About

TIM RICE and ANDREW LLOYD WEBBER's Tony Award®-winning musical returns at last!
Eva Perón used her beauty and charisma to rise meteorically from the slums of Argentina to the presidential mansion as First Lady. Adored by her people as a champion for the poor, she became one of the most powerful women in the world — while her greed, outsized ambition and fragile health made her one of the most tragic. EVITA tells Eva's passionate and unforgettable true story, and features some of theater's most beautiful songs, including "Don't Cry for Me Argentina," "Another Suitcase in Another Hall" and "High Flying, Adored."  Don't miss the stunning new production of EVITA, directed by MICHAEL GRANDAGE and choreographed by ROB ASHFORD, that Channel 4 New York calls “THE HOTTEST TICKET IN TOWN!”

    Solid revival

by DPACFan2014 on 3/14/14DPAC - Durham Performing Arts Center - Durham

Top-notch cast. Caroline Bowman as Eva was stunningly good. Hit every note in this demanding role. Also, I was pleasantly surprised that this version included You Must Love Me, which seemed to fit in well. The cast, while all very talented, was relatively small -- so the "crowd" scenes looked kind of thin. I know it was a touring show, but it seemed like the ensemble should have been expanded with more cast members. Again, that is not to detract from the talented cast -- they did an amazing job with many filling alternate roles throughout the show.

This was hands down the best performance I have seen at the DPAC. The cast was amazing. I would go again and again!

Evita is one of my favorite musicals and I was so excited about seeing it at ASU! I went with my boyfriend and my parents and we were all very happy with the performance! Definitely worth checking out! Viva Argentina!

Dance productions seemed bland. Not very Latin feeling. Each production seemed the same as the other.

My wife and I thought it was a good musical, but the movie was a lot better.

    Evita was amazing!

by Monwood on 2/12/14Uihlein Hall Marcus Center - Milwaukee

Evita was amazing! The cast was a superb ensemble who provided a high quality performance. The set and lighting design were incredible and perfectly complimented the superb story. And, of course, the score was exquisite. Simply amazing.

Evita was soulful, but well put together

by spin2knit on 2/11/14Uihlein Hall Marcus Center - Milwaukee

I enjoyed the evocative music of Evita. The dancing was lively and costumes were attractive. I think given the storyline it was a show well done. The dance routines were unusual and costumes changes for Eva innovative.

    Great Show

by buenosaires on 2/11/14Uihlein Hall Marcus Center - Milwaukee

Being born in Argentina experiencing watching the actual footage sitting next to my mother who was in there at the age of 14 was very emotional. Being my third Evita show; fabulous singing. Dancing understandably 'tango', not that great. Stage, the best thus far. Appetizers served; less to be desired. Empanadas never served with sour cream and cilantro in Argentina, not very traditional. A great crepe that would have been more suitable would have been served filled with delicious dulce de leche topped with whipping cream. Simple, delicious and very traditional.....

    Evita is recommended

by Peacechex on 2/11/14Uihlein Hall Marcus Center - Milwaukee

The sound being a bit "off" at the very beginning was cause for concern, but that was quickly remedied and the show went on without any noticeable issues. The acting was superb, and really brought Evita, Che, and Peron to life. Really enjoyed it.

    Soft

Couldn't hear. "Evita" was too weak, as was Perone.. (Too soft). Theater was a little cold.

    Evita entertaining

by Printserv on 2/11/14Uihlein Hall Marcus Center - Milwaukee

I enjoyed the show; however, I was disappointed that the understudy was playing the part of Eva Peron. I think that we should be told this before buying tickets. It was printed in the program so it is known ahead of time..

Good show except for sound quality.

by DavL on 2/10/14Uihlein Hall Marcus Center - Milwaukee

Good vocals. Good lighting and staging, especially production numbers. Sound quality was poor: loud at times; muffled; over-crowed by music, percussion, and stomping on stage.

    Excellent!!!

by WatcherA on 2/10/14Uihlein Hall Marcus Center - Milwaukee

Although this is not my favorite Weber production, I will definitely remember this! The production was seamless! The actors, top notch! The orchestra was perfect, with a good balance of sound between them and the performers.

    Music was amazing

Enjoyed all of the music and acting. Only problem was hearing what they were saying at time, from balcony seating.

Was it bad direction or bad singing?

    by Mus1calFan on 2/6/14Orpheum Theatre - Minneapolis

Most females singer sounded like they were screaming through their singing. The main star who played Evita was the worst, Caroline. We had an userstudy for Che's part which was sad because we were excited to see a Tony nominee. The males did a better job overall then the females. I feel it was poor directing that led to my dislike of this over other musicals. Also could not stand the wigs, they were horrible!
