    Fantastic

by Skip on 11/10/21The Vogel at Count Basie Center for the Arts - Red Bank

Great performance, every number was well arranged and Mary does an excellent job as lead singer. Only wish would have been slightly stronger harmonies.

The sound of silence vs. pitch

by Nostalgic girl on 11/9/21The Vogel at Count Basie Center for the Arts - Red Bank

I am 100% alternative girl from the 80’s. Siousxie, the cure, dm, Howard Jones, xtc... definitely 10,000 maniacs along with others. The sound was incredible, Natalies voice hasn’t wavered but I was so disappointed in the energy. No greeting of the audience really, no stories to be told about how the songs came about, no dialog per se with the crowd which in the intimate setting these days I crave. We have a saying in our home, “phone it in”. Meaning the bodies were only present not the mind. I totally felt like the band “phoned it in”. I remember the days of Lilith Fair and the energy in the big venues, miss that but I love the intimate shows because I learn about artists as individuals as they reminisce about the past. None of that happened here. BUT THE SOUND WAS ON POINT AND 100% there! Sorry for the harsh words.

    The band was great!

by C. G. on 11/8/21The Vogel at Count Basie Center for the Arts - Red Bank

The band played all your favorites plus a few added bonuses. It was the perfect venue as well. We had a great night.

You missed a very entertaining performance by the "Maniacs". Good to see them out on the road.

    Awesome

by Dawn on 10/7/19Cannery Hotel and Casino - Las Vegas

Even though Mary was having vocal issues, the show was awesome! Her backup vocalist did an excellent job of assisting her through the voice losses she was experiencing.

The 10,000 Maniacs put on a great show, and their guitarist is especially good.

    4 in 4

by Richard on 2/25/19Birchmere - Alexandria

I saw 10,000 Maniacs perform 4 times in 4 nights as I allowed friends to attend shows with me and I slept at their houses. Basically it was a dream come true. The first show in Richmond I managed to attend the sound check. The shows the band is playing music. In the sound check they are working to be sure when the play they sound as good as they can (given the venue and sound system). The first show found Jeff the lead gutair player sick. Turns out that was the best I have ever seen him play. Being sick he was focusing all his effort on getting through the song. It worked!!! Jeff is always good and brings so much to ever song the band plays but Wednesday night he was outstanding even for Jeff. Jerry, the drummer, was totally execlent as he always is. The played 2 shows in Richmond and his nephew was able to attend the Wednesday show with his sister attending the Thursday show. Jerry doesn’t get a chance see his sister very often so I felt there was a bit of extra spark in his playing. Though Jerry always play to such a high level. The Friday show at the Birchmere was Friday. The crowd was bigger and the sound system was noticeable better. Where the sound was good in Richmond the sound was GREAT at the Birchmere. The band did switch up the set lists a little. But there is something about 10,000 Maniacs live which is so much BIGER than the CDs. The set list was a perfect mix playing most of the hits and a few later songs which in a fair world would be hits along with a couple of songs you won’t hear on any CDs. These songs help fill out the range of talent the band has especially Mary, lead singer and viola player. One thing that I really enjoy about these shows is that the band members come out after the show to talk with the fans. It takes a while for the stage to be packed up and the band members take advantage of that. The fourth show was at a “Performance Center” near Baltimore. Same number of seats at the Birchmere but the stage was much bigger and there was a wood dance floor between the seats and the band. The sound here was very BIG and very clean. I prefer the closeness of the Birchmere but I loved the sound at this theater. The fourth show was anything but phoned in with parts that exceeded the othe shows. In my mind I blend all the best from each of the shows and this is the BEST I have ever heard 10,000 Maniacs perform. I have seen them perform at least 50 times (likely closer to 100 times in past 35 years and the band gets better and better with every year!!!!

    Opening act was incredible!

by NeedTicketsNow on 10/16/18Marquee Theatre - Tempe

10,000 Maniacs were amazing and didn’t disappoint as usual, but we were surprised to see the incredible opening act CHAD RUBIN MUSIC, which was equally amazing!! Great show all around! Can’t wait to see both acts again!

    Concert was awesome!!

by xbox12 on 9/10/18Seneca Niagara Resort & Casino Bears Den - Niagara Falls

We had a great time at the concert! The venue was easy to find and parking was great. 10000 always put on a great concert. The venue is small so it is up close and personal. Would definitely attend another event at this location.

    Charismatic performance!

by JimReeves on 5/30/18Birchmere - Alexandria

Although I was disappointed that Natalie Merchant is no longer with the band, I was pleasantly surprised by the talent of the singers & wonderful musicians. I had a great time at the charismatic performance.

    10,000 Maniacs

by Maniacma on 4/29/18Ponte Vedra Concert Hall - Ponte Vedra Beach

LOVED all the songs they sang! And although I am a Natalie Merchant fan I thought Mary did a good job. However, when you want to sing along and the tempo of the song has been adjusted it sort of just ruins the experience...

    Good show overall.

by SonOfGillean on 4/29/18Ponte Vedra Concert Hall - Ponte Vedra Beach

Band started late. Played for a little over an hour. Not enough of their signature songs. Not bad, though.

    Still 10000 Maniacs

by Coastalkathy on 4/28/18Ponte Vedra Concert Hall - Ponte Vedra Beach

From the first note and tilt of Mary Ramsey’s head it was clear to the sold out Ponte Vedra Concert Hall patrons that we were in for an incredible night of jangling , deadesque guitar , poetic , cherished lyrics and a room full of smiles. The 10,000 Maniacs are as I remembered;thoughtful, musical, talented and brought a night of joy. Particular highlights were covers of Roxy Music and Patti Smith. Another was Candy Everybody Wants. Ponte Vedra Concert Hall continues to impress and someone there knows how to run sound. So fortunate to have this venue in my town.Still, these are days.

10,000 Maniacs just as great as 30 years ago!

    by JaneMScott1 on 5/7/17Birchmere - Alexandria

They were fantastic! They played all the hits from 30 yeas ago which was really awesome and exactly why I wanted to see them. Also really involved with the fans and afterwards were very kind taking photos and signing autographs in the lounge area of The Birchmere!
