Willie Nelson is one of the most successful country music singer-songwriters in history, releasing 68 studio albums and 10 live albums. He wrote his first song at the age of seven and joined his first band at ten, playing concerts as a lead singer and guitar player while still in high school. He spent the ‘50s and ‘60s writing songs for established acts such as Ray Price and Patsy Cline, as well as releasing a string of albums on Liberty and RCA beginning with his debut …And Then I Wrote in 1962. In 1973, he signed to Atlantic Records and put out Shotgun Willie, which veered into outlaw country, a stark contrast from the mainstream Nashville sound and clean-cut country artists of the era. 1975’s Red Headed Stranger and 1978’s Stardust followed on Columbia Records, both garnering commercial and critical success. The ‘80s saw the release of No. 1 albums Honeysuckle Rose, Somewhere Over The Rainbow, Always on My Mind, and The Promiseland, as well as Nelson joining Johnny Cash, Waylon Jennings, and Kris Kristofferson in the country supergroup The Highwaymen, touring and releasing three studio albums between 1985 and 1995. Nelson continues to release a new album almost every year and delight ticket buyers in live shows to this day.

Wonderful. Enjoyed this concert more than any I’ve seen in a long time. He is the best, may be a little slow in some ways, but a powerful voice still and a great sense of humor. I loved it and will remember for a long time to come.
Willie may be 90, but he still put on a very good show after 70 years of performing. He performed with his son and his accompanying band. He can't hit everything he used to, and missed a few notes on the guitar, but because of his style, he made it work well. It was super entertaining. Side note... his harmonica player was incredible. The opening act, Amos Lee, was disappointing. He's a great singer and guitarist, but his songs were vanilla and boring. The crowd ended up talking through his whole set. Willie deserves a better opening act.
Recently saw Frankie Valli, left early because Frankie was barely even lip syncing. When I bought the tickets to Willie, I had a little fear of a repeat performance from Frankie. What a difference the show was! Willie is a few years older than Frankie, is comfortable with his age and capability. Willie is a storyteller, and that's exactly what he did at this show.
Willy Nelson's vocal performance was really good! The concert experience was ruined by the band mediocre performance. They sounded worse than an amateur garage band. There was no cohesion between the instuments. It sounded like every musician played for himself. We tried to find a reason to stay until the end of the concert but we couldn't. It was not pleasant experience to put it mildly. We left 40 minutes after the main concert started. There were many other folks who felt the same way and were already heading to the exits.
We always love the St Augustine Amphitheatre and the show Willie put on was great. He played a variety of songs from throughout his career and didn't miss a beat. His voice is still as good as it was when we saw him in Las Vegas 35 years ago. Thank you Willie for a great show and keep on going!
Last week's Willie Nelson concert at St. Augustine Amphitheater is a moment in Music History that was not to be missed. Valentine's Day and so special to be in Florida on a chilly evening and watch Willie and Family play all his iconic songs from all the decades. From Georgia to Light Me Up and Smoke Me When I Die, every song sung and played with joy and the audience LOVED every minute! 93 and still going strong, Thank You, Willie Nelson. I'm having Light Me Up and Smoke Me When I Die at my memorial service in tribute! LOVELOVELOVE xoxo
Our first time seeing Willie Nelson live and he delivered. He is still amazing. We had a great time and the St. Augustine, FL Amphitheater was a great place to enjoy the show.
It was a treat getting to see the legendary Willie Nelson in person, even when he spoke the lyrics instead of singing them and seemed to be playing different chords than the rest of the band. The opening act was boring and way too long. And yeah, I'm an old lady, and it was a Willie Nelson concert, but for the love of God and the comfort of the people who paid big bucks to attend, PLEASE stop tolerating the smoking of dope in the Amp!!
For his age he sounded good, opening act could have been shorter.
What a great concert!! Willie just keeps on going and his son was great as well
Loved the Willie Nelson concert! Great venue, musicians, songs, everything! Intimate setting to see a legend!
First time I ever saw Willie live. Flew down to FL from NJ with my son to see him. I had limited expectations, given how Willie looked on recent TV appearances. What a surprise! He was terrific! He sang most of the one-hour plus show, tapering off during the last 15 minutes. After all, 90 is 90! But his guitar work was wonderful! I went from surprised to AMAZED! Catch him while you can!
I did not care for the opening act-Amos Lee. Willie was much better than I expected. I really liked the venue.
Let me start by saying I read the previous reviews saying he didn't sing or play and I'm here to tell those folks it's a shane they didn't see the show I attended. While slow to make his way to the stage (what do you expect from a 90+ year old gentleman), once he took his seat it was all business. I am still amazed at how well he played that dang guitar. He must have very strong hands! He did many, many of his hits, of course he remembered all the words and yes he sang!!! He travels with a very small band but they were all he needed to deliver a fantastic evening of songs including his son Micah. I'm so happy we went, the man is a national treasure and an American icon. If you get a chance to see him, go. You will only be disappointed if you miss him. I don't know how he's able to do this night after night but I'm so glad he came to my state. He sang several of my favorites and a couple that I downloaded and have added to my list, especially Angel flying to close to the ground. What a lovely song that one was when he sang it live. Willie, thank you for giving us such an amazing experience. It was worth the drive from Jacksonville to St. Augustine. You've still got it. Take it easy, safe travels and thank you, you are always on our minds!
i wish it was more about willie nelson performing than it was his son but still a good concert.
Great concert. I don’t soke pot but I definitely felt high
Only song missing was Crazy. Great job Willlie u are a legend.
Willie, his son & band were fabulous. An hour long performance was a little short and opening act would have fit a more intimate venue. Enjoyed the venue and show but attendees in our upper deck were loud, disrespectful and smoking pot. Would definitely sit up closer next time.
The venue is amazing and so was the show! We stayed nearby and walked to the amphitheatre and then got a pedicab back to the hotel. Expect to pay a pretty penny for drinks etc but not more than usual.
