    Flashdance

by Anonymous on 11/25/15Shea's Performing Arts Center - Buffalo

Very disappointing! The sound system obviously had technical problems that were not remedied and it felt like an amateur production. Most of the actors and actresses had excellent, professional singing voices, however, due to the sound I am sure it was difficult for them to give their best performance.

    worst sound ever

by essso on 11/25/15Shea's Performing Arts Center - Buffalo

So disappointed in this show! It's a musical and the sound did not work. The actors were distracted, the theater was flat, the sound was abominable. This was a very expensive night out. There was no apology. I would like my money back.

Flashdance the Musical - a Broadway Series hit!

by MacRadio on 11/25/15Dow Event Center - Saginaw

The actors, music and dancing were great and the energy just as high as expected. Some glitches with the sound were distracting but other than that, it was fabulous!

    Awful "Flashdance" Production

by andeveb on 11/24/15Shea's Performing Arts Center - Buffalo

I attended the Sat., Nov. 21st production of "Flashdance" at Shea's Performing Arts Center in Buffalo, NY. It was AWFUL. It was awful not because of the actors ( most were good, and the lead actors had great voices ), it was awful because of the microphone sound system problems during the whole play. There were many loud screeching sounds, as well as loud clunks and other annoying sounds during the entire 2 1/2 hours of the production! Also, many of the supporting actors who had speaking or singing parts did not have personal microphone "headsets" so you couldn't hear them at all. There was also smoke/fog being emitted from the ceiling area of the stage during the WHOLE performance which was confusing and annoying. It was definitely not worth the more than $70 I spent for my ticket. I've seen 5 good performances on Toronto this year as well as good high school and community theater productions that were better productions technically.

    Flashdance

by Shptiludrp on 11/24/15Shea's Performing Arts Center - Buffalo

Overall I thought the performers were great. I was greatly disappointed by the sound system. The sound system cracked often and some of the performers microphones didn't work at all.

    Utter disappointment........waste of money.

by Jkincanon on 11/24/15Shea's Performing Arts Center - Buffalo

Some of the microphones didn't work. Acoustics were horrible. Choreography was amateur at best. The lead was the only bright spot in the show. Very disappointed.

Hard to believe this show was such a disappointment. Te sound was horrific. Mics not working or cutting out. Reverb especially during the final number. Not a great performance.

    let down

by 1flashdancefan on 11/24/15Shea's Performing Arts Center - Buffalo

flashdance is one of my favorite movies.I was really looking forward to the musical.Lead actress was very good (even looked like Jennifer Beals) but that is where it ends.Especially audio was very poor. Many of the mics didn't work properly & heard feedback a few times.Felt sorry for the actors they gave it their best BUT the production was a letdown

    Flashdance was disappointing

by Dinick on 11/24/15Shea's Performing Arts Center - Buffalo

The sound system had problems throughout the entire performance. The music was often louder than the singers' voices. Some of the speaking parts could not be heard as if their microphone was not on. Several times within the performance the system feedback screeched. It was really disappointing.

    Very Poor Performance

by MikeMJr on 11/24/15Shea's Performing Arts Center - Buffalo

Sound was TERRIBLE!, couldn't hear most of the cast. Feedback from the sound was hard on the ears. Have seen better performances at high school plays.

    Flashdance was a disappointment

by tapper54 on 11/24/15Shea's Performing Arts Center - Buffalo

While the performers were really good and had great voices, the poor sound quality took away from the entire performance. I was looking for spectacular and walked out disappointed in a mediocre at best musical.

    Flashdance

by CitizenForBetterPlays on 11/24/15Shea's Performing Arts Center - Buffalo

Worst performance I have ever seen. Poor audio with squealing/screeching sounds intermittently throughout the entire performance, two of the second line performers microphones did not work, choreography was not good.

    Flashdance

by miggybado on 11/24/15Shea's Performing Arts Center - Buffalo

The show was worse than an amateur high school play. The microphones didn't work, there was microphone feedback, the music was too loud, etc. The dancing was so-so, and limited. The singing might have been good, if we could have heard it. They should have given refunds.

    Lead actress was fantastic

by ElenaMarie on 11/24/15Shea's Performing Arts Center - Buffalo

Flashdance was an enjoyable flashback to the '80s. We didn't go for the predictable storyline, but rather for the singing and the dancing - and for that, the cast, particularly the actress who played Alex who was fantastic, delivered beautifully! They had some sound issues involving feedback from the speakers, but they pushed through in "the show must go on" spirit and we had a great time.

    Flashdance - Poor

by Toolx10 on 11/24/15Shea's Performing Arts Center - Buffalo

Many sound problems from the start, which took away your attention from the play. Main character's mic was not working - even after switching out mic packs for her. Thru all that the main female actor was was good. Her co-star playing Hurley was stiff and unnatural. The dancing was good. Pre-recorded backing tracks was cheesy. I would not go again to see this play.

Flashdance was a flash in the pan

by Strk98 on 11/24/15Shea's Performing Arts Center - Buffalo

The show itself was a so so interpretation of the movie. While the performers were all good and did a nice job it left this audience member flat. Aside from the production value of the show the most horrific disappointment belongs to the sound producer/s. From the opening of the curtain until the close the sound was terribly unprofessional. Constant feedback and squealing, inaudible songs and some performers mics that weren't even turned on for their dialog! The worst part of the show! Whoever was in charge of the sound should be replaced to even give this show a chance.

The performers tried very hard but the sound was giving them difficulty throughout the entire performance -- between the reverberations and then you couldn't hear some of the lines -- it was a struggle throughout the entire performance. It could have been very good -- but it was not because of those difficulties.

Flashdance - Can You Hear It?

by imightbegone on 11/24/15Shea's Performing Arts Center - Buffalo

I don't know about you but I would say an important part about attending a musical is the availability to hear it. This was not the case with Flashdance The Musical. I am a season ticket holder at Sheas in Buffalo New York and also see musicals in Toronto. Flashdance was the worst I've seen in years due to one simple reason: You could not hear the lyrics. My seats were Front Row Center btw. For the first act, two performers mikes did not work at all. Pathetic. It is truely ashame since the voices of the two leads were very good. The story line & music was also good. The music created the same drama that was in the movie. It could have been a 3 1/l2 to 4 star rating for me But the sound was so bad so who could hear the lyrics? I suggest Flashdance the Musical replace All their sound equipment or end this tour immediately!
