, and generally flailing your entire physical flesh prison all about the dancefloor, you are more likely to enjoy the experience that is offered from a distance or from balcony seats. if you like those things mentioned, this show is to LIVE for! always great openers selected for their shows and always people ready to mosh to their music. a more personal testimony<3 i've watched them open for brockhampton with jpeg mafia, deb never, domicic fike, and skrillex, to watching them tour with slowtai for brockhampton, to them headlining their own tour and having their own openers like cali cartier, tony velour, alice gas and underscores! WHAT MORE COULD YOU WANT?! a second 10,000 gecs tour with MACHINEGIRL!??! well, you got it! last night was my 9th time seeing them perform live. the kicked off the tour in san jose, ca and the energy was high, the sweat was in the air, and huge speakers were blasting the highlights and favorite moments of their musical catalog. not to mention seeing the now FULLY living and breathing 10,000 gecs album live for the fist time ever! looking forward to the rest of the california shows! omg what a night, if you're reading this and thinking about it, go. seriously, just do it.
This concert was one of the most fun concerts I've ever been to, HIGHLY recommend going. The live songs were way better than any of the recordings, the people are nice, and the venue wasn't as packed and sweaty as I expected. If you can go see gecs you have to go. 10/10
Saw them at gov ball, best performance there. The energy of the crowd made the experience so good. Laura is hysterical and Dylan is so cool. Genuinely one of the best things I’ve experienced.
